Billy, hope you are doing better each day and nice that you are back to what you love going on those long walks.
Buppies, stay strong, keep smiling and watch the heat May all that pavement go exactly where it belongs today.
Paving in the middle of summer. Takes a tough crew.

looking out my window at the small raised veggie garden, now showing
two little eggplants growing with lots more purple flowers.
My goal is to get six out of two plants but we shall see.
4 are already pledged. Eggplant is not my favorite thing but I think
they are neat to grow.

off to go use a long handled pole pruner I found in the garage when I got here, a rusty mess, which I restored and now
it operates well. One junk tree along lane has shot out a branch that just has to go as it reaches for the power lines.
Lot lighter and easier to use than Echo power pole pruner for sure, but only for little stuff.
I just liked bringing it back to life.

72°F and clear-ish skies this morning, going up to 91° today.

Got about half of the mowing done yesterday evening after work. Might have gotten more done, but stopped to help the boy move some stuff, then he started getting chatty. Had to finally walk away, mumbling like an old man about getting the mowing done. That kid talks too much. No wonder he never gets anything done on time. Was planning on finishing it this evening, but the people who forecast the weather must have gotten wind of that and dashed it for me with rain coming in a day earlier now, supposedly starting around 4pm. Figures.

Nice new mower, Drew. Congrats! You're a tractor owner again.

Kyle, there was a band in the '80s called Roxanne who did a great cover of that Wild Cherry song. A band I was in back then used to play their version.
My Wife made some excellent chicken pot pie a couple of months ago. It was her first time making it, and she nailed it.
Congrats on your son's test scores. That gets attention. I scored very high on the ASVAB test my junior year (highest in the school, and 3rd in the state), and the recruiters were hounding me relentlessly for a couple of years after that. The Air Force recruiter must have stopped by the house 3 or 4 times that summer alone, since he was "just in the neighborhood."

I had a powder blue leisure suit when I was a youngster in the early '70s. It even had bell bottom pants. I thought I was the cat's meow. I was always into rock music, and hated disco. But, I always wore Levi's big bell jeans in junior high and high school.
I had no idea what a "budgie jacket" was until today, Eric. However, I've been a fan of the Welsh band Budgie since the '70s. Does that count?

I did that a few years ago with several of my Wife's grandfather's tools that had been sitting in the barn and the tool shed rusting for decades. Cleaned them up and oiled them, and we're using them again. She gets tickled any time she uses something of his. She was definitely grandpa's favorite, and everyone in the family knew it.

Can't believe I waited this long to get a battery grease gun...used it yesterday for a couple of hours and what a difference it made. I did overdo the reaching/crawling underneath/moving things and am a bit sore in my surgery area...so wife is saying "I told you so." She's good, she only says it once or twice, then moves on.

Can your wife teach my wife the “then moves on” part of that lecture.

When my wife starts, I say “oh, lecture number 2 again”

I guess I gotta try a battery grease gun one of these days. Being a gun, MD probably requires a permit.

72°F and .13 inches rain.

Now that I have my fittings, i’ll finish the shower plumbing this morning. I also picked up a bag of thinset so likely will do the durock joints.

This afternoon is H&F. Can the guys reclaim their rightful place or continue their slide????

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

The saga of the awning, trucking company called and said the truck didn’t go out but I’d get it tomorrow. She said he won’t back in the driveway. Ten minutes later the driver called and was ten minutes away and asked if I was home. I said yes and do you mind backing in the driveway it’s 16’ wide? He said he’d already looked at it on google maps and he’d be glad to. Got here and backed in like the pro he is, all the way to the garage door, then got out and unloaded it by himself and slid into place. And a really nice guy to boot. I was worrying for no reason.

We got .08” of rain last night from a storm that petered out just west of us. 94 feeling like 108 now.
I got the mowing job done early, grass was wet but cut pretty well. Not use to the mower yet, ran out of gas with about two feet left to mow.

Cleaning ladies are here so I’m staying out of the way.

Have a good one.

Mine weren’t plaid, but they were doubleknit bell bottoms.

I had a couple of leisure suits and a Nehru jacket and a couple of those shirts with the blousey sleeves and pattern on the front, looked like a cross between Porter Wagoner and Elton John.
