Good morning, the temperature is 47°F and going to a high of 59. Wind SSW 6 mph. Sunny!

I am not sure what I will get up to today. I might wire in new LED *** lights in the footwells of the Dodge, or I could fix the taillights on the trailer or I could do both.

Have a safe day all

Morning all! Another great day coming up. 49 to start with a sunny high of 70.
After 2 days of hard labor today is recuperation day. Knee is doing ok.
Drew, I know I posted pics before but can't find them. After doing some work for my neighbor he gave me a bunch of pavers he removed from his land in order to install a new deck. I am in the process of digging out the ground 10 inches and laying in 6 inches of stone dust then 2 inches of sand with all of it getting compacted. We got about 9 more feet installed the last two days. Stay safe and healthy all!
Here are a few photos.

good morning all
going to be another nice Fall day here, with temps in low 70's

only thing planned is waiting for mattress delivery this morning. I was in and out of mattress place yesterday in ten minutes.

Phil, thanks for pics. I always think macadam/asphalt for paving, not using "pavers". That sure will look nice when you are done.

Thomas, had to chuckle about your bear hauling off a nice cushion for his den. Smart bear...

after pumping up car tires with portable cordless compressor, decided it was time to order a real air compressor. Choice between a Sears unit top rated or Makita. Makita was much quieter
so I chose that one, since I intend to use the compressor to blow off sawdust while woodworking and anything loud (and most small compressors are very loud) would drive my tinnitus nuts.
The 1hp small unit I ordered was rated for 60db which should be fine, plus lots of reviews saying how quiet it was.

The shop vac that never showed up, and was replaced by Amazon, finally showed up yesterday in a fairly beat up box, must have gone around the world. There is no block to check for duplicate order on Amazon online so guess I'll have to call their CS number and request a return. I just don't need two of them and not comfortable keeping something I didn't pay for.

Shipping company called to confirm my generator was coming on Monday. Hope I can grease their palms to haul it back to garage where I can install the wheel kit on it. Otherwise have no way
to move a 250 pound box down a gravel driveway by myself for sure.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

44 right now...high in the upper 60's today.
Chores...maybe a dump run, but we only have one bag so it may not happen this weekend. Definitely need to get the driveway markers in sometime this weekend. After that, just putter around...
Got the phone (a Motorola Moto G7) paired with the Deere's radio...pretty good sound, considering it's a tractor and not a Cadillac. Doubt I use the radio much, but the CD player and Bluetooth will be used extensively
With this sciatica (my diagnosis, not the doctor's...but I've had it before), I'll be limiting my activities to a degree...

Wife and stepdaughter are going to a friend's mother's funeral this morning. I never met the lady...they knew her when both lived in Vermont long before we got married. The lady was a flower child kind of person...she had pancreatic cancer and elected to go with assisted suicide. That happened yesterday...today is a "green" funeral (Thinking About Having a ‘Green’ Funeral? Here’s What to Know - The New York Times). Good for her...
For me, just asked my wife to run me through the wood chipper...but only after I'm dead!

Poured first cup of coffee. 44° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 71° with partly cloudy skies. Sure cannot complain about the weather lately. Got shopping done and windows washed yesterday. Need to change oil, filter and spark plugs in whole house generator today. Then it's going to be a conserve energy day.

Phil, lots of work doing paving. But the finish job always looks great.

David, looking good. Is there a new down spout going on the eavestrough.

RS, great pictures.

Riptide, porch is looking great.

LS, hope the next vacuum comes with all the parts.

Bird, hope your printer problems are solved.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Crystal clear skies and 42 out feeding birds. Looking for 73 later.

Porch is really shaping up, Rip. It's gonna need a couple of rocking chairs soon.

Phil, sounds like you're getting those pavers in good and firm.

Thomas, the Boo family sounds like fun neighbors. One of the park rangers said the acorn crop is thin above 2,100' so most of the bears have moved down to lower elevations...explaining why we haven't seen one this fall on the Skyline Drive or on any of the higher trail hikes. My next hike will be to a lower elevation waterfall, so maybe I'll see one. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy yours!

Good morning.
Beautiful morning here already 46, supposed to go up another 30 degrees by afternoon.

Looks like a good day to do the (hopefully) final mowing for the year. Of course that means that I’ve got to take the post hole digger of the tractor and put the drawbar back on to pull the mower
Maybe once the mowing is done, I’ll pull the yellow tags of the lumber in the new bin. My wife has 40 alpacas and the bin is for the manure.

Drew- I’m not far from you if you need a hand with moving your generator. I’ve got a dolly with pneumatic tires that would make it easy.

Paul, thank you, kind of you to offer. 40 Alpacas, wow. Does your wife shear them and use them for wool? Pictures?

stink bug just landed on my pc screen, darn things are everywhere, wondering how they get into house.

Good morning to all! Low of 38, going for high of 65, that will be early, then front coming across and stirring things up....

RS, nice pics of the buck. I can see him getting into some trouble for sure!

Ron, nice pic! Beautiful bird!

Gonna get the yard picked up / cleaned up before the weather moves in, then hopefully some shop time.

Going to get an early start.... everyone have a great a great day and start to the weekend!

   / Good morning!!!! #121,516
Well we are getting our first rain since May and it is very welcome. The weather guessers are saying it will last through tomorrow, sure hope so. So far we only have .16 " and don't expect to get a whole lot but every bit is needed.

   / Good morning!!!! #121,517
Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 7:15AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 61F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Still no rain. Had 0.01" in August, and have to go all the way back to June 13th for the next quarter inch. The ten day is calling for rain through next weekend starting on Thursday.:dance1:

That looks like a small fortune in free pavers, Phil!

Hope your genny arrives safely and they can put it where needed, Drew.

I've been looking for a balloon tired dolly for a while now, Paul. Mind sharing make and model number of the one you have?

*** lights in your foot wells, Bill? I thought this was a family friendly list...

Looks like a happy blue jay, Ron.

Nice buck, RS.

Glad you solved the siding puzzle, Mike. Can't even tell the whole house is off...

Rough wood soaks up a lot of paint, David. Will the top coats be some shade of pastel, or will you leave it white?

Robots are great for repetitive tasks, Chris. According to Elon Musk, soon we'll have to pay people for doing nothing. Or have we already started?:irked:

Glad HD got the mess straightened out and gave you a deal, Ted. How 'bout getting Jeff to shoot some video of the unboxing of the new one?

The T-Mobile Home Internet modem showed up yesterday afternoon, but refused to find any LTE signal in the wiring closet, or in the office. So I put a long extension cord on it and put it out on the patio outside the office, and got two out of five bars. That was enough to surf the web and even stream video better than the satellite connection ever did, but I called their tech support to see if there's anything they could do to make the signal stronger. It took 45 minutes on hold to get through, but the support person thought it odd that the modem was connecting to a cell tower six miles away when there was one three miles closer. So he started a trouble ticket so see what could be done. Then he asked if I could leave the modem on so their engineers could test against it. It's not out of the weather out on the patio, but I have an extension cord running into the Vanagon for a battery maintainer. So I put the modem on the dash of the van, and now it's getting three out of five bars. Not a realistic solution, but I can build or buy some sort of container for it and put it up on the north side of the house without too much trouble. And so far I've been able to sign on to the modem's WiFi everywhere inside the house. In fact, there was an iOS update available for the iPad, so I let it run. Took two hours and sucked down a couple gigs of data, but it worked first time. Trying that on the satellite usually takes multiple attempts, and I usually have to start it in the wee hours of the morning when traffic isn't so bad. Fifty bucks a month for "unlimited" data is a pretty good deal, but at 50 Gbytes they start throttling the speed down. I usually use a bit over that each month, so we'll have to see what happens. Maybe I need two of those modems?:confused3:

I'll probably get up in the attic today and run some ethernet cable for the new security cams, and a link for the LTE modem. The temps have really cooled down and it shouldn't be too unpleasant up there now.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

I'm doing nothing. When does my check arrive? Wait a minute I'm getting social security.:D

Had bad headache most of night. Layed in bad till after 10. Better now.
Raking leaves away from house, then will get behind them with the blower and get them further away, then will use mower to move them over the hill.

Nice day out. Little breeze is bringing down more leaves away from house. So nice I brought chair out to sit in yard and listen to leaves rustling.
Last year was lots of acorns, don’t have any this year
Need to change car oil later if I feel up to it.

Funeral is Tuesday in southern Ohio, not sure yet if I will make the trip.

70° F and .37 inches rain and raining and we need it

Of course there will be no painting until it dries out. An inside day apparently.

Be safe
Have a great day
