Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 12F this morning, and got another 4" overnight, and still snowing. First cup of coffee, watching the snow coming down. Daughter has had to shovel the decks almost every day now (she loves it!), and while we have not had large amounts each time, it is building up. Cleared the driveways from about 5" yesterday, and have to do it again. (I will maybe wait until later today, IF and when the snow stops.) The sledders are finally going to be happy, as the lake has now been staked. (Those maniacs love to speed along at 100 MPH plus.)

It is too bad that the snowmobile season is gradually getting shorter and shorter - the local economy really suffers when they don't come.

Good luck to everyone coping with the giant storms happening all across the US right now! (Gheez - all the way down to Mexico! :cold:)

35 this morning, high of 42 today, rain and thunderstorms overnight and 61ï½° by morning, falling to 50 and then 39 on Wednesday. Itç—´ like March weather.
This will teach all you Texans about making fun of the weather being cold other places! It痴 tropical here compared to y誕ll.

Buppies, that winter of ?7 was brutal, I知 glad I was 24 and not 68, I壇 of had to stay in the house.

Nursing home called 5 pm and said mom was declining rapidly and asked if I wanted to visit. Of course I wanted to see my mom, spent three hours with her. Pulse ox was 73, very shallow breathing. But within an hour she had her eyes open watching every move I made. I was holding her hand and she got a grip on my index finger that I had to work to get out of when I had to leave. But she is very near the end, how and why she痴 holding on, only she and the hood Lord know. I知 telling her that she can just let go and rest, but that isn稚 her. Strongest will I致e ever seen.

Hey, Toppop. I feel for you. My MIL was the same way. Hanging on with low Pulse ox, going way down below 50. But she was conscious and aware right up to the day before she died (January 31).

Prayers for he and you and the rest of the family.

SKI GIDDINGS!!!8F, feels like -3F
Good morning, temperature has crept up above freezing, we are returning to puddles of runny water instead of sheets of solid ice. Probably one more day left to enjoy a world without mud while the ground thaws out.C'mon you lazy pond, don't let a few measly degrees steal your heat while you just lay there chilling out, doing nothing with all that free heat below. You are just a pathetic wet hole in the ground...Toppop, how many harsh words does it take to get a Texas pond agitated ? :)
LOL. I read that, in my best Shakespearian accent to my family. We all got a good chuckle.Power has been going off, as warned, for 20 minutes each hour.I'm still feeling good, sinus and headache each morning. O2 good. Thanks for the prayers and support.Prayers for Randy's mom and family.

Good morning to all! Low of -8, going up to a balmy 12f for today. Wind just kicked up a bit, the projected wind chill is -25. That's ok, I'm not even close to going outside!

The narcotics must not have been worn off when I first got home, thinking I was going to do this and that.... yeah right.... reality has shown up... seems like I just traded one type of pain for 2 different types of pain! Hopefully these new pains will begin to subside with time and rehab.

RNG, yes, it was a full replacement.... no other choice. The surgeon told me that I had worn grooves in all the parts of my real knee.... he was surprised that I was as mobile as I was before the surgery. I told him that I was just really stubborn and I wasn't going to let one knee stop me... he chuckled.

Randy, our prayers and thoughts are with you! Your mom sounds like she is just being "mom".... wants to make sure that everything is in order before she goes. A strong will for sure! I hope that she is peaceful.

I have to go try and figure out a medication issue... the pharmacy said a prior authorization was needed, I just got an email from the insurance saying the authorization was given on Saturday..... one hand not knowing what the other is doing.....

I wonder how slow they'll let Starlink go down to, as they oversell it?
...

I wonder that also. But will hopefully stay above what I got.
I’m enjoying the YouTube videos of people tearing the antenna apart to RE it.

LS, prayers you get things straightened out with the authorizations. My surgeon only wanted me to take these big Tylenol after my gall bladder surgery.

Our power is going out, on purpose.....some have it worse. Thankful for firewood. Inlaws have an old house that is drafty. They said the inside pet water froze. Oh my.

I even let the barn cat come in. That's how cold it is down here.

Solar and wind energy my arse.

If you over agitate it, it will stop trying and you lost.

I'm just not sure the somewhat flimsy Harbor Freight winch mount will hold up to dragging trees or self rescuing the tractor should the need arise.

Yeah. I'm not an engineer but I could see a little more structure if you were going to do any heavy pulling.

Got up early this morning to a couple inches of snow and 9° for a temp.

Walked Gypsy, let the truck warm up and drove my wife to work this morning in the truck. Dropped my wife off and then went into the shop.

Just as I pulled up to the gate this morning at work, my boss calls and cancels work today

Took care of a couple things there. We had a hot shot driver waiting at the gate to drop off some equipment. And set up a couple pickups for one of our customers.

Then took the slow drive home in white out conditions.

We got another 6 to 8" of snow from around 5:40 this morning when I left the house to 10:00am when I got back home.

Saw quite a few cars getting belly hung and losing traction this morning. So unless they actually plow the secondary roads this week, my wife will be riding with me this week to get to work.

Supposed to have a similar storm come through on Wednesday. If we get the same totals as today, that will put us up to around 20" of snow for the week.

Thats world ending snow levels for our area

Bet the news will be calling it snowageddon or snowpocolipse, or something just as stupid this week

Heres the road out in front of the neighborhood this morning

Buckeye, my son ended up with my Mini Drone. He has been flying it in the house from one to the other and up and down stairs. He has not shared any video with me yet. Both videos you post were good.

Mostly, got 2 large boxes of purses and wallets. Took me couple of hours to make sure there was nothing in any of them of importance. Some of the purses must have had 20 pockets in them.
l.

Thanks, watching my brother crash his made me want to fly mine. I sat on my side porch swing, flew it higher and further than I’ve flown it before. No leaves on trees made a big difference, usually I get weak signal warning going to back of property.

I think my wife left her Subaru key in old purse when she threw it out. When I saw it in trash can, I knew I should have gone thru it.

65°F and no rain

Shot reaction seems to have passed, feeling good so far this morning.

All this talk of taxes, mine await.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Hope everyone is being extra cautious with the challenging weather.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Our miserably cold weather is forecast to only get worse tonight and tomorrow, and not much better for a week or so. And I've figured we'd be OK as long as the electricity doesn't go off. BUT the TV news says the power company, Ercot, has started their "rolling blackouts" 15 to 45 minutes at a time. However, the news lady reporting such says where she is, the power has already been off for 2 hours. It ain't easy for an old man to get to the back of our washing machine in the garage, but I managed and turned off the water a few minutes ago.

At least if LOOKED cold outside this morning, BUT now the sun has come out and looking out the window, it appears to be a beautiful sunny day. But the temperature outside is still 5 degrees.:confused3:

+1°F and snowing this morning, going up to 9° today. We are expecting significant snow here, anywhere from 5-10" they say. We got about 2" overnight. Second wave started about 9am.

Overnight lows of 0°F (iThingie said "-0°") and a brisk wind all weekend made those morning walks to and from the chicken coop seem much longer. The regular metal water dispenser froze up, so we switched to a plastic crock. It's been freezing up around the top as well, so I switched it out for another one this morning. That little heater plate under the water only puts out so much heat, and it's not keeping up with this weather. Looks like we get back up above freezing next weekend, with more snow later this week.

Oldest stepson sent a picture to his mother this morning, looking out their front door in San Marcos. It's 10°F and they have about 2-3" of snow on the ground there. Looks like Canada came to visit south Texas.
Edit: He went out and measured, and it's 5".
