Good morning all. 39 and the rain has stopped for today I hope. Supposed to start back up Thursday. Wife is home today for Pres Day. Not sure what I'm going to get into yet. Good cup of my favorite coffee blend first.

34 outside heading to 39 today. Had a decent melt yesterday. We put up our youngest daughter in a hotel by her work for the night the other day because of the ice. Good thing too because the roads were really bad. Yesterday morning I could not even walk on the gravel driveway.

I managed to get the barn wall down and out of the barn, Rearranged the room, now one instead of two. May take a door out, wife wants it in the house. Its a regular house door that is original to the property. Nice and solid door, with patina of course. Need to move some cabinets about and clean up a little. And now finish some inside walls.

Wife will call about the dead skunk, Checked our shot records on all the animals and all are up to date.

Sure could use some sun, the property has doubled up on mud this year. Sigh...

Good morning! 18 now, 26 later. Odd that Ohio has warmer temps than TX in February!

Got some sort of freezing drizzle right now. 1st round of snow should start shortly. 1-3 inches expected. 2nd round is supposed to be tonight. That is expected to be 8 inches+. That is supposed to start around 4 or so this afternoon. Just may wait until early tomorrow morning to run the snow blower.

Suppose I better get moving.

6 degrees this morning, going for a high of 14, then back down to zero tonight. I can't even remember weather this bad for this long in the past.

24 now high around 30 today
Weather comes in this afternoon starting with snow then sleet then freezing rain and possibly rain at the end tomorrow mid morning.

I can’t believe the crazy weather the middle of the country is dealing with and how far to the south the cold has dipped. Thoughts and prayers for all dealing with this. Stay safe all.

Pick up grocery order this morning which includes milk, bread and eggs just in case we need to make French toast.

Probably run the generator for awhile today. Gas cans are already full.

We got about an inch overnight, but more is on the way.

I think I will conserve energy today.

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 4:00AM. Light rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High 58F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%.
Looks like an inside day today, with more rain returning at the end of the week. By this time next week, the high will be in the low 70s. Hopefully that will start a warming trend going east...

Good to hear of the positive outcome, Ted. Did you get a knee replacement? Hope the rehab and therapy goes smoothly, and it's not too painful.



Got the winch mount on the new box blade yesterday, and decided to follow through and make sure that the old winch was still working. Had to move a power cord adapter over from the old tractor, and relearned just how heavy that winch is trying to get it into the receiver. But with with everything connected it all worked just fine. I'm just not sure the somewhat flimsy Harbor Freight winch mount will hold up to dragging trees or self rescuing the tractor should the need arise.

Good morning, temperature has crept up above freezing, we are returning to puddles of runny water instead of sheets of solid ice. Probably one more day left to enjoy a world without mud while the ground thaws out.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 10° with snow this morning. Heading to 15° with up to 6" of new snow. Maybe. Every forecast this winter of anything over 2" has missed it targeted amount. Got drive and walkways cleaned up yesterday. Sorted pictures. Going to start converting slides/film to digital today.
No other plans.
Squirrel took it's branch back from hawk. Hawk in my picture was about same size as squirrel. Squirrel was making all kinds of noise.

Eric, if Randy has a plan to agitate a Texas pond. I have one in Michigan that is in bad need of agitation. Not even sure if bubbler is still working. Everything is buried under foot of snow.

Check, I do not believe in reincarnation. But I have 2 GGD's One was born on my birthday. The other was born on my wife's birthday. Both natural births.

Buckeye, my son ended up with my Mini Drone. He has been flying it in the house from one to the other and up and down stairs. He has not shared any video with me yet. Both videos you post were good.

Rick, there is something wrong with that Texas snow. Wrong color.

Thomas, tractor did a good job on snow.

Mostly, got 2 large boxes of purses and wallets. There is a local charity that takes does a garage sale every spring that is going to take them. Took me couple of hours to make sure there was nothing in any of them of importance. Some of the purses must have had 20 pockets in them.

DFT, in Michigan we have to file a tax return even if you are exempt. Anyone over 75 years old does not pay Michigan income tax. :confused3:

5˚F and snow covered. I can't see the road or the curbs. Everything is level with snow. Will get a snow measurement later.

Good morning
It’s 30 and supposed to stay there all day with freezing rain and or snow later and overnight.

Yesterday day was a slow day around here, tinkered in the shop, did some finish sanding on speaker, but nothing measurably productive happened. Nobody called me about their broken stuff.

Today I should pack up the completed speaker for its trip to VA. Have to clear out a space for the 3D printer to reside, but that should not be a big project.
Tomorrow I get to help daughter move, so hopefully snow/ice is not going to be too bad.

Looks like Wednesday I’ve got to do a trip to Atlanta, Ft Meyers, Daytona and back. It’s been a while since I had to go anywhere, I’m getting spoiled.

35 this morning, high of 42 today, rain and thunderstorms overnight and 61° by morning, falling to 50 and then 39 on Wednesday. It’s like March weather.
This will teach all you Texans about making fun of the weather being cold other places! It’s tropical here compared to y’all.

Buppies, that winter of ‘77 was brutal, I’m glad I was 24 and not 68, I’d of had to stay in the house.

Nursing home called 5 pm and said mom was declining rapidly and asked if I wanted to visit. Of course I wanted to see my mom, spent three hours with her. Pulse ox was 73, very shallow breathing. But within an hour she had her eyes open watching every move I made. I was holding her hand and she got a grip on my index finger that I had to work to get out of when I had to leave. But she is very near the end, how and why she’s holding on, only she and the hood Lord know. I’m telling her that she can just let go and rest, but that isn’t her. Strongest will I’ve ever seen.

Our miserably cold weather is forecast to only get worse tonight and tomorrow, and not much better for a week or so. And I've figured we'd be OK as long as the electricity doesn't go off. BUT the TV news says the power company, Ercot, has started their "rolling blackouts" 15 to 45 minutes at a time. However, the news lady reporting such says where she is, the power has already been off for 2 hours. It ain't easy for an old man to get to the back of our washing machine in the garage, but I managed and turned off the water a few minutes ago.

I’ve got to go down to NC to get some issues settled on some family property, I’m rapidly becoming the only family left to handle it. My surviving older brother sold his share out to the family so he could buy a new car in the early 90s, now he’s hinting he should be involved. I’m too dense to pick up on the innuendo though, I plan to stay that way. Depending on mom, we plan to fly down to Elizabeth City with a friend who is going to Chesapeake and offered to drop us off. We usually drive so this will be a nice change of pace.
