Problem is Rick. I have to with some. One day I was on my ride-on mower and a huge limb came down behind me and clipped the back of the mower. 1 second slower it would have cleaned me up. Gave me a heck of a fright.
Some I have thrown a long rope up over and used another tree as a pulley to pull them where I want them.Just too dangerous to leave some of them.
I saw a magpie land on a limb once and the limb snapped off.

I used to work for someone who inherited his family's business that way. His father was mowing the edge of a field with the tractor when a branch snapped off of a tree he was mowing under. It really does happen.

Afternoon all! 30 here with just enough of a breeze to feel as cold as it will be at the end of the week. Overnight lows of 2 above to a high of 18 for the day. No snow in forecast though.
Thomas: I hate to say it but I had an english muffin with peanut butter for breakfast. An english muffin with turkey and cheese warm for lunch and we are having little english muffin pizzas for dinner. Yum yum to all of them. My wife says they were buy one get two free at Market Basket.

Still hurting from friday so I stayed out of the garage today. Made two more wrist bands. One in dragon skin and one in snake belly. LOL!

Might go to the garage tomorrow and then skip the rest of the week. Will be to cold even with the space heater.
Stay safe and healthy all!

We had a good thunderstorm roll through around 4am. Wife woke up and realized she was wearing an 80lb fur turbin

Our baby girl doesn't like thunderstorms and will wedge herself between my wifes head and the headboard on the bed.

Rain moved out around noon in our area.

lots of good ideas here.
Don, I like the dowel construction, easy to take apart.
I was originally going to build this with two rows of 8x8 beams with an 8 inch wide top of natural cedar to sit on and look pretty.
Lumber is so expensive though I think a single 12 inch wide board would be fine if it had little seats like you show. Thanks
Toppop, that's a really nice solution, I might copy it.
I like the triple one

Ken, did you buy bags of soil at Lowes/HD to fill them up or do you have a local supply?

couple of tylenol and a nap did the trick. Pretty sure having a cup of coffee helped too.

The rain that was supposed to move in is actually snow. Light covering on the decks and grass, but it’s 35 so it’s not going to last long.

Just started snowing up here and freezing, Randy.

Ron, really liked that pic today.

Went to work early, ended up working later than I wanted. Some Sleet on way home. Calling for 1-2” tonight and or ice.

Good morning all, 26 going up to 40 - cloudy - forecast changed to light snow/rain mix - hope it stays above freezing so not an ice storm
Got one planter built. Now the hard part, working with the wife to see where she will let me put them!
Then fill in with dirt leaves and get some decent top soil and matting, followed by t-posts in prep to fence in from deer and varmints.

Replaced cracked hammer in wife's Keyboard, kid is teaching himself how to play. was pretty easy swap out.

Alien - glad you got the pain shot and hope the tear and back heal without intervention
Wng-happy tree fell in right direction!
Thomas- no e-muffin - might bend reality :)

Had to cut up quite a bit of cardboard for recycling this weekend to make space to build the planters. Too cold and windy out side.
One more planter to go...

Stay safe and be well.

Is he learning the intro to "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"?

Drew - no time to build and saw my neighbor liked his, so I bought 2, seems like the price doubled since I got them though:

I wanted something bright and long lasting.

I have built from wood before. Some PT 4x4 corners and Cedar planks (think I only did 2 1x6 to make a 12" high, 8'x6' planter back then), not too hard. Could access that one from all sides as didn't have to worry about deer, only groundhog and rabbits at old house.

Bought 7' (6' high chicken wire) tall T-posts to hang chicken wire from to surround the planter. With One side able to open. Still looking at how to do that, probably just roll the chicken wire back.
I like the 8x3 as easy access from one side.

Exactly what I did, took 2 rolls. I made it so I can peel it back from both ends of the rectangle to get tractor thru.

Been a while, I keep reading about 50 posts, and clicking many to reply to, only to doze off and head to bed.

My daughter played her acoustic in church, along with the husband/wife team.

Thanks for all the prayers for her. I'm praying for you guys, and our country, and all who are sick.

I got a dead locust tree out back that needs to come down. It’s been dropping limbs.
