25 outside this AM. Heading to mid 50's. It is close enough to the weekend for me to call a mental health day.

Here is the wife with her new toy truck.
Trying to figure out where to park it. LOL.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe...and stay healthy my friends.View attachment 683149

Nice Chevy!

After I swore off politics on here, I got caught up replying to a personal insult, I let my temper get in the way. It won’t happen again, I really enjoy the thread and 99% of the people. I wouldn’t want to contribute to problems.

Good morning! 47˚F heading to the mid 60s, sunny.

MikePA, thanks for making the dump run for the morning thread. The troublemakers usually do not give a weather report from their neck of the woods.

Kyle, this will probably also make your BP rise: As I was trying to get on a list since I'm in 1-b, others in 1-c were in line getting their shots yesterday morning.

"Austin Public Health admitted on Wednesday that they gave a vaccine to people who waited in line all night "Out of common courtesy" these people were not in the priority 1A or 1B groups."
How did non-priority Austin residents get vaccines ahead of 1A and 1B patients? | KXAN Austin

Our county is requesting to be a hub to have three distribution points and distribute 30,000 doses a week. One of the distribution points will be the neighborhood ball room. We will see how that pans out. So far no one I know of in the neighborhood who has received the vaccination.

Roll out going great so far, a few glitches here and there but working with a good team

Rip - New truck looks great
This vaccine thing is not well planned or coordinated, hope it gets fixed soon!

Back to work.
Stay safe and be well

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 4:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
The 10-day is showing showers for a couple days starting a week from Friday, but it's only a 35% chance. All the days in between are partly cloudy to sunny, with unseasonably warm temps. Nice weather, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a couple drenching storms in off the Pacific.

Nice truck, Mike, but doesn't that bobbed bed sort of defeat the purpose of driving a truck?:confused3: Probably best to not go there, though, in the interest of domestic tranquility...

Here ya go, Eric. When are you starting, how long do you think it will take to complete, and will you document your progress on TBN in a new thread?:D The year was 1985 when I had my Izal encounter; does that mean I sampled the real thing? I thought the Norton Commando I rode that trip nicely complemented the Izal, in that both accomplished their intended goal in a somewhat round about way that required some trial and error experimentation by the user, along with significant adjustments of one's expectations. Then there was Wales, where the place names on the map made sure I never really knew where I was at or how to pronounce the name of where I was trying to go...

Very much an up and down day yesterday. I managed to get to the range a few minutes after they opened, and was helped with the shotgun paperwork as soon as I walked in the door. Last time I was there in mid-afternoon, it was shoulder to shoulder at the counter and I just turned around and walked out, placing a call to them from the parking lot to find they didn't have what I wanted in stock anyway. I ordered the ammunition I'd sought the week before, and if it comes by the time the waiting period for the shotgun expires, I'll save the one dollar background check fee. No guarantees there, though, as ammunition is very scarce these days, and ls likely to remain that way even though the manufacturers are working extra shifts in an effort to keep up.

No waiting at the allergy clinic, either, again mornings are better for them for some reason.

And the BMW dealer had the obscure transmission bushings I needed in stock; I was starting to feel like I was on a roll. I thought I'd try to spread the wealth around a bit by trying a new cafe for brunch, but learned that avocado:yuck: has no place in a bacon breakfast burrito, even if it is a healthy substitute for sour cream.

I had almost two hours to kill until the physical, so thought I'd try to work in the lab test the doc forgot to order. Unfortunately his staff couldn't seem to find the time to FAX the order over in a timely fashion, even though I sat out at the lab parking lot for almost an hour.

No new bad news during the physical, and the doc wrote an order for the new Cologuard test in hopes of avoiding a colonoscopy. :crossfingers: on that one. I picked up a paper copy of the order for the missing lab test, but the gal told me they were closed when I came through the door to the lab, even though it was a half hour before their published closing time.:confused2:

I felt rushed to get my delivery of boxes done before we lost the daylight, so I rolled up the hill to Paradise to meet Dan, who was waiting for me in the otherwise empty hardware store parking lot. His eyes nearly bugged out of his head when he saw the number of boxes I'd brought, but was thankful there were enough to provide both him and his brother-in-law with all they needed for their move out of California. He was excited about finding homes on a lake with a big shop building for a mere hundred K where he's going, but I reminded him that he'd then be waking up every morning in Oklahoma and might have second thoughts after enjoying many years of California weather. But like many here, he feels escaping undesirable politics will be a worthwhile tradeoff.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

good thing I'm not a one percenter...:D
I think the Covid experience, with all the side effects on our economy and life style, have
simply set many folks on edge. Lot more stress, we don't always handle stress well and that affects our health.
And if one's health is affected, you have a reason to pipe up and be heard.

But it's also a time for those who are simply contentious
to blaze away with their desire to make a point, poke fun at an opponent, real or imagined,
get on their own personal stage and play for the crowds.
GM is not the hotel catering to contentious people.
And occasionally they come and visit with us every once in a while.
looking for the soft underbelly like a hungry tick

on that pleasant thought I'm headed out to local orchard for apples.
Too cold for ticks here

Drew, good luck with local apples. My last basket of apples were mostly lrotten before I could eat them.

LOL. We have a long bed Sierra DuraMax/Allision that is considered the real truck. Hopefully no one takes that wrong.

This one has to fill the role of an everyday vehicle, and double as an emergency backup for some trailering purposes. Hopefully my construction days are just about over, so the short bed should suffice.

We seriously downsized our vehicle collection this past year. So this takes the place of two cars and a truck.

...

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

I opt to take the day like a Friday, and call it!

37F and cloudy @ 09:30, supposedly heading up to a high of 45F.

Nice bluejay pic Ron ...

Apparently had a little bit of snow at some point during the overnight - it stuck to the driveway coming down to the house, which makes an interesting visual (it being white, but nothing else)

Have to run out a bit later and pick up a prescription that is ready, maybe run by Menards, and then do some house cleaning once I get back.

Will see what other things I can get into after that.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...
