Some woman traveller who was fully vaccinated came to Queensland from down south and brought the Covid with her. It is now beginning to spread in Queensland thanks to her. Hope they can stop it asap.
Our county just went to the highest level of uncontrollable covid spread. Here we go again. The spreaders are 18 - 50 year olds.

I just got my second shot a few weeks back; sure hope it helps.

Around here the 65+ group are like 90% vaccinated.

But, including kids 12 and under, we are only 40% vaccinated.

The delta spread in almost entirely in that unvaccinated group.

After my hospital saty last week, I've decided I will get the COVID vaccine.
I've a follow up doctor's visit next week, so that's when I'll start the process...

After all the poking I had last week, the COVID shot should be gravy...

TOP, I'm sure you will weather this just fine but prayers for your family and FIL anyway.

After 65 years I can say that half of life is making adjustments and the other half is showing up. So if we keep showing up and adjusting we will probably do just fine. Look at the cockroach.

Thanks for the pep talk.
My mom lived with my late wife and me for 3 1/2 years. We adjusted and made it work. I love my FIL and most of my in laws. We get along great, but we have family coming for my birthday (Aug 2) for a large cookout party on the first. Sleeping arrangements are what concern me. We are thinking of bring the motor home down for extra space, we no longer have a hide a bed because Ellen didn’t like it. That pretty much would have cured the problem. My son has one of those Patriot camper trailers from Australia, it’s very self contained and sets up very quickly. I might see if wants to bring that.

Toppop, you're a good man Charlie Brown.

dinner with friends was very good, we had the steaks which were just yummy and tender but honestly a little fatty for me.
145 degrees for theirs, 158 for mine.
Next time I'll pick a leaner cut than ribeye. Plus beets and potatoes from their garden from plants I gave to them that wouldn't all fit
in my garden. Truly what goes around comes around.
His wife is an avid gardener so of course we have lots to talk about and I got the complete tour. After which I was happy to get back in a/c, still pretty muggy out but
temps are now dropping.

Roy, everything has risk, I think highly likely you will reduce your risk by getting vaccinated.
The new stuff, the variant, is supposed to be much more contagious if you are not vaccinated and potentially be more harmful to you.
But if you are vaccinated, you should have very high chance of adequate protection against this year's bunch of bad actors.

Don, that is not good news at all. Good reason to live in a 55+ community?

Well loved flag Buckeye, has been sending a good message for a long time.
maybe soon to be retired with honor.

72F and clear, heading down to a low of 66F for the overnight.

Went out first thing and picked up rubber hose for dishwasher/disposal from the local hardware store and fixed leaky sink.

Then went up and spread 3 yards of topsoil for neighbor, backfilling around his new building. Still some more to do on that, waiting for him to get back with me on it.

After that I pulled the last of invasive shrubs at the shop and hauled them over to compost/wood lot followed by mowing the upper front.

Then it was dinner time - a couple of Johnsonville Kielbasi links with a mess of zucchini and yellow squash. Tasty.

Followed that with running up to the neighbor's and grabbing another 20 lbs of pork and 6 lbs more chops for friend. We got a pork roast, bacon, sausage (links and patties), a large ham hock and a slice of ham, and chops. Friend said chops were the best he's ever had.

Spent some time shooting the breeze and having a beer with them and one of their friends.

Did more weeding of garden accompanied by a Old Leg Humper from Thirsty Dog Brewing after we got back until it got dark.

Then fed all the fish.

About to go have some of The Woman's homemade zucchini bread and a glass of milk and watch the remainder of the Bucks/Suns game.

Looking forward to the cooler temps tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

My laptop won’t boot, keeps trying and failing to repair itself. Don’t have time for that right now. So I told it to restore to the last save. 3 days ago. Guess it did an upda te then, and something in update hosed it. So far restore isn’t working either. I left it and went to bed.

   / Good morning!!!! #135,934
My old one started doing that but booted up by itself OK again. After a couple of weeks of that I went and bought a new one. Gives me a chance to save everything to the new one before it carks it altogether.

62 right now...high in the low 70's today...
There was a fast moving thunderstorm last night right around 2100...pretty intense there for a while.

Started a refi on the home mortgage...rates are really good right now and it'll knock about $250-$275 off the monthly mortgage payment. My part of the process is pretty much done but will take 5-7 weeks to complete. I've been kicking this around for a few months and finally decided to take action before the rates go up. There's a pretty high probability of higher interest rates later this year

State of Emergency declared in Province of BC yesterday afternoon, due to over 300 wild fires.

closest ones to us are 45 - 60 minutes down the road. Lots of smoke. But so far, we're good and safe. :)

During my hospital stay, the doctor did state that the Delta variant would be extremely dangerous to me, due to the COPD and heart problems...I'm not real enthusiastic about getting vaccines which, IMHO, haven't really been proven (no matter what the "experts" say).
So, I reckon it's a worthwhile risk...

Coffee has finished brewing. 57° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 76° with plenty of sun. Did not get grass mowed yesterday. I better get it done today. Did do maintenance on garden pond. Should be a good day to finish cutting back field.
Took this picture while cleaning pond.

Roy, only one person that I spend time with has not gotten vaccine. No one has had a bad effect to it.

Scaredy, stay safe from fires.

Randy, I am sure you and Ellen will adapt to living with another person in house.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs mpham !!!❣️

David, if you come back to the mainland. I sure could use some help with a couple of drywall projects. ;)

Drew, good to hear arm is getting better.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Folks with breathing problems like Roy need to take care.

birds were chattering away so loudly they woke me up this morning. A fine alarm clock.
