11' 11" in diameter, 14' tall at the manway. The documentation sez it'll hold 10,300 gallons...

W0W, can see how that could be a challenge finessing into place. Good job.

I see where the new Alzheimer drug could cost up to $56,000 a year.
After insurance co pay would be only $11,500 yearly. A Memory Care home in Texas is $54,000 yearly.

"The drug will be administered through infusions every four weeks, resulting in a yearly cost of about $56,000, the companies said. That's the list price, which doesn't necessarily reflect the out-of-pocket costs for someone who has insurance and/or Medicare. Preliminary estimates suggest patients' copayments for the drug could cost around $11,500 annually.

In defense of that high cost, Biogen and Eisai point to the huge amounts of money required to take care of someone with Alzheimer's disease.
"

The way I see it the drug does a good job of stopping the plaque ( the cause) but cannot restore the follicles of memory that which were lost. So it is and is not a cure. That is why some thought it should not be accepted. It may not avoid memory loss and thinking problems, one study showed it helped one did not.

" This drug actually affects an underlying disease process by reducing the amount of sticky amyloid plaque that builds up in the brain. The catch is that removing this plaque may not actually help patients avoid memory loss and thinking problems. One big study showed that it did. Another showed that it didn't."

Another study is starting.
Bird were you interested in joining that study?
Free medicine and it's already known that it reduces the amount of sticky amyloid plaque - the underlying cause of the disease.

Just had some homemade lemon oatmeal cookies and homemade corn chips and they tasted good together. My next batch of corn chips will incorporate the two together to form a new chip.

A beautiful blue sky this afternoon, with dropping humidity, 77 and feels great.
We got the awning drained, I filled a garden hose and took off the nozzle and put the open end in the low spot, Ellen cut off the water and removed the other end, siphoned like a champ! Got the support arms off and retracted the canvas into the cassette and out of the way. I’ve got all my estimates, pics turned in and waiting for the adjuster to come document the damage to the siding and light fixture, on Tuesday.

Good Afternoon
Today started at in the low 60’s and made to 70 so far. It’s been partly cloudy with a gentle breeze. It’s starting to dry out from yesterday’s 1-1/2” rain, which curiously the Tempest, Davis and cylinder all agreed on.

Yesterday was a great day here, even though it was gray and drizzling. My youngest son now has a fiancé. Here’s an example of one of his “ Burma Shave “ signs-
IMG_2744.jpg

What is most impressive is that prior to this project he has never painted anything, and just sat down and created a series of signs.

After that excitement, my progress in the shop was pretty anticlimactic. Band rehearsal went pretty well to end the day.

Today my neighbor came over with his Bobcat zero turn mower, and wanted me to modify the foot pedal that raises the deck. So we took it off and cut a wedge out of the square tubing and welded it back together. It moved the pedal forward almost 3”, which he said made it much more comfortable.

I considering doing some mowing, but if I check the forecast for tomorrow and it’s dry, I’ll wait for it to dry up a bit more.

Is the end word of the next sign bride?
Congratulations to your youngest!

txdon asked, "Bird were you interested in joining that study?"

Only if my doctor recommended it. I get my medications at Walmart for the most part and a one month supply of Memantine costs me $5 and they show cash price would be $38.96, the Donepezil costs me $5 also, but they show cash price would only be $9. Everything I've read so far indicates these medications do the same thing (work the same way) that new, high priced one does. Now I have no idea how much of this stuff Walmart sells, but they have it in stock to immediately fill such prescriptions. And they're both just pills you take at home; the Memantine one pill twice daily and the Donepezil once daily at bedtime.

I am curious to hear your doctors take on Aduhelm now that it has been conditionally approved. If nothing else this has raise the concern for new Alzheimer's drugs.

75F and "Fair" @ 21:45, headed down to 66F in the overnight. High today hit 87F and it felt like it ... 🥵

Filled hopper, two sunflower tube, one suet and one nyjer feeder. Cleaned out birdbath and refilled, next time it will be bleach and a scrub brush. Fished one (empty) suet feeder out of back gutter. Also straightened up leaning pole for the nyjer feeders. Emptied new bag of sunflower seeds into container.

Filled water buffalo.

Cleaned fertilizer off pallets and moved pallets up near wood pile.

Moved PT lumber and got the area where it had been sitting cleaned up/mowed down/graded.

Finished clean up/grading on soil screening area and positioned the screener in the opposite direction which will probably speed things up a little.

Got most all sticks in the compost/wood lot "lawn" area picked up with pick up tool.

Finished mowing compost/wood lot.

Mowed upper front.

Waffle House chili for dinner ... 😋

Screened some composted soil.

Visited with the two cattle who came over to see what I was doing ...

Watered new grass on end of problem root area that gets a little sun. Will water the rest tomorrow.

Adjusted front light on Cub.

Swept up fertilizer and dumped it in a bucket until I can get around to spreading it.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Not a productive day. Ended up having to run everything for the memorial service. Almost Everything was done different than what we went over last week, but it turned out nice. Fortunately I have a good flexible setup.

I left when they started a meal afterwards, I went to the local Lions club pit beef/pork sandwich fundraiser and got lunch, came back to building and ate on our picnic tables in the back.

Got home at 2, had to be back at church at 6 for a meeting, so took a nap and watched YouTube. It takes me about 25 minutes to drive to the building. Got home again after 8 pm.

My wife got back from visiting her mom. Her mom wants me to go thru the barn and get anything I want, then she’s going to auction the rest. He has a fair amount of tools, but I really don’t need any of what he has. I am buying his BX kubota which has backhoe, loader, mower, and front blade, so I need to put all that aside so the chains etc stay with it. I’m in no rush to bring it home, figure to keep it there and use it there. She won’t mow with it, but rather use a push mower, no wonder it’s too much for her to take care of.

Somewhere he has a surveying transit I might want.

Coffee is brewing. 69° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with partly cloudy skies. Mowed and trimmed grass yesterday. Then went over to neighbors and cut all the trim pieces for countertop. He is staining and putting varnish this morning. Will put trim in place this afternoon and take pictures.
Little bit of an event while mowing grass yesterday. A turkey had her brood of little ones under pine tree in front of house. Spooked them with the mowing. She went one way with half the chicks. The other half went out into road. Took a few minutes. But was able to get all of them back to the hen.

Randy, hope insurance adjuster takes good care of repairs for awning.

Drew, hope you get garage door to open. Maybe power has been out for a while. The battery is dead. Take power to garage opener off GFI if it is on one.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

The Dallas Morning News this morning has a story about doctors being divided on this matter. I agree that it's good that this has raised awareness and concern for new Alzheimer's drugs, but I don't know just when I'll see my doctor again. I don't go see doctors unless I have to.:D:D

Good morning, 60 for a low and 79 for the high today. Wind E 5 mph. 40% chance of T-storms late this afternoon.

By the time it rains I should be most of the way to Kirkland Lake, ON. I'll leave here in about 4 hours and go get fuel, DEF and slick packs for the 5th wheels, then get my wagons and load. The load delivers at 7 A.M. Monday morning, if no rain.
There is rain in the forecast for Monday up there, but that is the chance we take. I carry food with me, so I wont starve.

I will check in whenever I have the chance and internet access.

Have a safe summer all

53° right now...high right around 80 today.

Tried to get those belts (3 required) on the Caroni flail mower. There's a spring loaded idler and two fixed pulleys. I can see this is going to be a bear to get the belts installed. It looks like I'll have to use a crowbar or something like that to pull the belts over the pulleys.
I'll post this topic on attachment forum too...maybe some other Caroni flail mower owners can offer some advice to ease the job.

After mowing and string trimming yesterday, I watched a WW II Navy flick, "They Were Expendable"....
