34 and I don't know what it is doing outside because it's all glazed over. SO I will stay in and feed the wood stove. Until it gets light out anyway.

Just a yucky day shaping up.

Speaking of tree limbs, up the road from me, about a year or two ago, guy was on his Kubota and got crushed by a pine. The energy release of a falling tree is something to respect, for sure.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe and stay healthy my friends.

looks like forecast has now changed to mostly rain and staying above freezing overnight.

year before last I planted potatoes on March 1st in NC. Need to find out what that date is here.
Ground temp thermometer needed. Want to plant potatoes in my raised garden. The rest of veggies will be what the local garden
centers have. Middle of April likely.

Good morning all, a couple of degrees below freezing here, shallow ponds have ice thick enough to take my weight. Rain is on the way, we should soon get thawed out.

Yesterday afternoon was vaccination day - for sheep. The pens and race where this would normally be done have been under water for quite a while. With lambing time coming up in March it couldn't be put off any longer, so we did our best using a temporary arrangement of gates and hurdles. Slow going, but all done. My friend who did the stabbing is pretty good with a needle and syringe, he is able to inject even the most stubborn animals.

I do not know of anyone locally who would not willingly be vaccinated against Covid, but if vaccination ever became compulsory, the health authority would do well to employ a few farmers like him to stab anyone who was reluctant. One look at a cattle crush would soon have most rolling up their sleeves to cooperate.:D

E Muffin appeared in fridge

Bups, you saw a Ghost Muffin ?

Good morning! 32 now, predicted to get to 41. Real light mist now. Had some flurries and rain, but overall, the 都torm wasn稚 much here.

Got some work type stuff to do today, then not sure what trouble I can find to get into.

Everyone stay safe out there

5.89 inches rain and most of current storm has passed.

.

Good thing that wasn’t snow.

We ended up with maybe an inch based upon early exploration by my wife, I can’t tell from under the quilt.

Now that Thomas has released the emuffin supply, they are appearing everywhere.

Good Morning
31 and a forecast high of 35. Not sure what form the precip will be, forecasts vary, either snow, wet snow, wintery mix or rain.

Yesterday was the day to move the trailer, worked out great, I was able to move it to the Bilco door so daughter could load it, before pulling it around to pavement.

Got to the lumberyard and picked up some Baltic Birch. For some reason it comes in 5x5 sheets, which are a pain to wrestle and don’t fit in the panel saw. It’s cut up now and speaker is partially glued up, I’ll make more progress today. I figured I’d skip the pictures, as I posed the blow by blow on the last one.

While glue was curing went bearing shop for some bronze bar stock to make some bushings for another project.

Played ping pong with oldest son, I lost like 5 games in a row, several after being stalled at deuce for 10 or more service changes. But close or not, I lost them all :(

No word on vaccination.

Well morning all,
hope everyone has a good day regardless of the weather.
No E muffin for me this morning, but I did have a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese.
Had to choose from the bag of bagels or E muffin my wife had bought.
Time for me to get moving and some outside chores done and the back blade on the tractor,
seeing as they are talking 2-6" this afternoon and tonight.
Then my new refrigerator is supposed to be delivered Wednesday afternoon may have to use my pickup
to get it from the road to the house, that will be fun.

MD started 1c group, which includes essential support to houses of worship, and critical mfg. I qualify for both, now how do you prove it?

My county says they are still on 1A, next county says 1B, neither entertaining 1C for awhile, nor have they developed guidelines for proof past 1A.

Now that Thomas has released the emuffin supply, they are appearing everywhere.

One just appeared in the freezer, I guess it's a sign. A change from my oatmeal blueberry bowl.

Good morning! 37˚F heading to the 60s. No wind clear skies, lots of free vitamin "D" to be had today.

Interesting 1/3 of the covid cases have no symptoms. I would not have thought it was that high the way the news is reporting.
More Than One Third of COVID-19 Infections Are Asymptomatic.

Our neighborhood hub will vaccinate 800 tomorrow and then that is it. They will move the location to the town school. I think they are moving to in-vehicle vaccinations. I'll find out the strategy behind the move when I go for my second shot on the 18th.

FireWise group is eager to get out again after a two week delay, one because of snow another because of rain. Time to e-muffin-up and get outside.

Don, I have one childhood friend who was head of a major health department and another childhood friend
who was into logistics, warehousing and shipping. Both are scratching their heads as to why this vaccine distribution is not
more consistently implemented and the lack of leadership evident so far. Some states/counties have done a wonderful job, this really can work.
Some not so well. But no matter what, they have a long way to go to get 300 million doses out there. Just have to be patient.
be patient they say to a starving man next to a hot t-bone...

keep wearing those masks, it surely is not safe to come out yet. Soon.

off to feed the birds before the snow and rain comes.

Good Morning!!!! 34F @ 5:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun this morning followed by increasing clouds with showers developing this afternoon. High around 50F. Winds SE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Higher wind gusts possible.
Not sure I believe that forecast or not. Seems like the NWS issues forecasts for cities only, and both of the ones nearest me are at different elevations. Oroville is at 200', Paradise at 2000', and I'm almost right in the middle at 1200'. Paradise gets 11" of snow overnight tonight, Oroville gets none, just rain. So does that mean I get 6" of the white stuff?:confused2:

Big flap now about our Governor lifting the stay-at-home order statewide when there's been little improvement in critical care bed availability. Some say it didn't work because the number of cases continues to peak, but in this county it looks like the peak was three weeks ago. Then there are those that say it's a political stunt prompted by the change of administration in Washington. Good friend of mine says he won't take the vaccine even if it becomes available because of something called Antibody Dependent Enhancement, where the vaccine leaves a person very vulnerable to the disease when mRNA type vaccines were used. Apparently it's a well know syndrome, and one that is being screened for during both animal and human trials of the CoVid-19 vaccines. But my friend found a YouTube put out by an old bat in Iowa that claims different, based on stuff she's read and because she's in the medical field. Neither of us are likely to get vaccinated before June anyway, so if ADE turns out to be a problem, we should hear about it by then, especially since both the media and politicians would like nothing better than to shatter the crown jewel of the previous administration. I don't know what to believe, but I'm gonna keep wearing my year-old N95 mask and minimizing the number of people I come into contact with, even if I do manage to snag the jab.

Got another pair of pallets loaded and stacked yesterday, for a total of seven. Got about half way through another when I ran out of gas and daylight. Probably time today before the waterworks turns on to finish that last pallet or cut up another shipping pallet so I'll have steel for two more sets of hoops. Or if I stick my nose out the door and deem it too cold, maybe I'll run some errands in town so I don't have to go out in the rain/snow later in the week. Decisions, decisions.:confused:

Good morning all, 32 going up to 37, no snow yet, though say the mix will start soon.
second planter built- all I had time for , still sitting in garage.

Drew - Most dirt and leaves etc. will come from property. Plenty lying around to fill 2 small planters. Amend with miracle grow bag for now.
Last year - late frost - calling for May 1 this year in Zone 6. ordered a bunch of stuff. Also going to try my hand with almond trees.

Might get my angle grinder today from HF. Who knows.
Looking at what it takes to make a chair from a large round. Still need to finish planks though and make something to hold them up. So many projects.....

Stay safe and be well.

Trees are covered in ice still 32 still hoping for snow

Light drizzle and just above freezing, steps are glazed over.

Same here. Feels cold. No morning walk today.

A joker we know found out if you tell them you are a smoker you can get bumped up a notch on the vaccine list. We would both like to get vaccinated but as covid hermits we are pretty comfortable in our bubble so we can wait.

Chris

36°F and cloudy this morning with some light fog, going all the way up to 37° today. Predicting about an inch or so of snow for tomorrow.

Stationary bikes aren't my favorite either, Mostly_. However, it's a better alternative to riding a real bike here in Winter. As a kid, I'd ride all year. At 54, not so much anymore.

When I was a St. Louis Music, Paul, we were using 18mm Baltic birch for the higher end Ampeg cabinets. All of the PR-series were birch. A PR-810H with metal grills, splatter coat paint, and cast frame Eminence speakers weighs in at 212 lbs. Seriously heavy stuff. I had to inspect the finish on every one we made when they came off the paint line. Those were full-body workout days (I was much skinnier back then). The normal material for Ampeg cabs was OSB with marine grade plywood baffles and stamped frame Eminence speakers (those SVT-810E cabs only weighed 165 lbs). I remember that Baltic birch was starting to get expensive toward the early 2000s, as supply was starting to get tight. Excellent wood for speaker cabinets, though.

My county says they are still on 1A, next county says 1B, neither entertaining 1C for awhile, nor have they developed guidelines for proof past 1A.

We are in 1c and they’re doing all three groups. They require proof of age, address and or ID badge or written proof from your company on their letterhead. I assume the latter from your church would do.
My daughter is an essential worker and she works for an alarm company. She has an appointment Monday at a local hospital, my appointment is Saturday in a county next to ours.

31° and periods of freezing rain and drizzle.

I guess I could write myself a letter, lol. But no one doing 1c here yet.

Guess I’ll venture out, told work I’d try to be there by 11.
