I was thinking...is the audio quality on Zoom high quality digital? Can two people in different locations
see each other playing, all playing together , and hear the combined result realtime?
Lag/latency would likely mess that up.

Latency is quite high on Zoom. It would be impossible to have a musical collaboration. I’ve been on meetings where the pledge of allegiance was attempted, and it was borderline comical.

Started taking awning off rv. Got both sides loose, had my wife on the other end, she couldn’t lift it off, then had trouble getting my end back in, but got it finally. Going to have to get more help. When I get the new one on, It has to be rolled up to get it back on. Think I can throw rope over the camper to hold it and let it down.

Afraid of damaging something, but is an option.

See Don’s suggestion or
If you have to come from under, I have sometimes built a 2x frame of sorts. If fact, for my upcoming greenhouse project I plan on using the forks to lift/hold in place until fully supported. That will require a frame the full length and 5-6 ft out from forks. I’ll fasten to the forks with metal bands for stability.

58° right now...high in the low 80's today...no rain for the next few days...reckon I'll give the lawn a trim starting this afternoon...

Yesterday's work went OK...lot's of joking around...mainly on getting a "dead man switch" for in my office. Rather sardonic humor, but my sense of humor is also pretty sardonic...
I have a lot of catching up to do after missing a full week's work....audits coming up and I'm behind on my audits

I noticed my right foot was swollen when I took a shower....going to have to watch that as it's one of the warning signs listed on my 4 pages of instructions from the hospital. I will be going my primary care physician next week. If it's still swollen, I'll see what he says...

Like yesterday, I woke way too early (about 0200) this morning. I guess this is due to two reasons...I'm sleeping on a recliner in the living room since it makes my breathing easier...and, when at the hospital, I was awakened multiple times at night so the nurse could check my vitals.

Guess that's all for now

Prayers for all

good morning all
hot sunny day here, up to low 90's.

need to make a run to gas station for lawn mower gas and then home to wash my car.
No other plans other than dinner at friends tonight where I bought some of the aged beef steaks at Giant
as a house present. Never had aged beef, curious to see if I can tell the difference. For 20 bucks a pound I hope so.
Still cheaper than ordering at restaurant, and my friends will be serving potatoes and beets from their garden, from plants I gave to them.

my shoulder is feeling better this morning. Think I have turned the corner, after three months.

hope you all have a nice day.

First cup of coffee is cooling. 65° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° mostly clear skies. Cut side field and 6 trips around back field yesterday. 10 more to go. Will give that a try tomorrow when temperatures will be in the 70's. Going to mow grass today. One of my neighbors needs a new engine for his JD 757 mower. Going to help him find one that will fit. Garden pond needs maintenance also. Then get in out of the heat.

Alien, When I built my garage many years ago I went with two 9' wide doors. I can always get 2 vehicles inside. They are always far enough apart to open doors without hitting walls or other car.

Roy, hope you are feeling better. A friend had COPD. Seemed like smoke and anything else would affect his breathing. He learned to avoid those environments. Even cutting lawn made him sick.

Buckeye, I removed awning from my motorhome by extending it. Then putting a pin in roller to lock it in place. Had 2 others helping with removal and install. David's suggestion using pallet forks would have made it easier. Should be videos out there on how to do this project.

Buppies, good paver is getting repaired. How is your hand doing?

Thomas, if you have not price material for roof repairs yet. Be sitting down when you check prices out.

Ken, neat pictures.

PJ, sure hope things will workout with step son.

Randy, write them words down. When I took the test last year told Dr. I do this forum and moderate 2 others. He said show me. Think he gave me a pass when saw what I do.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good morning
It’s 68 with a high of 85 predicted for today. No rain.

Yesterday I accomplished nothing other than the trip to Richmond.

Today, I’m planning to mow. First I’ll hook up the Progressive and tow that around all the open area, the do around the edges and obstacles with the Lazer, then put the 3PT 90” Landpride on and do inside the small pastures. If I get all that done, it will have killed most of the day, especially if I wait a while to start for the dew to dry up.
Should be a fun day, maybe the grandson while ride along for some of it.

Ron, awesome picture, did you take that in a kind of portrait mode?
seems like a perfect representation of summer
fly away bee, don't land on me

Popgadget, what a great day to be outside, bright blue sky day I hope. You'll be in a/c anyway... (y)
watch for critters

Buckeye, how about clamping a piece of lumber or angle iron to the tips of the forks and hanging the awning from that?
I have found that it is much easier to maneuver something that is hanging as compared to being supported from below.
What does the awning weigh?

Roy, hope you are feeling better. A friend had COPD. Seemed like smoke and anything else would affect his breathing. He learned to avoid those environments. Even cutting lawn made him sick.
I'm considering wearing some type of mask or respirator when I'm mowing...
The COPD isn't real bad...yet. But, there's no cure...just some medications that can alleviate the symptoms (inhalants)

66 and felt cool outside earlier with some low ground fog. We had a sunrise like yours yesterday, Ron...local weatherman says it's some smoke from RNG's fires.

Roy, hope you get better.

Buppies, good news on the paver.

Yesterday, got a nice 5 mile walk, dump run, and roasted 2 batches of coffee.

Good Morning!!!! 76F @ 5:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 101F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
On a fire related weather note, for the past few days the Dixie Fire has generated a pyrocumulonimbus cloud overhead, and yesterday it had two of them going at once. For the first time, one of them generated lightning strikes, but no word yet if that started additional fires. Too much smoke to tell, but an overnight overflight with an IR equipped airplane was scheduled.

Speaking of Dixie, as of last night it had grown another 10,000 acres, to a little more than 40,000. Still spreading north, but also east and west. CalFire is cutting containment lines, and contingency lines behind those. More evacuations were ordered in the immediate area, and warnings went out for the Lake Almanor area ten miles to the north. They're not very optimistic about being able to stop it at this point, as the forecast calls for more of the same wind and temperature wise.

Smoke wise, the Tamarak Fire near Lake Tahoe also reached 40,000 acres, the Sugar Fire in northeastern California has grown to a little more than 100,000 acres, while Oregon's Bootleg fire topped 300,000 acres yesterday. The Inciweb site is helpful in keeping track of them all. Smoke here the past few mornings was so thick there was no sun, red or otherwise. It was like being in a very heavy fog bank, without the dampness.

2021-07-19-FireCloud.jpg

By late afternoon the wind had blown the smoke away and it was safe to go outside again. By 5PM the fire cloud was well established, and was visible again from the front porch. What a monster!

21-07-19 3 Chinooks.jpg

Many of the aircraft fighting the fire are using nearby Chico and Oroville airports for reloading fuel and retardant. This is a flight of three Chinooks, I think flown by National Guardsmen.

Blackhawk.jpg

This Blackhawk, also a National Guard 'copter, was flyin' pretty low for some reason.

2021-07-19-Boeing Vertol 234.jpg

This is a newer Boeing twin rotor. Several of these are on the fire.

Screen Shot 2021-07-19 at 4.39.43 PM.png

This is a screen shot from the FlightTrader24 website showing a DC10 VLAT run targeting the ridge west of Bucks Lake. It's based out of McClellen Air Force Base near Sacramento, and gets one drop per run. It carries a lot, but also takes a long time to make a trip. Two smaller jets, one an MD85, and another 4 engine job, are in and out of Chico in a half hour. Even smaller S2 turbo props are using Chico as well. The don't hold nearly as much, but there are four of them, they're very maneuverable, and they can make drops the larger planes can't. The helios can stay on site a long time because they're dipping water out of nearby lakes and rivers. With all of that, though, it's still not enough to put the fire out, and barely enough to slow it down.

I was running out of places to find the leak in the smaller water line when I tested the two pipe joints for the pressure gauge. Both were leaking. Tightening one stopped it, I had to redo the Teflon tape on the other to get it to seal. I'll know this morning if that's the last of it.

Talked to a vendor for the Ethernet extenders yesterday, and got an order in. More than I wanted to pay, but I'd rather that than get a cheap price and be fussing with it when it breaks.

A news story broke yesterday that PG&E filed a report with the CPUC revealing that a tree falling into a power line is the likely cause of the Dixie Fire. PG&E stock fell another 6% yesterday.

Good morning! Cloudy skies 71˚F heading only to the mid 80s with a 50% chance of rain. The 1/2" rain yesterday afternoon cooled things off.
Mostly I see you used your fast bike for the Paris ride.
Wngsprd how many pounds of coffee are in each batch. I'm still just buying whole roasted beans and fresh grinding them each morning.

My composting barrel is on it's last batch. Just too many flies and insects are attracted. I put screen in the air holes but they must get in by the lid. Rain water also gets in by the lid and it gets too wet causing it to smell.

The dew is really heavy this morning, I hope it dries and I can mow the back yard before the 50% afternoon showers.
On the cards H&F front I slipped to 4th place last week and did not improve my ranking with only 3 wins last night.
I need to sharpen the chain saw for cedarciding tomorrow.
