Was still having trouble with the soft start yesterday when I decided to take everything off of the A/C unit, compare the factory wiring with the diagram that came with the soft start, and make my own diagram that looked like the parts I had in my hands and was labeled with the actual color of the wires I was working with. Followed my diagram and had it working in twenty minutes. ……Maybe I can find them selling for less somewhere, now that I know what to look for.

That is not unlike my experience with the first one I installed. Once I decided to just follow the schematic instead of the directions, all was well. I think the typical dirt road is not connecting the run winding to the capacitor via the surestart. If you leave the capacitor connected to the run winding directly, it won’t work.
Did you figure out where you went wrong?
I get them here-

Spent some time fussing with the craftsman mower, doesn’t want to stay running. Maybe I’ll drain tank just to be sure no water, grrrrrr.
So later start than anticipated and did get plumbing connected, but won’t pressure test until tomorrow, then I can close it in and do the thinset. Yea, I know I could have just done the other walls today, but justified my procrastination by wanting to make just a single batch.

I did have pairs of boots with the straps connecting to the rings on each side. I had black ones and I had tan ones too. I had Chukka Boots in Middle School.

Picked up lawn mower battery from Costco, could not find U1R, just U1. Used it anyways, just had to a strench the red wire to solenoid..
Now I don’t have to jump start it.
Still want to change the oil in the morning.

Mowed lawn and most of field until dark. Left the back that can’t be seen from house. Tomorrow Quick trip to take riding mower to Ohio. I’ll be “flying” thru Washington PA on 4 wheels popgadget.

On way home from work , someone decided to park their RV trailer on top of the guard rail in the center medium on I70.

I’ve been gone a few days.

Today, I changed the hydro oil, hydro filters, oil and filter and air filter in my ZTR. The filters were almost 3x the cost last time I had to change. From $7.59 a filter to $30 a filter. Wow!

Anyway, the changing went fine. It’s really kind of easy which suits my abilities to be honest. It was a nice distraction from work.

My wife and I have been too busy at the tennis facility. Lots of business and lots of associated issues. People issues are the worst. We pay $15/hr for people to sit at the front desk and sell snacks, beverages and collect court fees. That’s $30,000 per year. Apparently, in today’s environment, that is not enough to motivate anyone. Oh well.

Hope everyone’s been well.

up early, enjoying my first cup of coffee and groaned when I looked at weather forecast.
94 degrees today, who knows what heat index will be.

off to lumberyard early this morning to pick up a backer board for the water filter system going in next week.
This part I can do and not have the plumber paid over a hundred bucks an hour to do light carpentry.
Tinsman lumberyard has a 2x3 leftover piece they said they would give me for free.
Nice that I was once married to owner's sister...am well taken care of. And this will be the first time in a year their office at the lumberyard
is open and I can go in and poke around for hardware, screws, etc. For the last year you called in and they put your lumber out by front door so you could
pick it up. I've had a charge account there maybe 50 years?... All of the kids in their family went to school with my family and we have all known each other all our lives,
and our parents were on the school board together for many years. Small town stuff. But it sure will be nice to shake their hands again.

Figured when it was miserably hot this afternoon, good project to work in basement where it's about 65 degrees. Ahhhh.

71F and mostly cloudy @ 04:30, calling for a high of 79F today with 80% chance of thunderstorms. Under an Active Flash Flood Watch.

Woman "finished up" weeding northwest planting bed yesterday, then I raked it out and tweaked it a bit. Then she went back and did even more weeding ...

I worked in some Soil Sulphur around each of the four rhododendrons, watered that in, and pruned the largest one so it isn't quite so leggy.

Mowed around the edge of the bed. The edge will need sprayed, Sunday will be the earliest I can get to it (due to rain)

Hauled the last of the weeds and debris up and put it on the compost pile.

Refilled hopper feeder. Cleaned out and filled hummingbird feeder and rehung it, also refilled suet feeder that goes on that pole.

Glued another cross on the other end of the second bed watering rig. Next will be to glue on the tees on that have the risers with the sprinkler heads on them ... but I need to cut some short lengths of pic to do that. Missing one fitting that I need to complete it, that will be on the Menards order I'm about to place.

The Woman fixed some Johnsonville Kielbasi links and pan-fried zucchini with a crispy breading for dinner which I thought were fantastic. She claimed they had no "taste" ... I think it's her ...

Looks like we have about a dozen yellow squash on the vine ... (y)

On the agenda for today:

1. Rebuild curl cylinder and get that installed back on the tractor.

2. Possibly do a little clean up in the shop.

3. Change oil and filter on Cub.

4. Place Menards order.

5. Feed fish ... which I didn't get to yesterday.

6. Draw more water for partial water changes.

Looking forward to the upcoming 4 day period where they aren't calling for rain.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

First cup of coffee is cooling. 65° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68° with rain most of the day. Got started on moving furniture around in living room. Going to need help doing this. Furniture is very heavy. Grocery shopping this morning. Then need to do some cleanup in shop.
This is only lilley that made it to full bloom this year. A bug and deer have done them in.

74 with a little ground fog, going to 94 and juicy.

Living at the beach growing up, we were into surfing, skateboarding, and foosball, and music was southern rock, blues, then reggae and beach music...of course, always liked classical music since I was a kid...looked at disco with suspicion. ;)

My wife and I were dancing the shag just a few weeks ago at the wedding.

BEF, I still haven't found the right sized battery for my generator. Last time I used it just pull started it...of course I had a lot of practice pulling with my splitter. Glad you got one to at least fit. Have a safe trip.

Eric, even though I spent a couple of hours greasing, seems like most of the time spent is wiping excess grease off, and crawling into position to get to the crazy location of the zerks. I told my wife we'd go broke if I had to make a living doing this.

Good morning, sunny and going to be well into the 90's again today.
Got the last of the black eyed susans planted and some weeding done before I started to melt.

Bambi Saved! This morning while walking the dog I heard a LOUD braying. A fawn got stuck in some welded wire behind my garage. Dog and I went to investigate. Dog was actually pretty calm and I tied her to the coal bin and pulled the fawn out. She ran off, followed by her mom, who stopped about 20 feet away and turned around after baby was away and gave me a look that seemed to say thank you.

Found out that Lumberville PA is named for Tinsmen lumber Drew.

Stay safe and be well

Good Morning
It’s already 78 and going into the middle 90’s today.
Yesterday was hot and humid as well.

Yesterday’s project was to defrost the large upright freezer in the shop. The hard part is emptying it, a lot went into coolers, some went down to my son’s. The defrosting itself is easy, there is a switch to reverse the cycle like a heat pump so the inside gets warm and the (normally) condenser coils get cold. Got 5 coats of finish on the last speaker for a while. Then off to Martha’s Vineyard late in the afternoon.

Wednesday, youngest son and I cleaned up a lot of overhanging branches around the perimeter hedgerows that interfered with the tractor cab. Used a combination of the Makita pole saw, Chainsaw and Stihl GTA26. All battery power. Everything worked so well that I ordered the Makita 24” hedge trimmers to add to the collection.

Today will be in the shop completing the speaker and hiding from the heat, rehearsal tonight, maybe some cleaning and organizing in between.

70°F and rain this morning, going up to 81° today with rain pretty much all day.

As I was driving home from work yesterday, I could see a pretty decent sized storm dumping rain in the general direction of home. By the time I got there, the rain had moved on but everything was soaked and there were puddles everywhere. No more mowing this week. One of the dogs had taken her place downstairs, hiding from that mean old thunder. A couple of the storms that rolled through over the next few hours were rather active. Made it a tough night to get anything done in the studio.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 96F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Heavy smoke again this morning, enough that the air monitor inside had turned a sickly greenish yellow. Plugged in the air filter, which took a sniff and went to work. I should probably get a replacement filter for it on order; it's gonna be a long, hot, and dirty summer. The outside air quality monitor is showing "Hazardous for healthy people", so I'll do inside stuff this morning until the winds switch and blow the smoke away to the north.

I had a pair of electric blue polyester pants with matching color polka dotted shirt in junior high school. Never was into bell bottoms. I stopped listening to Bee Gees music when they came out with Stayin' Alive.

Nice rescue, Ken. Pretty flowers, too.

FWIW, I wormed the battery leads outside the case of the Honda generator here, Billy, and hook it to an old motorcycle battery with jumper cables when I'm too lazy to use the recoil starter.

plumbersNightmare.jpg

After the smoke cleared yesterday morning, I went up to the water tank and installed enough fittings to close off that end of the lines. Bit of a plumber's nightmare, but it'll look fine once the dirt is back into the trench. I was a few fittings shy of being able to finish up the down hill end, so made a run to town.

dixieSmokeCloud.jpg

Once I got up over the edge of the canyon, I got my first look at the smoke cloud from the Dixie Fire. Not nearly as big as the one the Camp Fire put up, but impressive none the less. It was even more visible from Chico, even though farther away. The fire doubled in size again, reaching 5000 acres with very little containment. I did read that they were able to get dozers on part of the fire line yesterday, so hopefully the numbers will improve. The smoke is so heavy they couldn't get fixed wing tankers over the fire, but the air was full of the constant buzz of helicopters, including the dual rotor Chinooks. New evacuation orders were issued for a couple of small settlements along Highway 70 in the Feather River Canyon, though CalTrans still thinks the road itself is still open. Tried contacting the organizer of this weekend's camp out to ask if he had cell service at the campground, but since he's not returning the call it's unlikely he does. Betweenn that and the smoke, I think I'll just stay home.

In town, seems like about half the people are still wearing masks, mostly store clerks, but other shoppers, too. Only about half the folks in this county have gotten vaccinated, in spite of all the government publicity.

The new gate opener is acting up, again, seeming to forget if the gate is open or shut and activating the mechanism in the wrong direction. Might be a charging problem, as it uses more power than the old one and the solar panel might not be keeping up. What next?

Installed pressure gauges on the down hill side of the water pipes from the new tank when I got home; today I'll put some air in the lines and see if they hold. Hopefully get an inspection scheduled so I can start filling in the trenches.

TGIF gang!🍻

It is humid.
Got oil changed in the mower, and loaded on the trailer.
Took shower and still sweating.
Taking everything to change all hydro oil and filters on L5030, but just may be too hot.
Can’t find my L5030 manual.
Dad has no AC, so house will be hot also.
