50F cloudy weather station showers rain on/off tonight every little bit helps.

Yesterday and not to long ago Mrs. started her wood furnace  been l o n g time since we burn wood this late in the year.

Gave both kittens a good ole fashion brushing and they both did some talking can only imagine what they were saying or think  sooo I guess I earn my supper tonight.

Recliner with feet up about sums my evening plans.

Enjoy your evening all.

one step closer to bringing this JACOBSEN home. a friend is hanging on to it until we can connect in a few weeks.
apparently it runs well, is loud, and seems to be a beast :) just what I was after.

RS, if you look in the cats' belly you may find your missing bird.o_O

I got the North Bay shopping trip done in 4 hours up and back. Averaged 24 mpg U.S. at 75 mph. That included the in town running, so that isn't all that bad for a 2013 Dodge Journey with the V6 VVT engine.

I found out yesterday that my orange kitten (Tom-tree Kat [Tom for short]) likes cooked carrots, but today he turned his nose up at asparagus. He really likes peanut butter, mashed potatoes and yogurt. He also likes spaghetti sauce, I give him a saucer of milk after the sauce seeing as I like it a little hot/spicy.

Yes, today is a day to reflect on the men and women that fought and died so that we could be free.

Everything was dry here when I took the garbage and the recycling bin out this morning before daylight. But then we started getting a sprinkling of rain shortly after daylight. We mostly just had off and on light rain until just before noon. When it stopped just before noon, I poured about .52" of rain out of the gauge. Then I drove up through town to see if there were any Memorial Day parades, and such, but didn't see a thing going on. It did seem that the parking lots were full at all the restaurants, and cars lined up at the fast food places, parking lots had lots of vehicles at Walmart and Sam's Club.

So I came home to watch the boob tube and kill time, but it started to rain again around 3 p.m. and before long we were getting a frog stranglin' gully washer and they broke in on the TV at least 3 times with severe weather alerts, etc. And I THINK the rain is now about over and I can see about 2.52" in the gauge.

So that brings me to just over 3" of rain today, and about 10.3" of rain and 11 rainy days for the month.

Thomas just as long as nobody thinks my boat is a bucket :)

Spent more time unloading and looking over my “new” cabinets than anticipated. Looks like they can all be used in the caretaker kitchen. Somehow I only ended up with 10 units. Missing the over the microwave upper unit and I didn’t take the quite damaged Lazy Susan corner unit, which I knew I couldn’t use. The micro wave unit as a maybe at best, not worth making a special trip.
The cabinets are all real wood/plywood, not mdf, particle board, or some other composite. The lower units will need some repair

But the uppers appear newer and in excellent shape.

Maybe the best $200 I’ve spent recently.

Did get some more sheetrock hung, maybe 6 more sheets to finish the container portion. Tomorrow

Dad enlisted as a volunteer in the R.C.A.F. 1942, his brother was rejected because he was honest and told them he'd had Scarlet fever. He went to the Army the next day and lied, he went into the tank corps and Europe. Dad was at a 'secret' base in Northern Quebec. The mail for RCAF base Baggotville, Que. went to England and then back to Quebec. They both came home and got the volunteer service medal and the brother got the European service medal as well. Neither one would say much about the war.
Dad got treed by a bear when he tried to befriend a cute little black puppy. Momma bear was not impressed. His Sgt. friend scared it off with his Thompson.
After I was born, Mom made Dad promise NEVER to teach me about guns. He was a gun plumber (Armourer) the Air force, and an instructor.
My Grandfather on Dads side got conscripted into WW1 and transferred to the R.A.F., he was a Pilot Officer when he was mustered out at the end of that war.
May they all rest in peace.

Been a miserable weekend since Saturday...aches and pains, no appetite...definitely crappy. Haven't even been on the computer since Saturday.
I looked up the symptoms of COVID and I think I'd better get tested. With the exception of coughing and shortness of breath, got all the others...

good morning all
hope you feel better soon Roy.

nice family get together last night, good food, a little too much wine...and slept pretty well afterwards.

having first cup of coffee, not very motivated, though I might make a run to nursery to get a couple rose bushes later.

David, those cabinets look super, many thousands of dollars worth for a couple hundred, good deal. Are you going to install a through the wall vent
for the kitchen exhaust?

Good morning, on the same day that Thomas's wife was firing up her woodstove we were enjoying our warmest day of the year, although it was only a modest 24C/75F.
Today could be hotter, the sheep have yet to be sheared so most are already hiding in the shade of the oaks. The few that were still out in the in the sun were in front of a closed gate and berated me for excluding them from the field behind. I tried protesting that I was only doing what the label on the herbicide demanded but they were not impressed.

Very cute picture Ron.

Sodamo, kitchen cabinets made from "real" wood and ply must be a rare find nowadays, they should look good when you have finished.

Coffee is done brewing. 46° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 76° with mostly sunny skies. Weather was almost perfect for a Memorial Day celebration. Spent time with neighbors instead of doing weed killer. Maybe today.
Forgot to post moon picture from last month. Never got full moon because of clouds.

Roy, hope you get feeling better soon.

Drew, glad you had good family get together.

David, cabinets look good.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

51 going to 80 and some sun. Yesterday was perfect.

Roy, hope its not the C virus and you feel better soon.

Eric, those sheep are lucky you are there caretaker. When's shearing time?

Finally got a chance and the right ground and weather conditions to finish bringing down a large loblolly that the ice storm had leaning over the branches of a big sugar maple. Huge grape vines, big around as my ankle, made it more of a challenge. The grapple came in handy for getting it moved from the hiking path. While I had the tractor out, tilled some, and then mowed for 3 hours...lots of catching up after we finally got a good rain Saturday.

Another nice, early summer morning. Not so seriously cold and clear as a bell.

/ Good morning!!!! #133,856
Good morning, low 49 and high 73°F. Wind W 3 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

Today I get to turn the compost pile.

Roy, let us hope that you ONLY have the flu and not the other nasty.

Most of the celestial events that everybody else sees we only get the see in the news. It is almost always clouded over or raining/snowing.
Maybe we will see the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup, Haleys Comet comes around more often than the Leafs win it.

Have a safe day all

Fingers cross on negative C19 test Roy.

Good Morning.
It’s 60 going up to 73 with clear skies.
I ordered a good old fashioned cone style rain gauge to act as a tie breaker between the Davis and Tempest. I’m betting on the Davis.

Yesterday was a wonderful day, sunny and breezy. I got all the trimming done with the Lazer, the ground was not really soggy, and the breeze dries the grass out pretty well. I still had the loader with 4-1 bucket and ballast box on the tractor, so dropped the ballast box and removed the loader, 3pt quick hitch and multi port hydraulic quick connect make those tasks fast and effortless.
Hooked up the Progressive mower and pulled it around to the shop and greased all the spindles and u-joints.
I went out to lunch, came back and cleaned out the firebox on the smoker and reloaded it for this weeks cook. Did a few other chores while the sun and wind worked their magic and dried things up. I started mowing around 5pm and got all done except for a few areas with standing water. The new blades did a great job, and still look new.

Today I’ve got to go to Akron, OH where I have to sit until 8:30 and then get to come home. Fortunately I don’t have to leave until 3, so I can get something done around here first.

Good morning! 67˚F Cloudy. 1.24" rain last night according to the Tempest weather station and 1.83" according to the COCORAHS gauge.
FireWise called off because of all the rain. Too wet to harvest the potatoes.

Woke up yesterday and could not straighten out my bum knee, still can't, looks like another knee operation in my near future, bummer.
Roy hope you get to feeling better and you don't have covid.
Ron that is a good use for the antique military vehicle, and nice textured on the moon.

Starting the community hand and foot card game last week I was in 3rd place on week 3 of the 3 month tournament. Since I only won 3 of 5 games last week I was expecting to go down to 5th to 7th place but was pleasantly surprised to see I had moved up to 1st place (out of 47 players). I guess the ones ahead of me had a worse night. Last night I won 4 of 5 so there is a good chance I was able to keep my 1st place for another week. Will find out next week when the status sheet is posted.

If it dries up by this afternoon I need to mow.
