RNG a little bit of good news on the vaccine and why the CDC lifted the mask mandate for those vaccinated.
1. It is also effective on at least two variants.
2. The small % of those vaccinated and still get the virus symptoms are diminished and almost no fatalities.
3. And the biggie - Those vaccinated cannot spread the virus.

Don, I am a little nervous about the CDC's record on this epidemic.

Chris
Understand. They say they are following the science. However it was a hundred years of science before the surgeon general came out with the warning on cigarets. So I would say it's a bit science and a bit of popular.

Good Morning.

67F and sunny @ 11:00, heading up to a high of 70F for the day.

80's in the Ten Day forecast starting next Thursday ... the previously predicted rain chances over 3 or 4 days have dropped to only 30% for 0.03" accumulation on a single day. More rain further out now in the forecast though.

Checked lights on Cub last night, rear light was good, front light needs aimed down a little more. Could not locate Allen wrench so that didn't happen. Will keep an eye out for it today.

Forecast is calling for "winds light and variable" today. Seems like this would be as good a day as any to start on the spraying that needs done. Hopefully the pump will cooperate, otherwise I'll probably be running down to TSC for a replacement. Forecast is similar for tomorrow as well, so it remains a possibility too.

Probably get started on weeding the planting beds and/or further garage clean up if I need a break from spraying.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

And now I'm hearing the low moaning sound of a mountain lion down below the house. Probably hoping to jump a deer for breakfast. Or a turkey, which I can also hear gobbling in the distance. Or maybe it'll be the neighbor's rooster that makes the menu, or one of their sheep or goats. They've lost a LOT of them that way.

Hope you are carrying any time you are outside.

Good luck with the banjo fitting ... I hate those kinda deals, where it's hard to reach.

RS did you get a battery charger with the cart?

Nope ... didn't even get a battery ...

Are you going to do a lithium battery replacement?

I'll probably just use a wet SLA battery from NAPA for the starting battery.

Engine is a small 2-stroke (Robin engine), made by Fuji Heavy Industries (aka Subaru)

Engine has compression but I need to stick a compression gauge on it and measure it to see how much.

If it's within spec, I'll probably go ahead and just try to get it running, otherwise tear it down and go through it.

64°F and 1.61 inches rain.

Meeting with neighbor went well and will help him thru the planning phase. I’m sure he’d appreciate help during the hands on work but I don’t need another project. We have another friend whom I’m guessing will be more than eager to be there.

Never did the milk run, so that’s still a possibility.

Major switching of gears in the caretaker project. First a major cleanup then double check wiring for possible omissions or errors, not that I’m expecting any. Then start installing insulation. Never worked with the fiber board before. Lots of cutting and fitting between the furring strips - all to save losing some width. Thankfully the bed and bathroom extensions are the usual Kraft faced, R13 rolled fiberglass, but will save that for last.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Is it one of the models that runs the engine backwards for reverse rather than use a transmission?

I believe that is the case ... based on looking at the set up and talking with a friend.

But I haven’t actually verified it.

69 now and going to 70F. Wind SW 16 mph. Sunny!
Hydro-one turned the juice back on at 12:50, only 20 minutes later than their estimate.
I'm not having good luck today, went to fire up the brand new power washer and it sputtered once and quit with a clank. Tried to pull it over and could hardly turn it, let alone pull it fast enough to actually start it. A one thousand dollar boat anchor.
I just got off the phone with the people I bought it from and they should have a replacement here on Wednesday.:)

I priced out new riding mowers and they range in price from $2500.oo to $11,600.oo. I don't think I will get a zero turn unless someone makes me an off I can't refuse. Being a cheapscape I will probably get the $2500.oo one in the fall.

Have a safe day all

Up early to get a haircut. Took truck and took along 4 gas cans.
Wife texted me to pick up new whiskey barrel half for a planter. Wife had dug dirt out of the old one because it was full of ants, discovered it was falling apart. Lowe’s had them, labeled Jack Daniels no 7. Got gas at Costco, wasn’t busy yet at 9:30 and they are $.20 cheaper than most. They had sign on pump 2 can limit. I pulled out 2 and filled, with the attendant watching me like a hawk. Stopped at another station to fill the other 2 cans at $.10 more.

Got new planter ready, full of dirt, old one moved to edge of woods for now.

Mowed all but field.

Got tiller off the Massey and put away for another year. Swept all the dirt away from where it goes.

Just now saw a hummingbird while I am Sitting on front porch relaxing.
