Good morning!!!!

warm and sticky, headed out to water some droopy plants I saw. May have to repot several of them, I don't want to have to hand water every two days.

I have a fun lobster story which I hope I haven't told here before.
About ten or twelve years ago my wife and I chartered a 48 foot motoryacht in the BVI's
with another couple, a childhood friend who had gotten me into boating way back when.
It was nice to have two competent captains onboard so we each could take turns.

So the ladies want to go out to dinner on one of the islands, working on the name, and we all thought great night out.
Restaurant at top of long hill above marina. It was really hot out and I was sweating even after taking a shower before dinner.
But no, my oh so dear and economical friend didn't want to spend the money on the cab, let's walk.
I didn't want to argue so ok. That black volcanic like pavement must have been 150 degrees and by the time we got to the top, after having
had to stop several times, we were all about ready to wring my friend's neck as my shirt is now soaked through.

Big smile and in we go to dinner. Menus come out. My friend's wife says oh wonderful, I want a lobster, I've been waiting for one.
I think this was only our second night out. What, can't you find something less expensive, yadda yadda yadda. Well, she could, and did,
and my wife was livid when she got home. We joked about that lobster for years and years.

But now I think 12 years later it's time to right the wrong, correct the karma in the heavens.
I emailed my wife's friend where I'm going for a July 4 picnic that I was bringing something she left on an island.
A tough clue. Well she left that lobster on the island, so I've been talking with the seafood mgr of the fancier of the two local supermarkets and he
was quite sure he could fix me up with a steamed two pounder to go. So my surprise for the July
4th barbecue will be the prodigal lobster, finally coming home.

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 7:30AM. Sunny. Record high temperatures expected. High near 105F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Excessive Heat Warning continues through Wednesday, and we're now in an Exceptional Drought condition. Last night it only made it down to 85F, and the A/C ran most of the night. Every day sees new fires break out with Full Wildfire Response: ground and air crews scrambling to put it out before it spreads into something they can't handle. So far, locally at least, they've been successful. Most have been man caused: Idiots using lawnmowers on dry grass or running defective catalytic converters that spew white hot particles onto the roadsides. Thanks to someone writing down a license plate number, the last one of those idiots will be getting a huge fine for the cost of putting out the flames.

Beautiful lily, Ron. The deer out here would love it! The neighbors are complaining that they're even eating the deer resistant plants like lavender and sage because all the grasses and even the weeds are all brown and dried out.

That's a good report on the Makita, Paul. I wasn't impressed with the chain that came on the regular Makita chainsaw, so put an 18" bar on it and switched to a Stihl chain. Cuts really well now. Still have to see if the Makita Stihl pole saws use the same chain. I sure hope so.

I had ambitions of doing some outside work yesterday, but never quite made it out of the house. Did some paperwork first thing that dragged out, and next thing I knew it was in the mid 90s. I'm going to get an earlier start today.

Tried a new pizza crust recipe yesterday, this time letting the yeast set ten minutes in warm water before being incorporated into the dough. Came out nice and crisp on the bottom thanks to the pizza steel, but because I turned off the propane too early, it was a white crust on top. Still good though.

I also used the label maker to put stickers on the drone controller so I could remember what each of the buttons do. The controller is black, and the labels the factory puts on it are engraved into the plastic, which makes them almost impossible to read. I used tape with white letters on a clear background, and now they're easily seen. I also tried flying on a low controller battery, and lost contact with the drone when it got kinda high. Just the video went out, so I was able to get it back down OK, but it was an anxious time before I could hear the buzz again. It's supposed to have an automatic return to home function that kicks in after 11 seconds of lost contact, but it didn't kick in since the controls were still working. It's also very difficult to see the iPad screen in sunlight, and standing in the shade under the eves of the house cuts down on signal strength, too. Charging the battery fixed the problem, so now I'll just plan ahead and get everything on the charger the day before I want to fly.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...
Can't take any risks with a drone. I need a new one. I have 3 x autonomous ones I made myself. I haven't lost one yet. CASA are going to introduce a yearly fee over here. They don't like drones or model aircraft. Yet they allow auto food delivery drones to fly all over the cities. They pay fees I guess.

Morning all,
Got the halve bench into place, will need to carve the legs a bit so they stay stable.
More tree cutting from the dead ash and this morning, rock patrol. removed quite a few from new trail around the dead ash trees. Lots of cuts and saw nose keeps locking up, stopping chain. :-(

Too hot, pool time.

Stay safe and be well

Must clean my air-con filter more frequently. It was totally clogged. Wondered why the thing wasn't blowing like it should.

As seen, working just nice as can be.
I posted as Free on CL and nice young family guy picked it up, gushing gratitude. Has an uncle that does electronics.

I took advantage and had him help me lift new set.

After lunch I’ll attach wall mount brackets and install.
