Happy birthday Mr. Bird!

28, wind chill 15, very windy and 33 today. We have a dusting of snow, third one since Christmas night. Looks like all the snow storms are missing us to the south and west, I’ll take it.

I pay everything electronically, I’ve written 4 checks in a little over three years. It’s just one more thing to keep up with.
I know it sounds pretentious to say I have a financial advisor, but it’s the best money I ever spent. I thought I could do it and did for years, goodness knows how much it cost me.
My next day Amazon impact is now two days, doesn’t really matter I’m not going to use it today.

Good luck to everyone trying to get a vaccine. Stay well.

Soaked a big bag of kidney beans overnight, and am planning on red beans and rice for dinner, with LOTS of left overs.:licking:

Good Morning
It’s 24 with a forecast high of 30 today. Partly cloudy to clear skies with no precipitation.

Good day in the shop yesterday, speaker box is complete, needs final sanding and finishing. Today I’ll build the crossover and input and control plate.

Got another call from the restaurant, on of the rooftop heat pumps wasn’t running. It was an easy temporary fix, the thermostats are in an office with remote sensors located about the space. One of the sensors was bad, reprogrammed thermostat to use its internal sensor. I’ll get a new remote sensor and replace it today.

Mostly- no grease groves, it’s not for a continuously rotating shaft, it works a butterfly type damper that is used very intermittently.

Good morning! 20 now, supposed to struggle to 25 later. Got some flurries overnight. Still predicting Sunday/Monday to be interesting.

All this E muffin talk....just may have some with brekkie this morning :)

Happy Birthday Bird!

My dad had a reaction to his vaccination. He got sick, fever, chills, nausea, etc. he was fine after the shot, but started feeling rough on Sunday. Monday/Tuesday was the worst, he started feeling better yesterday. My step mom didn稚 even have a sore arm.

The training program I was 都upposed to be working on for work is on hold. Seems after the head of engineering had to check all 14 proportional solenoids to verify they were actually 24V, he decided it was a poor installation and needed redesigned. Doh......anyone that looked at the installation could see that. You can稚 put solenoids against a structural frame member and expect anyone to be able to access them for service, especially once all the hydraulic hoses and tubes are installed. You can稚 even see some of them.

Worked on the BSA project for a while. The rear fender is off for some TLC with a welder. Couldn稚 do anything with the rear fender until I could verify everything fit with the oil tank installed. Part of the oil tank mount is built into the rear fender.

Everyone stay safe out there

23 right now and the temperature will be dropping throughout the day and in to below zero (F) tonight...next few days are going to be bone chilling cold

Yep, it's going to get chilly for the next few days.
Have you diluted the fuel in your new Deere or hope you don't need her?
I didn't get my kerosene barrel filled this fall, so I ran into town yesterday and got 15 gallons of K1.
Added about 7 gallons to the tractor and 7 to the truck.
The tractor fuel was already 30% plus the strong dose of anti-gell.

Refrigerator delivery got pushed back to today, we shall see.

Everyone stay well or get better,
have a good day.

Oh, no English muffin today for me a full breakfast bacon and pepperjack cheese omelet and toast.

Happy Birthday Mr. Bird! Hope you and Margaret's arms get feeling better.

36F here this morning and jack frost on everything.

Eric, now I know why Eye of Newt, fungus of hawthorne et al are powerful drugs.

Broker told me he took my .02 out of e-muffin stock. Haha.

I'm waiting for some Steiner beast parts to come in. Hope to work on it Saturday.

prayers for our team and our country.

6°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 34° today.

We ended up with about 2" of snow yesterday. Not enough to break out the tractor. The clouds cleared out and it got really cold overnight, though, and everything is frozen solid this morning. Most of the main roads were surprisingly clean for today's drive to work. It's supposed to be sunny all day, though, so that will hopefully put a dent in the rest of it.

The boy came over and finished the closet for The Wife. Looks like he did a fine job in all but one area; he left saw dust all over the garage. He apparently used the table saw at the back of the garage instead of moving it near the door, and it spewed dust all over everything. Told The Wife he needs to come back over today and clean up that mess.

I've been not sleeping the best lately, and it apparently caught up with me last night. By the time we'd finished eating dinner, I was ready to go to bed. And, I did. Was in bed before 7:30pm, and slept straight through until the alarm went off at 5am this morning. I feel quite rested today.

Happy Birthday, Bird.

Good morning, it has been raining all night, fields again about as sloppy as it gets. Only problem with burn piles around here is finding a dry enough day to light them. :D

Yesterday I made good progress cutting out the dead stuff in the hedge. There were a couple of dead blackthorn intertwined with the hawthorn which hasn't been cut in a long long time, so was growing more like trees than hedge plants. Lots of old wives' tales about getting blood poisoning from blackthorn, though these were all thorn less after being attacked by an ugly looking fungus.

Wng, you got my wife wondering why I am reading the British Medical Association guidance notes on completing death certificates. It seems doctors only write down Covid-19 if they believe that is the underlying cause of death. The definition of "underlying cause" in this context is "the disease or injury which initiated the train of morbid events leading directly to death". In the early stages of the pandemic doctors could only go on symptoms, now almost all fatal cases have the additional evidence of a recent positive test to substantiate that diagnosis.

Thanks for digging into this. I can't imagine your wife wondering about you reading such a fascinating subject. :)

Good morning all, 19 going up to 32- sun is out for a bit. Looks like we are going to get some strong winds tomorrow and plenty of snow Sunday through Tuesday, maybe...Saying upwards of 10" but last prediction was 6 inches and we just got a bit of sleet. All ready though just in case!

Maybe move planters in place as now have the chicken wire. But need tractor to get dirt leaves etc. into them, and of course need wife to tell me placement!

Roy - thought you didn't get up till 3am

Missing some bills here-sent funds already-banks are certainly not forgiving, on anything. Also missing tax documents

Bird sorry to hear about the arm. and on your birthday yet....

Nasty headache yesterday so didn't get much done

Stay safe and be well

Lou, how does the kerosene help? More effective anti-gel?

ten day forecast now showing just under 11 inches of snow coming on Sunday.
Very cold temps until then, high of 25 on Friday. But no precip.
In fact the sky is now blue
Birds are sucking up birdseed at rapid rate

Since my last from scratch muffins didn't rise, bought more redi made blueberry and cranberry orange muffin mix, will add lots of
extra berries to mix. Bought a small can of mandarin oranges, which I thought sliced up in small pieces would be good inside a muffin.
Along with blueberries and cranberries. Will bake them tomorrow or Sat morning and deliver Sat afternoon.
My nephews young boys liked the last batch I made, their Dad took a brief video of their son eating the muffin and trying to talk at the same time.
I suggested he drink something as he was clearly getting gummed up by it. So another load of Uncle Drew's weird muffins coming up.
Give them energy for all the snow shoveling they will have to do.

Good Morning.

Happy Birthday to Mr. Bird !

21F and cloudy with light, steady snow @ 11:00, heading up to a high of 23F. Ten Day shows cold temps for the next six days, the "big snow event" is due in Sunday ... only calling for 1" to 3" though ... (thankfully)

TV had somehow become disconnected from the wi-fi network this morning so I had to fix that when I got up. Don't know if it was some glitch ... or just too much stabbing of the buttons by somebody who wasn't quite awake yet ...

Feeder refilling and fish room on menu for today, along with trip out to pet store for cat food and litter. Possibly grocery store run and sheet cake as well. Plus long patch cable.

Need to check mailbox as well, since it's been a few days since we've been out.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

Good morning! Happy Birthday Bird!

My arm was also very sore the second day (but on the first dose) not looking forward to that second dose.

31˚F this morning with frost, now 39˚F with light high clouds heading to the mid 50s today.

Had routine blood draw this morning, I was the only one there, They don't care about your face mask you HAVE TO use theirs. Even though I got my first shot, I do not think people should be required to get one because it is a new type of vaccine and long term test are unknown - even if that puts a damper on herd immunity - and business should stay out of mandating the vaccine.

Wngsprd, how many pounds of green coffee beans do you roast at a time for yourself and how long does the batch last?

Rick, how far did the embers go, I saw where the flames and smoke did not go straight up so you did have wind. I need to take a pick of our park burn pile it is about a half acre, we asked them to invite us for the torching.

My grandfather used fresh Youpon sticks to roast hot dogs and marshmallows on open fires because the green sticks did not burn, does anyone else use any native sticks for roasting?

/ Good morning!!!! #126,495
63°F and .78 inches rain. A bit drier.

Might try PO again, not that tracking offers any hope. This harkens back to our earlier discussion of Amazon delivery. So why do I check if Tracking doesn’t say delivered? Perhaps the real question is why does tracking not indicate delivered when item has arrived? At least the pups enjoy the ride.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Lou, how does the kerosene help? More effective anti-gel?

Kerosene is basically #1 diesel it has no paraffin wax in it, the paraffin is what precipitates out and plugs the filters.
The kerosene will aid in keeping the fuel from gelling along with the additive.
A person could run straight #1 or kerosene in the older mechanical injected engines, I personally wouldn't recommend it in a common rail.
Also the more kerosene the less HP your engine will develop.
I can life with less HP and keep running better then gelling up and plugging filters.
My winter fuel tank is about 30% kerosene I added a bit to the tractor just for insurance.

Saw something on my SIL's FB page.... it is also her birthday today. I thought this was appropriate for Bird:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY OF THE DAY OF YOUR BIRTH!

I never heard that phrase before, thought it was neat....

good to know, thanks Lou.
In the refinery pecking order, where does kerosene land and is it measured in cetane like diesel?
I know tractors once ran on kerosene or something like it, my old Super A had an optional setting for that.
Apparently it fouled the lubricating oil very quickly.
By comparison today's engines due in part to emission control rules are highly reliable with long fluid flush intervals.
But during the war you had to run whatever you could get, before my time.

I do believe our smaller tractors will become electric in next ten years. They are only poking around now but it makes sense,
particularly after the next evolution of smaller more powerful rechargeable batteries come out.
Then we will get our old tractors out and go putt putt putt on Memorial Day in the parade.

Look Ma, there's smoke coming out of that old antique. Is it on fire?

roll a little more coal Bob
before they make you plug in
