Good morning!!!!

I'll never understand why people just won't follow simple instructions. Having that same problem with a few people at work today. Boggles the mind.

I caught up with the mailman a couple weeks ago and asked him about his bad habits. He completely denied not locking the parcel box and letting mail hang out of the mailbox slot instead of making sure it dropped behind the security baffle. He also made it clear he hates his manager and his job. I can only conclude that his behavior is some kind of passive/aggressive thing that I'm not going to have any luck fighting. Except maybe if enough people on this route complain, then maybe he gets transferred to some other route and then they suffer. That's the down side of unions: It's almost impossible to get fired. This week he came up with a new trick. It's been raining, so now my mail gets wet. It's bad enough he folds the magazines, but when the pages stick together, they're ruined.:censored:

I have a separate Netgear router as well. My Daughter and SIL had a combo but it’s outdated and they just bought new equipment, not sure what but they do a lot of streaming between the three of them, and some gaming.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of download speed do you get with the 350 mb service?

Latest check it 362 downloads and 32 upload. Browsing usually has new page before I can get finger off button.

Good afternoon all.

32F and cloudy @ 13:00 here, and headed up to a high of 36F.

Glad to see that relative peace prevails in our Nation's Capitol today and that the domestic terrorist scum's little seditious insurrection was put down, although sadly not without some loss of life. Apparently at least 52 individuals have been arrested thus far ... hopefully that count will increase significantly in the coming days.

All those that participated need to be arrested, tried, and convicted for Sedition, Insurrection, and Treason against the United States.

And that includes any who are presently residing in government-provided housing.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

That’s what takes so long. Sometimes it’s a forgotten project that has to be finished or tossed. Sometimes it’s just random hardware that needs to be filed or tossed, sometimes it’s “stuff” that needs to find a home with someone else or be tossed, and sometimes it just needs to be tossed which breaks my heart because it’s such good trash that I can’t stand to throw it out. Last night a neighbor called because he needed a 2 pole 30 amp Cutler Hammer breaker, and figured that I would have one. He was right.

Paul, you know many of us here have same affliction. Not sure there is a cure.

Very true, especially about those who, tacitly, agreed with the summer insanity
As far as the events yesterday...don't think it's over...

Sadly I agree. I often think there is a group of agnostics agitators eager to fan the flames whatever the issue. And our non accountable media have been stoking this for months. Like high profile obituaries, they were prepared.

63°F and .30 inches rain.

Finally got to paint about 4pm yesterday. Hopefully dried enough before it rained again and will dry out again today.

Sad events in Capitol yesterday. Even sadder the silent hypocrites who watched, even denied or justified the events of the summer suddenly found their loud voices.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

It is amazing.

That’s great, at night with just one or two devices I can get 230-260, but upload is throttled at 12, sometimes it’s 12 and sometimes 15.

Do you feel the same about those that stormed the federal building in Seattle, breached the wall at the White House and shot Republicans at the ball field? If so, I agree with you. None have right to forcefully push their beliefs through violence.

I'm already on record as condemning any violence and property damage in Seattle and the attempted murders at the ball field.

As far as "breaching the wall" at the White House, if you are referring to the incident which I think you might be, that isn't even remotely close to what took place yesterday.

If so, I agree with you. None have right to forcefully push their beliefs through violence.

Good ...

These are the people that desperately need a large fist to their face a few times or so.
Honest officer, his face hit my fist many times, I just couldn't stop the stupid s-o-b.

Seems a bit extreme .. for a "package" delivery?

Good morning all. A chilly -8C/17F here. At least no liquid mud

Wng, hope with rest and plenty of heat from the woodburner it won't be that long until you are back on the trail.

When I first got these fields I noticed the oldest still surviving softwood gates and straining posts were made from creosoted roundwood with a painted steel cap on the top. Those not capped had rotted from the inside out.

The first posts I put in I capped with lead flashing, which I thought was a good way to waterproof them while being very easy to form into shape. Unfortunately woodpeckers soon ripped them open, presumably to get at bugs underneath. With a a few others I used some off cuts of anodized aluminium sheet and those have survived over 15 years so far.

There is a lot of knowledge and creative thinking on here, so as I am about to cap more posts, all 7" to 8" diameter, I wondered if there were any improvements you can suggest. Firstly, if I use aluminium again, it will not be anodized. Do you think allowing this to naturally oxidise in air will give something as durable as those that were commercially anodised ?
Alternatively I can get galvanised steel sheet, which is certainly tough and long lasting, however I find it hard work (unless you have some tips ) to form over the top and down the side of the post.

Also, is there a better way to form the cap for weather protection than what I do now - nailing in 4 places with galvanised nails, then use hammer to fold into a roundish octagonal top ?

That’s about the way I would do it. Except use self drilling screws.

The reason they didn’t get in the White House is because Secret Service and US Marines drove them away. Apparently the Capitol didn’t have that kind of protection.
Escalation is unfortunately the end result when previous incidents go unpunished. I hope this ends it.

How much jail time is accompanied with a treason conviction?

The reason they didn稚 get in the White House is because Secret Service and US Marines drove them away. Apparently the Capitol didn稚 have that kind of protection.

The only one I've seen (on Breitbart) showed where some protestors knocked over a few temporary bicycle barricades in front of the White House.

That was immediately followed by them raising their arms and saying "Don't Shoot !" ... followed by the protestors actually pulling the bicycle barricades back up and putting them back into place.

If that is what you are referring to, the two things are not remotely similar.

But I wouldn't be surprised if there were other incidents that I have not seen.

I hope this ends it.

Same here ...
