62°F and light rain this morning, going up to 72° today.
Busy weekend here. Just finally got caught up.
Saturday was a loss here, cool and rainy on and off all day. I did get in a trip to Centralia IL to pick up new blades for the rider and the zero turn mowers.
Sunday was sunny and warmer, and we took that fortune to mean we should go kayaking. We went to Silver Lake in Highland IL again, but ventured further north past the I-70 overpass this time. We paddled a total of about 5.25 miles round trip, which took about 4 hours. We stopped around noon, tethered the kayaks together again, and had a floating lunch. Paddled a little further after that, then turned around and headed back. It was about 70°F and sunny with a slight breeze, absolutely perfect weather. I was smart enough to wear a hat this time.
Got the blades changed on the zero turn Monday morning. Wife told me it was vibrating on one side last weekend. When I looked, there were some decent chunks missing on the blade edges, so I just figured I'd replace them rather than trying to grind them down and resharpen. When I got the old blades off yesterday, there were some serious chunks missing from the side edges of the left blade. No wonder it was out of balance. Got most of the lawn mowed after that, including her new "play yard" in the pasture.
Long weekend of doing things we love to do, thanks to those who did things that needed to be done. It's impossible to repay that kind of debt.
Kyle, I know a few people who use the Line 6 Power Cabs with their Helix modelers and like them a lot. I've not used one, but I'm told they can get very loud. I'm not really a big fan of the "flat response" products. That's pretty much a unicorn in the loud speaker world. It's a great marketing tool, though.
Hope you get past whatever you have, Roy.
Ken, the new guitar bug bites hard, and often. Good luck with that.
