Good morning all. Very much an inside day today, wet, windy and about as gloomy as it gets. A good time to have a bit of a tidy up in the tractor shed and sort through fishing tackle.

I picked up a solar panel for a battery maintainer for the Jeep. We will see if I can keep a full charge on the Jeep battery over the winter.

Is your solar panel external, or the type that sits on the dashboard ? Some of the first ones on the market were too small to keep up with modern cars and all their electronics, they have got a lot better in the last few years - just remember not to park in the shade ! Keeping the glass clear of snow will be something else to add to your daily exercises this winter. :)

Noticed that some of these solar panels now come with an OBD connector, very handy if the cigarette lighter socket is not powered up when parked.

Wng, hope your wife's mum enjoyed her birthday treat, pizza has got to taste even better after waiting that long.

I once went 19 years without pizza, then my girlfriend (and now wife) took me to one of the first pizza restaurants that had opened in Nottingham while she was teacher training in the mid 70's.

Mostly, that Gopher sounds reluctant to leave you, could be planning a name change to Staypher. :D

First cup of coffee has been poured. 19° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 45° with plenty of sun. Winds are going to increase this afternoon and tomorrow. That should send most of leaves into field next door by end of weekend. Another Dr appointment this morning. Then get water line blown out that I was suppose to get done yesterday. No other plans.
Michigan covid cases 268,362. Deaths 8,308. Oakland county cases 33,906. Deaths 1,275. Total test is 5,564,192. That's over half the population of the state. Many have been tested more than one time.

Drew, I thought of you when my neighbor brought his 1974 Craftsman tractor. Bought it at a estate sale for $200. Came with mower, front blade and snow blower. While it is not a Cadet it sure looked and ran good. Must have been in storage for many of it's 46 years. I made a bushing that was lost somewhere. Lens on my motion camera needed cleaning.

Thomas, welcome back. Been missing your E Muffins. :D

David, I have had a Plus for a few years. They got rid of the home button to get a bigger screen.

LS, boot/coat rack looks good.

Eric, amazing how much light pollutions affects what we see in the sky at night. When I visited Big Bend National Park in TX. The sky was bright with stars I had never seen before. Made me aware of it at my place. No lights on all night that are not hooded and pointed towards ground. So far the motion lights have kept aliens from attracting. The GM proving grounds has to be the biggest light polluter in my area.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

39 going to 60.

Ron, hide those deer...gun season opener today here. I'm walking back into the woods in a few minutes...don't plan to shoot, but enjoy being out, and enjoy hearing the nearby hunt club's dogs.

Thomas, glad you are back...was afraid maybe Boo got a little too friendly.

Enjoyed having MIL here yesterday. First visitor inside the house since the C.virus began.

Lots of road work going on nearby to repair washouts from the flood...some roads still closed...rivers I crossed yesterday the highest I've ever seen. My little bridge didn't wash away, but quite a bit of erosion and debris.

Have a good Saturday!

38 right now...after that rainy day yesterday, it feels damp and clammy. High in the low 40's

Chores: Definitely a dump run, stop at the bank (finally got our tax refund check!) and pick up a few odds and ends at the store. After that, continue those tasks I didn't complete last weekend due to the sciatica (which still reminds me it's there now and then..)

Sadly, my neighbor's wife, Kim, passed away yesterday about 1100...quite a bit sooner then the diagnosis. I stopped by after work to see how he was doing...he was OK, considering. A little reminiscing, between he and I, even though we've only known each other since 2013...
She had made all the arrangements a few weeks ago and will be cremated sometime this weekend. Tim (my neighbor) will have her ashes...
Nice lady, we'll miss her...

good morning all
38 out now, going up to 55 in sun today, should be nice.
other than draining outdoor water hose, not many projects planned, though the thermostat still has to be done.

Roy sorry for your neighbor's death. Glad the husband is doing ok. Never easy.

I have one of these going in my living room now. Bought another one to take to my 94 year old MIL, who insists on serving lunch to her grandsons when
they come to mow her lawn. Running one of these in dining room during social gatherings a good idea, hard to eat with a mask on.

Ron, that looks like a very good deal, much heavier duty build back then
I will keep my eye open next Spring for CraigsList deals

Good Morning
It’s 41 and perfectly clear sky this morning. Supposed to make it into the middle 50’s. Hopefully we’ll get some wind to dry the ground out a little, as it’s pretty swampy now.

Ended up on the roof of the restaurant yesterday changing out the 1-1/2 hp motor on an exhaust fan. Took three trips, one to determine the motor was bad, one to determine that they picked up the wrong motor (three phase), and one to install the correct motor. It’s only a couple of miles away, and they are super nice people, so it was more of an amusement than aggravation.

Maybe today is the day to get to the son’s barometer project. I actually have enough surfaces cleaned of to work now, but the cleanup is is no more than 60 percent along the way. The time consuming part is dealing with everything that I pick up, and not just making another pile. It is interesting that something that I wouldn’t throw out before doesn’t seem as valuable after aging on a workbench for a year or two.

Covid has kept us cooped up as well, I miss the interaction with other people, but not worth the risk, especially with a vaccine in sight. A friend just tested positive, but has no symptoms. He is a 777 captain and got infected by a copilot. His company (United) called him and told him to get tested, otherwise he would have never known. I’m not sure that I would fare as well, being older and having both my lungs collapsed from an accident a year and half ago. My nurse daughter tells me that I’m “high risk”.

Roy, sorry about your neighbor, same happened with my late sister in law.
Ron, those old Sears tractors were the equal of any garden tractor back in the day, you could get 3pt hitch on them. Not so much any more.
I recently bought a battery tender for the El Camino, it came with three different plug in terminals, the usual alligator clips, ring terminals and an HDMI? No instruction booklet of course. So I’m not sure if the HDMI can be used on anything or what.

36 going to 60 with bright sun.

Have a good day.

I've seen a lot of them at PA plow days. little tiny tractor with a little tiny plow. Fun to see a bunch of them coming down the field. I always wonder if plow days does the farmer any good.

38 heading to about mid 50's today. Need to make some store runs today. Maybe work on the other side of the porch foundation. LOL.

Car is still drying out, debating on call to insurance. Issue could crop up in a month or two when it is really dry and internals start to rust. Don't want another car. Don't want another payment and don't feel like raiding the piggy bank. Sigh.... Daughter is back to square one with her cash flow.... she needs to figure it out, and fast.

Covid is down the street from us. Neighbor said our co-op is infected with it. Wife was in there about two weeks ago, so she may have dodged it. My issue is last time she went, no one was wearing masks. It's just like that around here.

Roy, sorry about the neighbor.

toppop, maybe you can watch your battery tender on TV (HDMI). Like watching paint dry.

Hope all have a good weekend. Be safe.

What items is your store out of? Ours is is still out of alcohol and lysol spray disinfectant and lysol laundry sanitizer.

I picked up at 2 pm. They were out of stock on Water, lysol wipes(of course), chocolate, beans, olives and yogurt. That's the trouble with letting someone else shop for you. They don't know what items you would substitute.

Good morning! 71˚F heading to the 80s cloudy, still no rain. We are in a "Flash Drought". Yep, the first time I have heard that term also. Still cannot get a test of the vibration rain gauge with the fill rain gauge.
Kyle I was in your counties tax office a few weeks ago, now I hear they have closed due to covid. They have always worked behind their Plexiglas windows, even before covid they must have spread it internally.

Today is my neighbor's wife funeral, I hope he does OK. he lost a lot of weight during her last month.

I fed Whipper some of my sour dough bread yesterday evening. Do not feed dogs sour dough bread. She threw up four times last night, poor puppy.

Good morning to all! Low only dropped to 35, high around 55 expected. A strong cold front started approaching last night, a few strong gusts woke me up. That was the beginning of the forecasted high winds for today to reach 60-70 mph. Sounds almost like a dry Cat 1 hurricane.... that will be the "new" forecast word.... "dry hurricane".

I won't be doing much outside today for sure.... I did go into town and get the coat hooks yesterday. They will get put on and the unit moved into the house a little later.

David, that was good news about Sophie for sure!

Went to two grocery stores yesterday, lots of things cleared off the shelves. Barely any paper products, no eggs whatsoever, milk was sparse. The stores were only moderately busy with shoppers.

Then went to Costco.... WOW! It was like the Black Friday crowds... people almost fighting to get things. The store employees were telling people to keep distancing. Lines were the longest that I have ever seen, reaching back halfway through the store. I was slick and went around through the pharmacy side of the store to where I knew they had opened the new self checkout registers.... 4 people waiting in line for 6 registers... moved through in about 5 minutes. All the other sheeple still waiting....

Then when leaving, there was a long line waiting to get in... no carts available, and the employees now counting the "in and out" number of customers. When I got in the truck I found out why it was such a zoo.... the Governor closed down the state because the Covid numbers have been explosive. Only essential businesses can remain open.... panic buying at it's best....

Same with the gas pump lines... at least 15 cars in each line, stretching out into the street.... I said 'no thanks' to myself and drove home. I'll pay an additional $0.10 gal up here and not deal with that crowd....

OK, so much for my shopping rant in the big city.....
Everyone have a great day and start to the weekend!

Then you’d have to drive backwards with one eye closed.

Good one there, my friend. Got a good chuckle.

Don, wonder what happened down there at the tax office....

Here's a yucky story about home made sour dough. Spring break 1985. About 8 of us crammed in a 2 bedroom condo on the beach. 2 of us went and ate home made sour bread loaf sandwiches...along with plenty of beer. The 2 of us were up all night fighting over the single bathroom with explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting. TMI. Eat Texmex or steak with your beer on spring break...or no beer.

We got about 20 raindrops per square foot a bit ago. Not enough to get the topside of a cow wet. Currently 75F going to 85F. Plenty humid.

Prayers for our team, and this country.
