Good morning!!!!

thanks Toppop, have to remember Clara...

looks like my trip to VA may get called off, PA now requiring either 2 week quarantine or covid test within 3 days if I leave state and return.
And covid testing very backed up, plus I can do nothing until test comes back. Not looking good.
I wouldn't stop on way down, would be there for only 24 hours, but who knows.
Next older brother just cancelled all Thanksgiving plans because son's MIL is coming from Florida and she is a known non mask wearer.

what was really strange was being in my oncologist office last week, and I said to the nurse going over my forms, you will be the first to get
the vaccine. NOT ME she loudly exclaimed. Huh? You are going to provide medical services to me and not take precautions???
Guess she is an anti vaxxer, a position I have zero understanding and sympathy with if one is dealing face to face with general public, particularly in
health field. I wonder if she lived in El Paso if she would still be thinking like that.
It's not really being an anti-vaxxer. How many class action lawsuits are there being advertised on television about some drug where they are discovering serious negative effects later on down the road? Heck, I saw one for baby powder the other day.

There is a large portion of the population that are taking a wait and see approach.

Our local university hospital is working on a vaccine. They are stating that It won't be ready for public consumption for up to two years even though they are doing clinical trials as we speak.

Makes you wonder about the safety of the current one that's about to be on the market.

my concern was for medical professionals not doing the most to keep their contact with me, a high risk senior, as safe as it can be.
Don't want the vaccine? Fine. Lots of folks won't get the flu shot for one reason or another. Russia's Covid vaccine apparently scared everyone due to inadequate testing and
worrisome results. The two US tests are said to be 95 percent effective and thoroughly safe. I'm sure we will hear a lot more about that in the weeks to come.
I get it about being an early adopter.

With cooler temps this month our county just went from green phase three weeks ago all the way up to the highest level today the "red" phase.

Drew do you know what is in the covid vaccine?

The flavor and smell of the cider was heavenly. I think much of that is lost when today's cider is pasteurized for longer shelf life.

It’s the preservatives that change the taste. I buy cider without.

I was on HD website last evening, exact freezer i wanted showed available, clicked the button to add to cart, it immediately showed unavailable. Menards in Triadelphia WV shows availability, gonna try to order and pick up Saturday, $250delivery is a bit steep for my cheap self.

Didnt know there was menards in triadelphia. Will have to stop in there. Doesn’t show on google maps. Up in the highlands , I stopped there last week at the new Chick-fil-A.

Back from Costco excursion.
Stopped for coffee at McD’s in Waimea on way. Got there about 9:30 and they were open. Still allowing seniors in an hour early. Of course here, that’s a busy time, there were already lines at the checkouts.

Found most items, not the LED strip lights I wanted for tractorshed, but most of the important stuff on wife’s list. Also some interesting, round ceiling mount LED’s for the caretaker unit. Good chance what we didn’t find we get elsewhere anyway. Sometimes our lists are accurate as to source. Limit of 1 Only on TP, no PT available. We got 2 as we had 2 carts and already planned to check out individually. If that sounds expensive, you’re right. Over $800 trip.

Had a DQ Blizzard for lunch.

Everything stowed away. Energy conservation rest of day.

I am one of the nay-sayers regarding flu vaccines. I will definitely get a flu shot if and WHEN the powers that be will GUARANTEE that I will not get the flu, whatever strain it doesn't matter. Flu shot=no flu then I am on it like white on rice.
The same goes for a covid poke.

Would love to see an independent analysis of the influence the media has played in this pandemic. I’d be shocked if positive. Mostly instigate, divide, and fear monger. What happened to the days when we tried to pull together and find the best?

59F and partly cloudy @ 21:00, headed down to an overnight low of 47F.

Neighbor called this morning, said company was almost there to deliver his pole building but someone had locked the gate. So I told him to give me a couple of minutes and I'd run up and unlock it for him which I did. He's got a '69 Torino (GT ?) with a 429/4-spd he just got that he's going to be sticking in it and restoring ...

Refilled tube feeders and reloaded one suet feeder, forgot to bring nugget feeder back down so will have to do that tomorrow. Squirrels were on the feeder most of the day - had four out around it at one point. Was about half empty at day's end.

Hauled some scrap wood up to the burn pile and tossed it in.

Got Menards order unloaded, took critter food around back and stowed in the basement, four sheets of backer board and sealant for the shower taken in upstairs and stowed in the hall/master bedroom.

Started working on cleaning out front gutter, wasn't up there all that long. Woman did not want me up on ladder with no one else here, presumably due to "high winds" ...

Moved the four pallets of blocks/caps and around ten t-posts from out front and the sprayer from around back over to pole barn and stowed them away for the winter. Brought sparrow trap and some other stuff up from around back and stowed it in the garage along with a bale of peat moss that had been sitting out front.

Fixed area by catch basin where I had sown more seed and deer had walked through it and left hoof prints.

Fed cats up and down, cleaned out cat pans.

Pad Thai for dinner ...

Hope everyone had a great day.

Guess she is an anti vaxxer, a position I have zero understanding and sympathy with if one is dealing face to face with general public, particularly in health field.

Could be ... could also be that she has concerns that the approval process has been politicized.

Not necessarily an entirely unreasonable concern these days.

I wonder if she lived in El Paso if she would still be thinking like that.

Good question ...

One might also wonder what her attitude would be if she was on the front lines, dealing with it day in and day out ...

   / Good morning!!!! #122,113
up early on a nice morning, warmer today and tomorrow, sunny and 61 today.
Will be a good day to work in woodshop.

I ordered a HF 12" sliding mitre saw, but had them ship it to me so I didn't have to go in their store, only 7 dollars to ship so fair value on a heavy item.
Until the electrician comes and wires some outlets in garage, I'm restricted to extension cords, heavy duty or not,
and with 15 amp saws, that's not ideal at all. Worse is I think they ran
the line to the garage off the circuit in the basement, which runs my dehumidifier. Sure miss my old 400 amp service...
Actually I could fire up the generator outside the garage and use that for juice if I needed to. It's rated at 71 amps at 120V.
If it didn't make so much noise, actually a good idea to get some time on engine and then change the oil.

Mostly, yes it was Wendy's. They were probably poking fun at McDonald's actually.

Hope you all have a good Friday.

GUARANTEE that I will not get

Bill, one of the first words of wisdom my Father gave to me that I remembered was that
there are no warranties and guarantees in life

There is always risk, but then to 250k US citizens who have died, sure is risk there too from Covid.
And Don, of course I don't know what is in the vaccine, but I can guess, since the methodology for vaccines is known.
Do I trust the CDC and Pfizer? yes, simply put
Do I trust our politicians? Heck no.
Pfizer would bankrupt itself if they screwed up and I don't think they will.

This is all still at speculation stage.
All I want for Christmas is a vaccine that will help me, not hurt me. For sure.
If it takes a small amount of risk to get back to our "old lifestyle" where we can give folks hugs and handshakes,
I'm willing to take some risk for that.

Good morning all

We made our thanksgiving dinner yesterday with all the fixings. Finished it off with apple pie and a large glass of oatmeal stout. Haven’t done this for a number of years, it was nice.

Not sure what today will bring probably just putter around outside.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

40 and a sky full of stars. Looking for a beautiful 65 to continue the drying phase of our soaked landscape.

The first hard freeze and 20s of the prior two nights knocked all the leaves off the royal paulownia, so will mow/shred them and the remaining maple and oak leaves today and clean up the zero for winter.

Happy Early Thanksgiving, Luther. Yum.

Visited my mom yesterday. 89 and gets around so well and sharp as a tack. First time we've seen her since the C.virus invasion. Did some chores for her, and brought in some Brunswick stew from the best chicken joint in Virginia Beach for lunch. Always good seeing aircraft carriers in Norfolk driving across the bridge-tunnel, and fighter jets flying touch and go at Oceana at the beach.

Good morning, the temp is 41°F and going up to 48. Wind SSW 6 mph. 30% chance of showers.

I will fire up the angle grinder and peal the skin off a fridge door I scored and that will get pop riveted onto the side of the chute that the wood will fall into off my loader bucket. The motor is right beside where the wood falls. So the tin will be protection for the motor (I hope).

That is all that I am doing today.

Have a safe and healthy day all
