Drew - no time to build and saw my neighbor liked his, so I bought 2, seems like the price doubled since I got them though:

I wanted something bright and long lasting.

I have built from wood before. Some PT 4x4 corners and Cedar planks (think I only did 2 1x6 to make a 12" high, 8'x6' planter back then), not too hard. Could access that one from all sides as didn't have to worry about deer, only groundhog and rabbits at old house.

Bought 7' (6' high chicken wire) tall T-posts to hang chicken wire from to surround the planter. With One side able to open. Still looking at how to do that, probably just roll the chicken wire back.
I like the 8x3 as easy access from one side.

Thomas, don't worry, I'm taking care of the now excess stock of E-muffins for you! I really enjoy them with butter and cherry preserves :D

Easy on the "excess stock of E-muffins" soon as the phase/fade passes the Mrs. I plan on making up for lost time. ;)

I do my best to push dead trees over, with one of the tractor / grapples .. taking the root ball and all. Doing that ..I have control on where the tree will fall..
".

Gotta be so careful pushing dead gums here. They are so tall and branches are spindly. So much so if you bump the tree the branches spear off and come down on you. I really gently nudge the tree to see if it will lean over first. If it doesn't go easily I leave it as it is too dangerous to force it. It will get you for sure. I've had to jump and run before.

Very little pain last night so I was thankful for that, however, unfortunately it was a long night and no sleep due to cortisone. It keeps me wide awake. Hopefully get some sleep sometime during the day.

Alien - as long as the windup motor is going, it's project time :)

The seat is a good idea. I use a stump so I don't have to depend on thick walls (or spend any money). Any garden seat would work too (little roller ones).

Off to build up 2nd planter.

I don’t push over anything with “widow makers” above me or tractor.

Problem is Rick. I have to with some. One day I was on my ride-on mower and a huge limb came down behind me and clipped the back of the mower. 1 second slower it would have cleaned me up. Gave me a heck of a fright.
Some I have thrown a long rope up over and used another tree as a pulley to pull them where I want them.Just too dangerous to leave some of them.
I saw a magpie land on a limb once and the limb snapped off.
