Eric, indeed greet news

Wngsprd, that reminds me, I need to refill the porch pellet box before it warms too much to drive tractor to porch. Already up to 39°, snow is now coming off the pine trees. Will get to that after lunch.

16 right now...high about 30 today...

I'd posted yesterday (might not have been on this thread though) that the 4052 wouldn't start yesterday...just "click...click". The panel lights were bright as were the exterior (headlights, work lights). I initially thought the battery might be the culprit...upon further reflection, my guess is it's probably the starter (might be some ice)…when it lightens up, I think I'll give the housing a couple taps with a hammer.
If that works, I'll hit the driveway again this morning

Tractor started right up!! Not near as cold as yesterday morning...my guess is there was a bit of ice in the starter...just enough to prevent starting
So, did my passes on the driveway and road...rigged the front blade (we're looking at a few light to moderate snows between now, Christmas Day and new years...may as well be prepared).
I'm getting a lot better at using the hydro transmission in reverse...
Work's done...time for a sandwich or soup for lunch...a beer, maybe (who am I kidding??? No doubt a beer!!) and watch "It's a Wonderful Life"

Happy Sunday everyone. Light rain, clouds, hanging in the mid 30's for this morning in my part of the state.

Welcome. See you are in Buppies neck of the woods.

Good morning.

34F with fog @ 12:45, headed up to a high of 38F.

Agenda for today will be to see if can get those water supply valves taken apart now that I have an extra set of hands.

If I can't, I'll slide over to The Depot and grab a couple of ball valves and just go ahead and replace them.

And grab that order that I missed the other day while I'm at it ... ;)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Sunday.

Nice it started with out changing any parts. Maybe it was just ice....

Warmer out today in the low 50's. Wifes name came up for covid rotation at her work. So she's got 18 days of 12hr shifts taking care of a covid patient. Thankfully they've been able to keep it down to one or two patients at a time at the nursing home she works for.

Got bored today, so besides keeping up with the housework I decided to fire up the smoker and have a good meal for her when she gets home tonight.

Got 7lbs of country ribs, and using maple wood this round. Found a recipe for a maple brown sugar glaze that I'm gonna try on the ribs

Dftodd, hope your wife and you stay safe.
Roy, good news on tractor, enjoy your cold one

got another birdhouse built, used construction adhesive and an air powered caulking gun.
Took some getting used to, too much glue at times and sure was a mess to deal with.
Am curious as to what color it will dry to, since the cedar houses are left natural.
And yes Paul, it oozed and dripped all over the place, used up a lot of paper towels for sure.

then built the cover for my portable gen and got that installed. Need to get a cover for propane tank though I may store that in garage
and a plastic baggie to cover cord end.

time to chill

It can be very dangerous .. if you skip any safety steps;

For some reason the turkey frying instructions reminded me of chemistry class all those years ago. We were either supposed to add the acid to the water or add the water to the acid. Which ever I did the opposite. My shirt came out looking like I had been shotgunned without the blood. So that's why they made us wear safety glasses. I guess I will keep using my turkey fryer for boiling lobsters. I never had one blow up.

Chris

I used mine to steam crabs and boil seafood, too.
