Be careful folks it would be a shame to get this thread locked!

Chris

Other than condemning violence, I don’t see anyone taking sides here, just pointing out the inequities. That’s a discussion, not politics. Personally I’ve never been a fan of violent protest regardless of cause. Don’t expect to change. To me and unbiased media serves to keep us all more honest.

Chris

I agree with you...this was a traumatic thing that happened and it was sure to end up here...
The mods can (and should) trim the specific posts, if necessary...rather than shut down a very long lasting thread which we all enjoy!

snowblower delivered just fine, put it in reverse and backed it into garage, fits in the spot I had picked out for it, helps that
it's only 24 wide. Delivered with a "we owe" for the battery charger. And it's not the battery I thought at all, not a starting battery, there
is none. Only electric starts with a 110V extension cord. The battery is 7.2V for the electronic fuel injection system only. That's interesting, but the one
shipped with the unit was a 240V Euro charger, not the right one for US. Battery is allegedly good for three months, hope it shows up in that time
Starts very easily by pull starter though.
Went to put my fancy gas in it and realized I needed a bigger funnel, as I was about to spill gas all over my brand new machine.
Something else for my best buddy Mr Bezos.

other than size, wish there was an industry color coding for funnels, e.g. gasoline, diesel, motor oil like there is on fuel cans.
I always wonder about washing the oil residue off a funnel into a gas tank but then a tiny amount of oil probably wouldn't hurt anything.

I found the news commentary and political commentary just as sickening as the incident. I had to turn the news off. Sad times we are in, it’s like 2 fighting little kids and neither side will back down from their rhetoric.

Snowblowers, tractors, and work desk surface mining are all good endeavors. Drew getting a blower just guaranteed a mild winter, thank you very much.

Since I gave the laptop to my son, I now need one for me. He is more critical, his screen kept going out and he would have to reboot. Mine has only 1 of 3 USB ports working.

I walked the farm lane last week. There is a strong temptation to get the tractor out and do some stuff but it would be a bad idea and I would just tear everything up and make a big mess. Maybe it will freeze.

Chris

Also itching get tractor out into fields woods but last thing I want to do repair ground when blackflies and there crazy cousins mosquitos.

Working older and slower, but did get the pipe chase installed (finally). Now I can drill holes proper locations and start running the branch lines.

So why a chase? Container wall doesn’t have studs so no easy path as in normal construction, aggravated by fact I have to transition to a studded wall in bathroom. Just one of those cans I kept kicking down the road. Possibly could have run underneath and then in back of cabinets, but not much working room for my clumsy hands and then transition would have been more a challenge. Borrowing from single wall construction of which lots of here locally, the easiest path was along outside of wall. But then I decided I’d add a chase for protection and esthetics. And that’s where it is now . Chase cover will be same siding, painted to match.

Picked up Walmart and Food Lion orders as well as Popeyes chicken, got home about dark thirty. Had two decorations I missed yesterday so I put them away, now I think I’m done. One Nativity had some wind damage, it’s a wire framed affair so I I should be able to repair and fix the lights.
Those are about the highlights of my day. I hope you all did something interesting.
26-44 today with bright sunshine, looks like a near repeat for the next two weeks with maybe a couple of chances of rain.

I notice many delivery people have the face stuck looking at their smartphone. The ones that did not see my sign never looked up from their phone.

Maybe another sign
“SMILE,
THIS IS A PIC OF YOU
NOT FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS”

The only one I've seen (on Breitbart) showed where some protestors knocked over a few temporary bicycle barricades in front of the White House.

That was immediately followed by them raising their arms and saying "Don't Shoot !" ... followed by the protestors actually pulling the bicycle barricades back up and putting them back into place.

If that is what you are referring to, the two things are not remotely similar.

But I wouldn't be surprised if there were other incidents that I have not seen.

Same here ...

The 16+ Secret Service Officers injured .. during that "peaceful" protest .. would probably have a different perspective.

The parishioners of St. John's Episcopal Church .. after the basement of Ashburton House, their parish house , was set on fire during that "peaceful" protest .. would probably have a different perspective.

Good evening all. 42F for the start, overcast, light breeze. Moderate wind day, overcast thinned a bit around noon then thickened back up, and high temp was 46F. Worked on ashes, stoked fire in insert and fed it all day, cleaned and lubed chain and lubed front derailleur on volagi. then went for bike ride on the Peugeot. Helped wife make meatballs, so no nap :( Stepdaughter did not have fever, just sinus pressure today. Violence just brings on more violence rarely fixes a problem.
Covid update: Cooke 2299 confirmed cases, 266 active cases, Montague 1327 confirmed cases, 124 active cases, Grayson 7628 confirmed cases, 773 active cases, local 34 active.
Dennis, good question on how did people get the word. Good to hear no disasters.
Roy bet crows are mad at you :)
Drew hope snowblower works for you. Hope you can finish owl house soon
Mike hope you like the answers you track down
Bill sorry to hear about your back, prayers for speedy recovery
Buppies no hot paving tomorrow.
Ron here is to a speedy recovery to your back as well. nice cardinal
Thomas hope you can find a 7 ft blade for tractor. good to hear cooking helps you :)
Paul hope you get to the mining:)
Eric not sure how well anodize will stretch with your forming operation. When the aluminum oxidizes, the oxide clings to parent material, unlike the steel oxide. If the woodpeckers have trouble with the aluminum, I would stay with that and not use the anodize.
Bill Sorry Jeep is so thirsty
RNG sorry about lack of rain, we had .2 in forecast and got a trace yesterday. Nice find at Costco.
Rich good to hear you are doing ok, good luck selling stuff, hope you can do some reloading
Drew stabil should work for you. One thing I think helped me is I used a high volume gas station. I don't think it help E10 to sit in tanks
Ken good luck with ornament removal. Ken is strip mining for the work space he needs :)
Paul spoils recovery will get you every time
PJ that is how things get scrapped, not following procedure/work instructions etc. nice timing on the light
Don hope you got outside, we had less sun and less wind than forecast. recipe sound good
PJ i will watch the local news when you use it :)
Ted hope you get your snow. Sorry about the migraines hope you get past them, prayers sent.
David hope you paint dried.
Randy I can see you are using more bandwidth than me :)
Roy I just wish the voting issues get fixed.
RNG sorry about the mail delivery, our old carrier just retired, who know how well the new one will work out
Drew hope they get your battery issue fixed soon. Hope the blower works for you
David glad chase is done hope the drops go well also.
DF I hate 14 hour days, wonderful news on GS.
prayers for all, especially Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter/family of uncle, David(moss)/remodel/divorce, RNG/fire, Ron/hearing/son/furnace, Jim/sister & family, Phil/wife's eyes, and Country.

The 16+ Secret Service Officers injured .. during that "peaceful" protest .. would probably have a different perspective.

I referenced the video of the specific incident I was referring to.

You (and toppop) might be referring to something else.

The parishioners of St. John's Episcopal Church .. after the basement of Ashburton House, their parish house , was set on fire during that "peaceful" protest .. would probably have a different perspective.

Certainly wrong - even if the damage was confined to a fairly small nursery area. It easily could have been far worse.

To his credit - and clearly stating that he was not speaking for all parishioners - Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church stated that he forgave them ... "because they know not what they do ..."

mostly_gas, it only took 10 gallons, $55.oo. Shell high test, that is why the price is so high. Zero ethanol. It has a 24 gallon tank.
Back when I worked in the city, with the original 16 US gallon tank, I would leave Markham, ON full of fuel and have to refuel for the southbound trip at home. That got old real quick, and I bought a 24 gallon aluminum tank for it.
$3,000.oo installed and I supplied the parts.
