Good MorningIts 50 headed to 70 with cloudy, but dry skies.

Yesterday was another great day, spent a good portion of it outside after gluing up and clamping a speaker.

I replaced the vacuum pump on my little plane, I’m pretty confident that the installation was designed by an engineer that caught his wife sleeping with a mechanic. 3 out of the four mounting nuts are fairly accessible, but putting a wrench on the 4th one? My hands were a bloody mess before I was finished. My hands are nowhere near as tough as they were when I was younger. But it’s done.

Today’s project will be getting the fountain in the pond, hopefully I’ll stay dry.

Searched the internet for 90 minutes and didn't find an exact replacement.

This place is local to me, but I have always gotten the motor I needed from them. My guess if you send them some pictures and dimensions, they could come up with something.

I was an aircraft mechanic in the Navy. Popgadget pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I tried out my new Makita string trimmer, pretty wimpy, should have bought their larger model even if it was heavier
since handle grip on this model puts strain on my bad shoulder even with lighter weight. I need to fuss with the head on the unit and make
sure the line is coming out all the way. Might fiddle with that today since landscapers never showed up, but shoulder hurts enough that maybe not for another day.

Does Makita offer a shoulder harness that would help take some of the weight off your arms, Drew? Stihl does, and there are lots of options on Amazon, too. Maybe you could adapt one to your Makita?

51° right now...high in the low 70's today.
Well, sent the taxes in yesterday...Grrrrrrrr!!

Tried to get the Flail mower rigged to the 4052, but one side of the mower was much lower then the other side...low enough the 3PH was too high at it's lowest travel. I'm not sure what happened there since it was dropped off my old 4520 with no problems last Fall. Maybe the ground settled (the mower is actually setting on some boards, not directly on the ground). I'll lift the lower side with the loader today. Should have done it yesterday, but I'd lent my lift lug to my neighbor a week or so back and he wasn't home yesterday. So, that's a chore for today. Of course, my tree-hugger stepdaughter insists I don't mow the field yet as there's a lot of small critters down there just emerging. If time permits, I'll just hit the area I shoot and leave the rest be for a couple weeks. I'll grant her, there's a lot of peepers and other small critters down there right now.
Speaking of my stepdaughter, she broke the water filter wrench when trying to change the filter, so a stop by Home Depot on the way home from work tomorrow is on the list. I need to stop there anyway for some 16 gauge wire (that Gator work light project I'd written about a couple weeks ago).
Did get most of the lawn mowed, so there was one success yesterday. I'll finish it and do some weed trimming today.

After mowing, I sat on the deck with our old Boxer dog, Bella. Don't think she's got much time left, and I want to give her all my time she needs

Good Morning!!!! 59F @ 5:30AM. Plenty of sunshine. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High around 85F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Mechanics and engineers. That's funny, Paul. The best engineers are also mechanics, the worst ones never got their hands dirty.

Spent most of yesterday finding a spot for the new water tank, then trying to lay out a square pad aligned with the property line. Tried winging it, but measuring the diagonals of my "square" showed it was way off. Had to brush up on my geometry, then got something that sure doesn't seem right looking at it on the ground, but that the tape measure says is correct. Which is why I'm hoping to have better luck with the drone this morning. The challenge there is to keep the drone out of the trees and adjacent power lines.

Very moist air coming in from the San Francisco Bay kept temperatures mild yesterday, and put a haze above that moderated the sun as well. It was a good day to be outside. Just wished I'd have had enough time to get the pad scraped with the box blade while the humidity is up. Once all the dead grass is off the area, I can relax a little about sparking a fire.

Thanks for the trimmer line recommendations, Rick. New head should be delivered today, new line sometime next week. I have three or four reels to get me by until the new stuff shows up, but if previous experience is any guide, I'll be going through a lot of it and putting the new bump feed to a test.

Long day yesterday, watching a big crew putting a new roof on this house. I knew they had asked to do it on a Saturday and I think I know why. . . they brought the little kids with them. I know at least one was pre-school age, but that little scamp was up on the roof, carrying trash to the front edge and throwing it down into the dumpster. And he was later down on the ground, picking up debris, and I never heard anyone telling him what to do. The wind came up which I guess made it a little cooler for workers, but also scattered debris. But I think they did an excellent job of putting on a new roof AND they did an excellent job of clean up afterwards. So they were here from just after 7 a.m. until nearly 6 p.m.; gone for just over an hour for lunch.

A few days ago, I went to pay one of my credit card bills and discovered a T-Mobile charge for more than $150.00. I have nothing to do with T-Mobile and have no idea how such a charge got on there. I first tried calling T-Mobile to see if they could tell me anything, but I never even succeeded in finding a way to talk to a human. But when I called the credit card folks, that charge was removed with no questions.

Thanks for letting us know about T-mobil. I'm about to kick Boost mobil to the curb. In store person was useless. Phone sometimes won't send or recieve text messages at all, or sometimes you get a flood of incoming all at once (that were late)....

Wife kinda gave me ok to buy a mower , was thinking the Betstco 48 heavy duty, this will semi-retire the simplicity to working only in the smaller areas and hauling tools. Can only buy one mower, so hopefully this will cover the still being opened trails and the grass areas too.

Maybe you are out of the doghouse now....hopefully for a long time.

RNG a little bit of good news on the vaccine and why the CDC lifted the mask mandate for those vaccinated.
1. It is also effective on at least two variants.
2. The small % of those vaccinated and still get the virus symptoms are diminished and almost no fatalities.
3. And the biggie - Those vaccinated cannot spread the virus.

This is much different news than posted a couple weeks ago. More inline with what I had been reading.
