I figure whatever comes out of the asphalt plant is probably both regulated and technical.
Driveway sealing is the land of the gypsies. Two men and a truck.
It's hard work doing it yourself by squeegee but what an improvement over the watered
down spray on stuff.

Below average 64 nice cool degrees outside with a little ground fog. Birds seemed extra hungry today, chipmunks, too.

Roy, I think I remember you driving to work on a holiday, one time, too. They must think you really love it there. :)

Don, you do a good job of removing the cedars...are there any places that cedars are actually welcome where you live?

Buppies, about time to get back to the beach, right?

Upped my walking mileage yesterday...did 6.4 miles...actually was only planning to go 5. But I did goof off the rest of the day.

With a bit of luck this will be our last warm day at 29C/84F.
It would be pleasant enough if it wasn't for the humidity, just glad that unlike some I don't have to participate in any Cedarcide.
Don, how do you cope wearing chainsaw protective leggings in that heat ?

Ron, your field edge looks a wonderful place for the deer to snack (y)

Good morning! 69˚F, 98% humidity, clear skies, heading to the 90s, no rain the last two day irrigation system is back on.

Wngsprd there are parts of the park where only the cedars on the trail can be cut because an endangered warbler nest in the cedars and uses the bark for nest. The cows like cedars for shade in the Summer and for forage in the Winter if they are not fed hay.
Eric, I don't wear leggings. It's hot enough with long sleeves and gloves.

Taking off to the gardens this morning to see what I can get into.

Good morning.
Glorious day here today. 64 and staying in the upper 70’s and sunny.

Yesterday’s meeting was pretty productive, I never once looked at my watch. After the meeting I tried out the new cordless hedge trimmers, and was pleased with the performance. They appear to be very well made as well.
Successful trip to my friends shop resuscitate his AC. When I got back home I put new blades on the Lazer and scraped the bottom of the deck while I had it hoisted up. Then spent some time cleaning up.

This morning I’m off to Newport News, but should be home early afternoon to keep making progress in the shop.

My wife has been a hospice nurse for 40 years, and says she is retiring in October. I’m not sure, but I think I’ve been retired most of my life, in that I generally spend my days doing what I feel like doing. I’m not sure that I really want to change anything in the foreseeable future. I think that the key is to enjoy what puts the bread on your table, and I have been very fortunate in that regard.

Nice morning, low humidity. 61°, low was 55.
First cup of OJ poured.

Finally able to log onto computer. It said the restore failed, rebooted it, it took a long time but desktop finally came up, and then said successful restore. Little circle thing would just spin and spin for a long time. Finally was able to use it. All files backed up and new restore point created. It wants to do the updates again that hosed it. Any reboot will trigger them. There was a program I had installed the other night that was corrupt, maybe it caused the problem.

Found a new Dell laptop that meets all my requirements and ordered it. Won’t arrive till September. Also ordered new laptop for church, having video trouble with one there.
Dell has a 50% off Black Friday in July sale.

Will be in AR next month a week before the Big boy comes thru. I want to stay to see it, but doubt I will. It’s going thru Little Rock to St Louis.

Got little sleep since working on computer till early AM. Need to get moving.

Good Morning! 72 F at 7:30 and wet. Had over 2" rain last two days. Rather wet than hot like out west.
Took morning walk to put cracked corn for the turkeys and squirrels. Made the turn on trail and there stood ( 50 feet from me ) the young buck that hangs around since he was born. I have pictures of him growing and his antlers growing. Five point but first year. Around here maybe last! He needs to be more careful! Might get some dry weather for a couple days so I can mow the grass.

Welcome to GM.

77° at 6pm is pretty good for LA.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 101F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Air Quality this morning is an Unhealthy 170, which is a big improvement from earlier in the week. Inside air filter just kicked into high gear to deal with it.

You must be in pretty good shape if you can swing that chainsaw for three hours in the heat, Don.

They say if you enjoy your job, you'll never work a day in your life. You are indeed fortunate, Paul.

It's a relief to see there are still places in the world that are still green and lush with vegetation. Thanks for the reminders, folks!

No issues with the building inspector yesterday, once I explained that the electrical conduit would have only low voltage wire in it. Placed an order with the manufacturer of the Ethernet cable I need. We'll see if they actually have it on hand when so many of their outlets do not. Tried to order clean fill dirt for the trench, but the pit is comes from is closed for several months. Sure hope I don't have to go back to screening what's here to get the job done. Backbreaking work in the hot sun.

Over the weekend I found an ad online for the high capacity fuel tanks I like for the motorcycles and purchased it. It was supposed to be here Tuesday, then it was yesterday, now it's today. Hope FedEx doesn't lose it all together. I feel your pain on shipping costs, Paul, the tab was $80, just to get here from San Diego.

The Dixie Fire continues to spread north and east, gaining another 10,000 acres as of last night. More mandatory evacuations ordered, more power outages as well. Over 3000 firefighters now, mutual aid coming in from all over the west. Hundreds of fire engines are being positioned in the communities for structure defense. There's even a 737 air tanker that got here from Australia yesterday. They must be doing something right, since after burning over 90,000 acres, only 8 structures have been lost.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good morning Rene and welcome to GM.
does part of your screen name stand for volunteer fire dept?

Louisiana often gets more rain and storms than it wants.
You doing ok there? Out of flooding's path?

Good Morning
75f at 8 am going to be mid 90s today. No rain today and if it stays dry another day I will cut most of the grass. Only about a acre rest of the 15 is woods.
Small garden about finished, cucumbers still growing. Tomatoes about to pulled up or tilled under.

59F and sunny @ 08:45, headed up to a high of 78F for the day.

Graded drive up to gas well yesterday and filled in a really bad rut which was around 10" deep. Also pushed a fallen tree off the drive as well.

Hauled three bucketloads of wood chips at the one neighbor's request over to the other neighbor's pasture and dumped them where the cattle are making a wallow.

After that I worked on hauling more dirt down to the south side of pole barn filling in that area, compacting the dirt and grading it out. Have a lot of clean up to do around the barn.

Happy to report that after rebuilding the second curl cylinder the floppiness in the bucket when carrying a load has disappeared ... (y)

Gathered up the pulled weeds from in the garden, along with some more leaves and debris from southwest corner of house and took those up to the compost pile and buried them.

The Woman fixed BLT's for dinner yesterday with the bacon we got from the neighbor, I had three. We both agreed that the bacon was excellent, best we've had in a long time.

Up early enough today that I might just get the Weed-N-Feed put down on the lower front if the grass is still wet enough when I get out there in a few minutes.

Hopper feeder needs refilled, didn't get to that yesterday.

Also didn't get the fish fed either, so will have to do that later.

Beyond those items, the Menards order still needs picked up ... but with the nice weather I probably won't do that until late in the day.

Many other things on the list, too numerous to mention.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

RS, you are the busiest guy I know, do you make lists for yourself?

I hope PJS is doing ok and that SIL is making a good effort to be productive.

Yes I was with the dept. in Port Sulphur, La, gave up being active in 2005. Was all volunteer then, now there are paid firefighters there 24-7, but only 2 at the main station and 1 at the sub. so they still depend on the vol. members. Still a board member in social part. Life member with LSFA.
We are well over on the rain this year and where I live now I do not have a problem with water. I still have property that will and has been damaged by hurricanes, I could and should sell that.

70°F and heavy fog this morning, going up to 91° today.

Need to decide if I'm going to brave the heat and humidity after work tonight and tomorrow night to get the grass mowed, or wait until the weekend. Low 90s today and tomorrow, and mid- to upper 90s for the weekend. Just can't always motivate myself to do it after working in a hot welding shop all day, but I certainly don't look forward to even hotter days. I guess I'll decide that when I get home this evening.

Stayed up way too late in the studio last night. I don't hate spending the time, but it always makes for a long day after.

Lots of nice pictures today.

We learned long ago not to expect productivity from him. He's the type of guy who will work harder to not have to work on something he doesn't want to do. It is what it is. On the bright side, he's not been home much, which at least for now is keeping The Wife's stress levels to a minimum.

We're fine, though, Drew. Thanks for thinking of us.

LOL ... I used to make lots of them, very detailed.

Found out that generally it took too much time ... so I've sworn off ... at least to some extent.

These days I mostly just work on whatever pops into my head and seems realistic, given the current weather.

Not like there's any shortage of things to do.

Hope your brother enjoys his cigars ... ;)

Good morning all, 64 and sunny.
Will be away for a bit.

RS - your list alone makes me tired :)

Back to the day job.

Stay safe and be well

68°F and .95 inches rain.

Meeting/intro with the caretaker candidate went very well. Could be a good initial, short term fit. Have to see how next couple of months play out on both sides. I still have to complete the unit and circumstances can always change, but for now, encouraging.

Back into mudding this morning.

H&F this afternoon. Sophie is making stuffed cabbage, but with a turkey/chicken stuffing. Looking forward to it.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
