Good morning!!!!

68F and partly cloudy @ 12:00, heading up to a high of 71F. Winds out of the Northwest @ 10 to 20 mph will make it seem very cool.

Refilled hopper, two sunflower tube, and two suet feeders yesterday, including the one outside the kitchen window.

Also watered the irises and other potted plants.

The Woman got called in today (... again ... she went in yesterday as well ... :()

Agenda for today:

Continue moving dirt down to barn for pad, approach, and creek crossing and compact it.

The idea is to create a raised path over to the creek crossing that will serve to channel any run off from the front of the barn into the pipes at the creek crossing. It being raised with respect to the surrounding area should make it "wet-drained" and hopefully keep it from turning into a total muddy mess. The area does not get much - if any - sun. May need to remove some trees eventually, to help with keeping it dry ... although that's a trade off - with the trees sucking the moisture out of the ground.

There's another pallet of retaining wall block in the barn that I need to move around to the back so I can work/maneuver around inside.

May also do some more work on rock wall removal, now that I have some place to pile them with the enlarged pad.

USPS wildflower seeds should be here on Friday.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Hand & Foot this afternoon.
Good luck for the guys!

This week my arch-rival - Bernice, who is right ahead of me with 27 wins compared to my 26 wins was my partner on the last game of the night. Since we won and her total for the night was the same number of wins I had (3) so she is still ahead of me by one hand with only 3 game nights (15 hands) remaining this quarter. I jumped ahead of Art last week when he got credited with no wins for not showing up (he has moved to an assisted living complex) so I'm in 5th place waiting for the results to be posted for this week.

Morning all,
This may not be the best place to post this but it should get good exposure here;
a lot of people myself include have forks on FEL but for those times you would like a set of dedicated forks
here is a set for your contemplation. (not mine, I have no knowledge about them other then seeing the ad)
4wd Articulating Overland Forklift runs drives. 10,000lb - farm &...
If I didn't have a set of 3 point forks as well as FEL forks I would be going and looking at them. :p

60F and partly cloudy @ 21:00, heading down to 53F for the overnight low. Another good sleeping weather night.

Was cool enough today that I wore long pants and a long-sleeved shirt overtop my tee shirt and I wasn't at all too warm.

Spent pretty much the entire day moving soil down to the pole barn and compacting it.

Did stop to chat for a bit with several neighbors who were out for a stroll.

There were some dark clouds in the afternoon but other than a couple of raindrops they didn't produce anything here.

Started the mowing on the west side and back of the house before knocking off, still a little bit left to do on that, that I will finish up tomorrow.

2375+ hours on the Kubota, will be due for service in another 25 hours. In the meantime, I need to grease the loader tomorrow.

Ron, short answer no on the Gator. I am going to run out of hair to pull out. I believed I'd found the problem, but may have over compensated along with the problem....It has good spark, valves are adjusted, compression even at 105 each. So all things point to the carb. I had purchased a carb rebuild kit, gave it an ultrasonic bath in simple green, and put it together. Still super rich. Blowing gas and dark smoke out the exhaust when it is running, but running poorly. Ok. Next, my buddy came over and we take off carb again (I'm getting where I can do it in about 4 minutes off, 8 minutes back on), he said he believed that the floats (non-adjustable) were not shutting off soon enough, leaving the fuel level high in the bowl. This pointed back to maybe I lapped the chamfer too big. So I went to extremes. I took it to work, with the float bowl off and put in the bridgeport mill on a couple of parallels in the vise. The seat (that the needle seals off) is a pressed in plug. The only way to lower the fuel level is to either move the seat lower, which lowers the contact point, and the floats shut off flow sooner, or make a new one with smaller chamfer. I carefully pressed from the opposite side (on the backside of the seat) and lowered it about .025-.030ish. I used the mill as an accurate press. This lowered the floats about .065 being "out on the limb". I put some alcohol in the fuel line and held the floats up by hand and no leakage. OK HERE'S THE DUMMY ME PART.... there are 2 hoses coming off the top of the carb. One is fuel in, the other is a not so clear breather hose maybe 5mm ID. It is very dirty on the bottom end and you can't actually see through it due to grease/grime/crud and 17 years old. When I was winding it up around the carb to put it all in a zip lock, I noticed some dust came out of it....I bent it around and much more came out. Some insect had built a dirt nest up in it...NO ability to breath was making the engine's vacuum just suck so much fuel into the engine, it would just flood. So with it cleaned out and the breather clear, I put it back on the gator, and it's still not running properly, but I believe it's lean from my float mod. So I'll press the seat all the way back in and see what happens. Might not happen until Sunday as I'm booked up til then.

Prayers for our team. Randy, Bupps, Stepp's son, my covid friends, Drew and Helga, Mostly's wifey, all in need. And the US of A.

Good night to those slightly east of me!
Good morning to those way west of me!
:)

Good evening all. 61F for the start, clear, light breeze. Light wind today, mostly clear all day, and high temp was 90F, DP 49F. Indian creek still running, unusual for this time of year, might make to next rain which is still several days away. Bike ride started first thing this morning, then got remind of a dentist appointment. Sprinted back to house changed clothes, but still too late, call to office went unanswered. Tried to do something about neighbors run over mailbox, he is out of town, but no luck. Did receive new printhead, got it installed and got printer working :) Took nap then finished the miles I did not ride this morning, then grilled some brats. Nice to be outside with the low humidity.

While I think I like it, it was work. If my count is right only 19 tiles didn’t require cutting, 14 of the long, 5 of the mosaic.

Guys lost at H&F, but still lead series.

Don, must be challenging to play with different partner every week.

good morning all.
59 out now going up to high 70's in full sunshine today, and looks like nice weather for next five days.
I never got call from shed delivery company, hard to believe this can get screwed up twice in a row.

I expect a busy day, first supermarket, then mow the lawn, then maybe off to church to do some flagstone grouting, though I may
save that for tomorrow morning. I love to work outside on cool mornings.

David, that is really impressive. And looks like a lot of hard work.

Dennis, I wonder if it's time for a new oem carb. Good luck with that gator

Am wondering if my Fall crop of beets and radishes will stop popping their little green shoots up today in the sun. Cool nights, warm days, perfect growing weather.
