quiet day except for yelling at Fedex truck that was trying to deliver my neighbor's packages to me.
2 guys in the truck, acted like his first day; then he was about to leave my neighbor's package out at the end of the lane, not by the front door,
and I said you can't leave that there, it will be stolen. He didn't and went and found the right house I hope.
Guy was parked in driveway next to me, at least he got that right, and I could hear boxes getting thrown around inside.
Not likely employee of the year material.

snow never materialized though it's a little icy out now but still above freezing.

That looks purty, Ted. But glad it is yours.

I am just glad we don't get moisture levels like you get.....
If I am correct, 1" of rain equals 12" of snow.... your rainfall total would amount to somewhere around 110" of snow....

I would like to get about half of your average rainfall.... it would sure green up here....

23 right now and light snow...about 2-3 inches of added accumulation so far. High in the low 30's today

Woke up to pee...too late to go back to bed for another 45 minutes (alarm goes off at 0315). Plugged in the tractor block heater and I'll go out in an hour...

   / Good morning!!!! #126,387
Poured first cup of coffee. 17° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 25° with a mix of sun and clouds. Snow did come yesterday. About 3" heavy wet stuff. Got tractor our and plowed it off drive and walkways. Sassy jumped over a small drift into about 8" collection of snow. All I could see was nose and tail. She managed to make it back to plowed area before I got to her. Did not go into deep snow rest of the day when let out. Since I was out a dressed for the cold. I put up a rack to store plastic pipe. Got about 1/2 of my supply of pipe and conduit put up on it. Will save rest of the project for warmer weather. Will make that Menard trip today. No other plans.

Scrambler, hope your wife test is negative and surgery goes well.

LS, your place looks great with all the snow.

David, that's a lot of rain.

RNG, good U-tube video. But who do you believe. :confused3:

Eric, your vaccine story sounds like some of the stories at the county places here for vaccination.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, snow is about all gone, without the frost fields are back to a sloppy mess.

Nice snow pic LS, especially with the tire tracks curving into the distance.

Saw a scary graph yesterday that shows just how fast people have been dying of Covid-19 in the UK over the last few months. The chance of dying from this virus is now over 50 times higher than it would be of dying in a car accident in a normal year. With those odds wearing a seat belt is almost pointless for anyone going out and meeting other people.

Passed 100K.jpg

We also live like hermits, I don't intend driving any further than the end of our track this afternoon to take down a rotten hawthorn. If I die today my death certificate is more likely to list a chainsaw than a virus. :)

Sadly it is a busy time to be an undertaker.

I'm trying to visit my old partner in the real estate/insurance business we owned together here in town.
He is home with fully expected COPD from a lifetime of 2+packs a day. And his wife who is a dear sweet woman is not doing well.
Needless to say I'll wait until I get vaccinated to go see them. They have both tested positive for Covid, likely from his trips to the local Diner, same one
we have been going to since the 50's here, and that still has french fries and brown gravy on the menu.
I'm afraid my old friends aren't going to make it if I wait too long. But I'm not going anywhere near them until a month after my second shot.

Eric, sorry the numbers aren't looking good there. Be careful. Fine time to be a hermit. Hopefully by this summer restrictions will be lifted.

37 outside this AM. Looks foggy, hard to tell. Heading to mid 40's.

Could use some sunshine. Like the rest of the world.

Hope all have a great day today. Be safe and stay healthy my friends.

Eastern NC may get up to four in of snow

that means the 7 inches they predict here over two full days of snowing is for real. Sunday afternoon into Monday and even Tuesday.
looks like the snowblower is going to earn its keep.

Gentlemen, prepare your engines.

41 and foggy wet, going to 46 and something...seems they don't know if snow.

Eric, not sure I understand that footnote on the graph...does it mean that if someone died of anything they are counted, since they had a positive test as much as 4 weeks previously? There has been much confusion in the recording of cause of death here...but sadly, too many people, in any case, have died since this flu arrived.

Ron, I wish we had some squirrels colored like yours here. All of ours are gray, so when they swarm the feeders, like yesterday, can't tell them apart. We've only seen a brownish squirrel here once, a fox squirrel...and we've seen a flying squirrel that used to live in one of our bluebird boxes.

Plans for today...Snow storm should be ending around 9-10 am than I clean roofs paths etc. afternoon plow driveway etc.,other than that :confused3:

Enjoy the day all.

Chris, that's wild to watch, when does a boat become a plane?

small town, turns out it was my old partner's son driving the fire truck that goes past my house:

We, me driving mostly, are running old tanker 46, out of station 64,
the 3,000 Gallon Pierce. Not sure which motor, but it moves!!
We are still buying Pierce, except for the 4guys, 4200 gallon tanker
on a Kenworth chassis!! BAD ***!!
So, yes, last Friday morning at 3:16AM, I woke you up!

I have to add here for context.
For many years, Midway Fire Company, in Lahaska, next town to our volunteer fire district with
their own company, well those guys knew they needed a new tanker, none of us have hydrants, so
they bought one of the coolest custom tankers on either a Kenworth or Peterbilt chassis and whatever was the largest possible
motor you could stuff in there. It was their pride and joy and got attention wherever it went.
So it looks like after all these years little New Hope gets to have their own custom high power tanker too.
After I left they got their first ladder truck, almost glad I didn't have to learn how to drive that.
Let's just say the community is super supportive of the local fire companies and they don't have to fund raise any more.
My memories of calling bingo every Wednesday night for seven years not withstanding.

wngsprd looks to me like dusting to one inch for you tonight, this weekend hard to say but could be a lot. Models have a hard time handling LaNina Good source for you wxrisk facebook. He is Richmond based he is good medium to long range forecaster other parts not so much, goes into a lot of detail and explains what it means

Good morning, low temp 3°F and the high 10. Wind calm. 30% chance of flurries.

The sky dropped an inch over the past 3 days. Not enough to plow.

An energy conservation day, tomorrow will be the monthly trip to NB. I am the driver and don't get out of the vehicle at any of the stops, not even when I get gas. They pump, I pay.

Went to bed at midnight and got up at 6. Now I am back on my regular schedule.

Have a safe day all

Eastern NC that was for tonight have not looked at weekend down there yet

   / Good morning!!!! #126,400
Morning to all,
Wifes car cleaned off and she is off to work about 4" of snow on the ground.
Still lightly flurrying supposed to reach 32-33 degrees F today before the big cool down for Thursday night and the weekend, calling for sub zeros.
Finishing my second cup of coffee and then time to get going.
New refrigerator supposed to be delivered today, that may be an interesting experience.
Delivery truck will not be able to make the driveway so will have to meet them with the pickup or tractor and unload on the road
to bring to the house.
Even plowed and sanded no way a 2wd drive will make the hill.
As far as the covid vaccination my wife has had her first, and I'm "on the list" at the VA, so maybe sometime this year.
