I forgot to say, RS, I did a filter change on the wifes tractor the other day. Was supposed to be transmission.
Read up on it, and if you do it quick enough, no fluid loss.
Well I park on a hill, get all ready, get the filter loose....and well it is pouring out of there. I mean like.....pouring... slap new filter back on, hmmmm...that did not feel right.
Go look at manual, yeah, wrong side of tractor. I did the hydraulic and not the transmission.
At least I got the filter right.
Went and got a new transmission filter, do the hill parking, and wallah! Change filter and top off the fluids. All is well.
Never read a manual upside down.
Yeah ... I went up on Kubota's Illustrated Parts website this time around - just to verify that I was putting the correct filter on the correct side ... since the labelling on the filters (transmission, hydraulic, and engine oil) are all the same, something like: Cartridge, Oil Filter.
I had been labelling the boxes which I save, previously with a "R" and a "L" (for left and right sides) as I change them out, but then was uncertain this time around whether the right and left was from sitting in the seat ... or facing the tractor from in front.
(It's from sitting in the tractor seat ... now if I can only remember that in another 300 hours worth of seat time
Glad to see ya back in GM.
Good luck with your septic project ...
