Roy, a quick prayer for you.

Got down to 49, 67 now and 78 later they say with clouds moving in. Supposed to be cloudy and warm all week with several chances for rain.
We had Ellen’s kids over for a cookout Monday, nice visit. We had my kids and grandkids the first half of the weekend. Sometimes we have them all, but that’s a lot at one time.
I’m going to mow the back areas and give the front a couple of days to recover from the dry spell, it’s ugly, lot of clover came back during the lack of rain, but still had brown spots.

I’ve got to make a drugstore run today. Probably a little mowing but that’s not set in stone.
Have a good day.

Morning all, sunny and a bit warmer after a cold weekend.
Friday got some more trees down and got one hung up, oh well.

Went to Long Island to a beach party on Sunday, but rain, rain and inside party.
Good to see old friends, known the host since Kindergarten. He has a nice house on the north shore about a block off the beach.
We bought kid a used amp so he can start his band. a 2001-2004 Fender cybertwin , he is so happy. We got a great deal on it and I hope it lasts for a few years. Now of course he wants a new guitar!

Saturday was pool cleanup from the wind blowing lots of tree bits into pool Friday.

Went to get vines out of front and back bushes. Amazingly in less than a week of growth, was pulling many feet of vines out.

BEF - like the magically appearing Satellite dish from behind the bush.
David - that is some nice haul of cabinets!
Roy- hope you feel better soon!
TXDon-hope the knee loosens up.

Solar hot water pump failed. Order a new cartridge motor , hope that is all I need, maybe a new start capacitor.
Seems capacitor is not made by many companies, so is > $50

Hope bushes dry out enough to trim this afternoon. They need it bad.

Stay safe and be well

Rhododendron flowers dropped. How many pounds of flowers do you think this is

Good morning to all! Low this morning was 51 and a little damp. Our chances for rain were very good yesterday, but of course, we only got about 1/10". All around us there was torrential downpours and rain totals in inches..... just not here!

I am envious of all the pictures posted of beautiful green lawns and pastures.... we are still brown... just a few blades of green grasses / weeds. This 'exceptional' drought is taking its toll. I hope it rains here soon!

I have been having a couple of bad weeks.... knee is not cooperating, PT is on hold. After each of the last PT sessions, the pain / swelling increased considerably. PT is now on hold until the next visit with the surgeon at the end of the month.

So with the knee problems hampering my daily activities, I have been struggling with keeping my morale / mood in a good place. I'm maybe at 25-30% of my normal capabilities. After 4 months, I am fearful of needing another surgery to correct whatever is wrong....

On a good note, my daughter and her clan (3 grandkids), MIL, and BIL came down to visit for the holiday weekend. Had a nice BBQ on Saturday, then a nice dinner of homemade pasta and meatballs on Sunday. Everyone had a good time catching up.

Our grandson graduated from high school last week with top honors, missed valedictorian by half a point....tough to be in second place by such a short margin. That's OK, he will be moving back here in a few weeks to attend UNM on a full scholarship. We are proud of him and his accomplishments.

Not sure what I will attempt to do today, something easy, but it will be something.... got to keep moving.....

Everyone have a great day!

LS - Hope knee problems are easy fix. Don't give up as sports medicine has led to some big improvements with knee issues. Sounds like a great weekend with family and congrats to grandson, 2nd out of a whole class is a real accomplishment!

Good luck Roy.

I had no cough with the Covid, but the shortness of breath developed Over time.

how is your sense of smell and taste?

Since I had Covid, smell has never really recovered. Certain smells are strong, the rest, faint at best. Yesterday morning, my wife made corned beef hash. The smell came through strong which was great, knew what I was having for breakfast without seeing it!

good morning! 72° in Oakhurst California. A dead battery started the day yesterday but managed to get underway with a bump start. This morning will start with finding a replacement battery, hopefully.

Visited an air museum in the morning, viewing 75 some planes, including a DC nine air force one. The day ended with a very good Italian meal. My riding buddy headed home this morning, and once underway I’m going back up into the mountains where it’s cool. It was 101 Fahrenheit when we got here yesterday.

Sounds like most of you had a good holiday and have been very busy Jamacian point

62°F and light rain this morning, going up to 72° today.

Busy weekend here. Just finally got caught up.

Saturday was a loss here, cool and rainy on and off all day. I did get in a trip to Centralia IL to pick up new blades for the rider and the zero turn mowers.

Sunday was sunny and warmer, and we took that fortune to mean we should go kayaking. We went to Silver Lake in Highland IL again, but ventured further north past the I-70 overpass this time. We paddled a total of about 5.25 miles round trip, which took about 4 hours. We stopped around noon, tethered the kayaks together again, and had a floating lunch. Paddled a little further after that, then turned around and headed back. It was about 70°F and sunny with a slight breeze, absolutely perfect weather. I was smart enough to wear a hat this time.

Got the blades changed on the zero turn Monday morning. Wife told me it was vibrating on one side last weekend. When I looked, there were some decent chunks missing on the blade edges, so I just figured I'd replace them rather than trying to grind them down and resharpen. When I got the old blades off yesterday, there were some serious chunks missing from the side edges of the left blade. No wonder it was out of balance. Got most of the lawn mowed after that, including her new "play yard" in the pasture.

Long weekend of doing things we love to do, thanks to those who did things that needed to be done. It's impossible to repay that kind of debt.

Kyle, I know a few people who use the Line 6 Power Cabs with their Helix modelers and like them a lot. I've not used one, but I'm told they can get very loud. I'm not really a big fan of the "flat response" products. That's pretty much a unicorn in the loud speaker world. It's a great marketing tool, though.

Hope you get past whatever you have, Roy.

Ken, the new guitar bug bites hard, and often. Good luck with that.

Drew, I have considered that, even bought a convertible hood. Leaning against another hole thru the steel. Also concerned it could be a noise maker as that would be buffeted by prevailing wind.
