good morning all
Chilly here too, not getting above 35 today.

Toppop, what's the story on the race car trailer? QuickTrick?

I've never followed dirt track or Nascar, a little SCCA, but always enjoyed watching drag races.
I'd have to take some better noise cancelling headphones if I went. Told my next older brother that after it warmed up and we
were both vaccinated, we should go to a local drag strip.
Popgadget, are there any left in Northern Bucks? Allentown?
Pretty sure there is still one over the River in NJ
I prefer the slower more stock cars vs the 300mph exotic fueled record setters where you blink and the run is done.
Showroom Stock was always fun to watch

Problem is if you wreck Mom's car, insurance doesn't pay for it. Organized speed event is a standard no no in a car insurance policy.
And in my case Mom had a high output 455 in her 88 Oldsmobile and us boys were always itching to see what it would do. Of course cars back then weren't fast
at all, today's V6 Camry is faster than most muscle cars. But they sure sounded good. And gosh did they suck gas. My 1958 Impala 348 got 9mpg.
I loved that car until I put it on the roof. It loved me back, protected me, and died for my considerable sins.

While today I drive a four cylinder car and can only get excited about my snowblower engine...she's real fine my 369... yes, sign of early onset dementia. ;)

My father called from California-he is over 75, and computer illiterate, so having problems. I told him to start calling and I will need to see what I can do for him.
Hard being on the opposite coast.

This website appears to be the official CoVid guidance for California, Ken. It sounds like your father is immediately eligible for vaccination, being that he's over 75 years of age. In my area, the decisions about what groups get the vaccine and when are made at the county level, which helps explain the high level of confusion and differing stages of vaccine availability.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 17° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 29° with a good chance of snow. Yesterdays weather changed quickly. Skies clear and temperature dropped to 6°. Still spent some time at neighbors clearing woods. Got 50' area cleared of scrub shrubs. Even with 4 layers of cloths got chilled and came back home. Today will be a conserve energy day after a trip to Menards for another 200 lbs of bird seed.
Dove stopping by Garden Pond for a drink.

Drew, I did drag strip racing in my 20's. Thankfully I grew out of it when I switched to go-Karts. Was a fun sport. Off road motorcycles was even more fun. Luckily I never broke any bones.

Randy, nice trailer.

Ken, I feel sorry for those that not do internet. Many are going to be left behind getting the vaccine.

Newbury, getting on the list for shots can be difficult here. But when you are on the list it goes pretty much military. Hope all can get on a list soon.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, snow is falling onto half frozen ground. My wife has been having fun following the tracks of a large fox that she saw earlier walking down the path. Not to be outdone, Max decided to scout the trail too, although he preferred to follow the scent trail instead of using his eyes. I am always amazed at how dogs manage to run while keeping their nose level and at a tiny fraction of an inch above the ground. When they turned down the hill I carried on the check the next field. All was fine sheep wise, however I disturbed a cormorant again stealing the recently stocked fish from the half frozen big pond. I can see thwarting it's activities is going to keep me occupied for quite a while once the weather warms up enough to go wading.

Our daughter has just sent me a pic showing the batch number of the Pfizer vaccine she got injected with this morning. They decided to vaccinate the staff at the school where she teaches because the children there all have serious medical conditions. All parts of our country are told to follow a strict national plan, where medical statisticians have calculated the risk of death for many categories of people. Only once the vast majority of those at highest risk have been injected do they move on to the next group. I am surprised some of you healthy "youngsters" are getting stabbed so soon :)

22 doubling to about 44, and clear.

RNG, sorry you're up so late/early?

BEF, glad you got tested and good so far.

Buppies, great approach to life. I'll try.

Randy, very nice trailer, and of course, great job on the oyster shells.

Had one of my worst days cutting firewood yesterday...had two trees get snagged by neighboring tree's branches...couldn't get one to ever fall. Will try again today. The second one finally fell, but I got my chainsaw bar caught and it bent the guide where the chain drive link runs...so put the good bar on and will sharpen chain today and go back. I have 2 monster trees I'm needing to cut...want to get one down today.

If Randy customized a chainsaw, would it look like this?

Good Morning All.

Great dove shot. Hope Menard's bird seed isn't as high as TSC was when we stopped there on the way home from the mountains. We needed pure sunflower, and it was $25.

Good Morning
It’s 22 and windy, high of 32 and clear skies forecast.

Yesterday’s tasks all went smoothly, finished at the restaurant just in time to bring a nice lunch home. Bent one of the rods with the center of the bend misplaced by 6”, still scratching my head about that. Fortunately he had enough material to make another one correctly.
Didn’t move the trailer, she doesn’t need it until next week, and this continued cold will make the ground solid.

Today has me going to Concord, NH for a few hours, cold and windy there as well.

Still no word on getting vaccinated.

Drew, nearest operating drag strips are Maple Grove in Mohnton, PA or Atco in Atco, NJ. Vargo Dragway is a few minutes from me, but has been closed since the late 60’s. It’s used as a private runway now, but there is a reunion car show there every fall.

Good morning, the temperature is -11°F and going up to 12. Wind ESE 2 mph. Periods of light snow, about an inch worth.

Tomorrow will be in the 20's, I will put the chains on then.

Energy conservation is in the cards for today.

Have a safe day all

Popgadget, so Vargo was in Perkasie I think on Elephant Road from memory but this was a long time ago. Yes, I think it was my Mother who represented
local dairy farmers getting Vargo shut down. Much of what she did was probono work and this defending the cows sounds like something right up her alley.
Have a vague memory of charts of decreasing milk production.

my first from scratch muffins came out at best only ok. They are thick and lumpy, very little sugar, made with banana, apples, cranberries, oats, cinnamon, vanilla,
ground flax seeds and baking flour.
I probably should have added some canola oil.
Thankfully I have nephews who will eat all the Uncle Drew muffins they can get, the weirder the better.
