Good morning!!!!

I bet David's caretaker job description would be a dream for someone.

Fun lunch out with brother, restaurant short on staff, everyone seems short on staff it seems.

I drove his Corvette home, oh my. My ears are still ringing and my bad shoulder now hurts from pulling with all my strength
on that manual everything car. No power brakes, no power steering, I could barely park the car.
Then at one stop sign I wound up in reverse instead of first. That got exciting as I wide eyed stabbed on the brake pedal which felt
like a big slab of wood. Apparently the lockout in reverse doesn't lock out too well...

I liked his 1960 black Corvette convertible better, much easier to drive. This 1965 had at least 4.11 gears and maybe lower.
I think he's going to start looking for E class AMG's, something comfortable his wife will go places with him with.
He told me I was one of the few people who could drive this car, and I did ok but not great. You sit super low with a thin steering wheel and
a car that darts all over the road. I don't know if it had a stock cam but it loaded up easily at low revs with that wonderful lumpity lump sounds.
The Audi felt like a Rolls driving home, not that I honestly know what the latter feels like.

81 and cloudy out.

time to work very hard at doing nothing

Another piece of pvc glued.

Well on way to having northwest planting bed mulched:

Afternoon mow the lawn than decided to mow the front field,it was double the work also mowing time because the field was on the wet side only left 1 rut to fill in.

Not much plan for the evening other than numbing it. ;)

63°, Beautiful weather today didn’t get to start mowing till after 7 tonight, so only 3/4 done. Son said he’d mow front tomorrow. I did along creek, 3/4 of field & back yard.
Did eat a few wild blackberries along the field. Was getting too dark to get a good pic.

64F and "Fair" @ 22:00, headed down to an overnight low of 56F.

Got mulching done on northwest planting bed then Woman decided they needed water (they in fact did not "need" water ...) ... but the WB was right there and had some in it, so we went ahead and started watering. Of course it wasn't enough ... so I had to drag it around back and partially refill it.

While I was doing that she went in and put dinner in the oven (porkchops and scalloped potatoes)

Once I got the WB as full as I wanted it, and pulled it around with the Cub and then took the compostables up to the pile with Kubota and buried them.

After that did some soil screening until I noticed she was back out at the planting bed so I ran down to help her with the watering.

Once we got the plants all watered we headed up to the shop and weeded the back side.

At some point I got hungry enough and she got tired enough that we agreed to head down for dinner.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Got the grass mowed and trimmed today. Bought a 4.4 cu ft counter top fridge with no freezer today, going to use it strictly for drinks, milk, juice, water, etc…

Electrician will be here tomorrow to install the RV hookup, RV will be here this weekend. Going to use it for overflow next weekend and then a trip to the Outer Banks Labor Day week. I hope we use it enough to justify it.

Going to try to remove the deck from the tractor tomorrow, replace the belt, service it and out it away for emergency use.

It’s been a long day, good night guys.

good morning all
nice sunny summer day here, highs in mid to upper 80's.
My day had been planned to help my aging MIL do change of address work before she
goes into retirement home, but they cancelled last night, so looks like I have a nice day to myself.
Going to mow the lawn and then clean and grease the mower.

Toppop, what kind of rv did you get?

   / Good morning!!!! #136,010
Poured first cup of coffee. 62° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with thunderstorms in afternoon. Did all the house cleaning and shrub trimming yesterday. Grocery shopping this morning. Then a small get together in afternoon.
I thought there was just one doe and her 2 fawns visiting my lily garden. There was 2 does and 3 fawns yesterday. When I went to take a picture they all headed out into the field. I caught this one with camera.

Randy, what did you get for a RV? Make sure Electrician wired outlet properly. Many mistakes are made when wiring a RV plug for 30 amp. It should be 120 volts AC. Not 220. Plugs look similar. 50 amp not so many mistakes.

RNG, hope they get fires under control.

Buckeye, good picture. Glad computer is up and running.

Drew, how hard can a Vette be to drive. Last one I had was in late 60's. I was 28 then. It was a dream to drive.

Ken, great picture. Hurry back.

PJ, hope you some mowing done. So you can have the weekend free.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Drew, how hard can a Vette be to drive

I never drove my brother's Z06, the 650hp one, but that's the only one that he said had too
much power for the chassis, too easy to break loose. Scared him once or twice.
But fun to drive with a light foot. Honestly this old car was so high effort to drive with
super heavy steering (brother thought maybe it needed some steering box work) and brakes that were laughable in feel and function
compared to a modern vehicle, plus the constant roar of noise coming in, well it kind of wears you out. We both agreed about an hour of driving
was about all that was fun. A car you get out of with sweaty armpits...of course it was about 90 in the car with no a/c...

Whereas his 1960 was crude and bouncy but just a delight to drive with a 327. I drove that convertible to the NJ shore with the Beach Boys
in the cassette deck. Giddyap Giddyap 409
Nice to have a brother who will trust you with his Corvette...

I've told him for a couple years he should just order a new Corvette. For what you get they are very reasonably priced and if you don't do
something really stupid, super fast and safe too. As I was staring at the chromed steel and wood steering wheel yesterday that could have
shish kabobbed my chest...

My son is coming for a visit next month. Bring his 2020 Shelby. He does not know yet. I plan on driving it.

Drew maybe he should look at an M8 very nice or a Bentley Bentaga used the best way to buy both pretty fast. I have expensive tastes on beer pocketbook

Ron there is a nice gentleman who lives close by whose father had the largest Shelby dealership in NY. Numerous books he has signed by Mr Shelby fascinating man to talk to

58 right now...high in the low 70's today.

I went and got fuel for the ZTR, than went to pull it out of the garage....click, click. Dead battery. My neighbor had pulled it in the garage while I was in the hospital and the key was hanging on the hook (I normally leave it in the ignition when the mower is in the garage)...also, the parking brake pedal wasn't depressed (engaged). I have no idea what killed the battery, but I had an online meeting to attend. I'll charge the battery this morning so I can mow this afternoon. If it charges OK, should be good to go. I'm thinking the parking brake not being engaged could be the culprit...maybe tied in to a safety switch (I know it's tied in to the mower deck PTO switch) which remained energized even with the key out of the ignition

   / Good morning!!!! #136,018
remained energized even with the key out of the ignition

that would be an unfortunate design flaw, off should be off

However, I had to suggest to my friends who loaned me their 22 year old JD 345 whose new battery almost went dead on me
to install one of those battery kill switches on top of the battery to cut off all drain, because something was draining the battery.
Or...charging circuit bad which I'm thinking would only take a multimeter to test out.

65 and cloudy, going to 86.

Nice day yesterday...worked in garden, then sharpened the 3 extra blades for the zero. I'll need to swap them with the 3 on the mower in the next couple of weeks.

Good morning! 76˚F, 96% humidity, partly cloudy skies, heading to the mid 90s

Yesterday was a tractor day hauling mulch. We also have two dumpster that needed compacting with the FEL. They are used to put spent plants in. They are taken out to the composting site and compost is brought back to the garden.

I order an entry mirror from Pier 1. Tracking started in Canada and yesterday got to within 20 miles of me before the tracking stoped and a note saying it was "discarded because of damage". Refund time.

I really don't understand the qualification for going to the highest level in the Covid infection. We are getting around 70 new cases a day in the county, In the winter we were getting 300 a day before the level went up to the highest level (uncontrolled spread). ??? Stores have not required mask again and there is plenty of toilet paper. More people are wearing mask in the store, about 1/3. Our county is 60% vaccinated. The vaccine is readily available in drug stores and grocery stores, no appointment necessary.
