48 outside this AM. Heading to mid 50's. A lot of water. Looks like all the work around the horse pens was OK. Just a few issues with around where the water lines were dug.
Managed to touch up parts of the porch ceiling yesterday, while the down pours were going on. Not much else accomplished. Drained the pool. Need to think about closing it up for the winter. Sure looks pretty with nice blue water against the fall background.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

Too much rain...creek is flooded and looks like a white water canyon ride...I told my wife we have waterfront property for a while. Wind never got too bad, but 10-20 miles away took down trees and caused power outages.

Don't say that too loud. The township you are in will jack up your taxes for the 'waterfront property'. :D

41 and still raining here. Just over an inch and a half so far. Not weather for getting outside projects done.
Power went out yesterday, generator and transfer switches worked as they were supposed to. Fortunately is was only for a half hour or less.
Today will be consumed with a trip to Florida, but it’s supposed to be cold here when I get back this evening.

I hope that puppies aren't as expensive as cats are here. I saw cats on the local craigslist as high as $150  I remember when you would be lucky to give them away.

Good luck!

Chris

We have 8-9 outdoor cats that I’d take $75 ea for!

2.12” of rain overnight for a total of 3.62” from this system. No dust here!
50° and falling, may stay upper 40’s most of the day with 20-30 mph winds.
I have on jeans this morning for the first time since April. I know the neighborhood ladies will be heartbroken.
Drew, good have a visit with the doc.
Ron, nice picture as always.
Mostly, yes she does put up with me.
Rip, charter or not, I’m glad it’s not me.
Paul, great looking guitar!

Have a blessed day folks.

Good morning! 39˚F heading to the mid 60s clear skies.

You can always tell the immigrants from the North that come to Texas - they were shorts years round.

OK Eric I give up what am I looking at in your pic for the morning. Is that some sort of green slab with the scattered leaves? Without the leaves it looks like kale jerky.

Kyle, I guess you will have to request a Steiner section on TBN so you can post all the details of you renovation project.

Good morning all, 30 going up to 43 - Rain- did winter just arrive a month early?

Nothing done outside but dog walks. Even she hates the rain, but loves the snow and cold

PJ - my kid would be in a candy store with those guitars.

Stay safe and be well

Daylight Savings Time ends Monday; two days from now. So I just got through changing 10 clocks just to confuse my wife.

You are confusing me too. Two days from now is Sunday.

So far you've been undamaged by your falls, Bird, and I hope it remains that way after your wife finds out about your "help" with the clocks. Congrats on your longevity!

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 53° today. No more rain in the forecast here for the next week-and-a-half.

I downloaded that SkyView Lite app on my phone last weekend, but hadn't had a chance to try it out because it's been cloudy here all week. Opened it up this morning and went through the setup, and while I was looking down at it, it started showing constellations based on the scattered pecans on the driveway. That was entertaining.

Stayed up too late last night playing the new guitar. Going to have to spend some time with it this weekend getting the string height and intonation adjusted. I had a black Les Paul Standard many years ago, but sold it, and always regretted that. The semi-hollow body next to it on the right is a replacement for another guitar I sold about the same time and also regretted. Now, the LP is replaced, too (but a white Custom this time). Wife asked me last night, "Why another guitar?" When I told her it was to fill a hole, she thought I meant an empty spot on the wall, and just rolled her eyes. After I explained that it was a sonic hole, and that every one of my guitars and basses sound different, and have unique tonal qualities about them that you can't get from other instruments, then she understood. Playing this one last night reminded me how much I've missed that sound.

You guys and these snow pictures already ... not encouraging.

Good morning to all! Low of 28, going for 58 today. Most of the snow has melted away, another couple days and you would never know it snowed. No more precipitation in the forecast for at least a week.

Did not get into the shop yesterday, went grocery shopping which took a lot longer than expected. Lots of people there, must be restocking after the storm. Lots of shelves empty.... the hoarders must be at it again!

Buppies, hold onto your pants if you are going to be shopping for one of those 'designer dogs' like a labradoodle or goldendoodle .... prices can be as high as $2500.... crazy high prices.

PJ, nice guitar! I hope it fills that sound void to your expectations. Have fun with it!

Bird, hopefully your wife just won't adapt to the time, then set the clocks back another hour on Sunday.... then you'll be really out of sync.....

Gonna try to get into the shop today, need to go to the PO first and send out a package. Maybe I can get motivated while I am out....

Everyone have a great day!

I have read a couple of different places that it might be smart to have a couple of weeks supplies on hand in case things get rough in the coming months. When that notion starts to circulate the shelves are going to get empty.

My one neighbor is a 'pseudo-prepper'.... rushes out and hoards anything that can be in 'short demand'. My guess is she has a full pallet of paper towels, another pallet of toilet paper, and at least 30 cases of canned goods.... I would make a bet that she would not use all that up in her remaining lifetime....

Worst about it, she keeps buying more!

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 7:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High near 80F. Winds light and variable.
Another perfect day of weather, one I intend to take advantage of from the seat of a motorcycle instead of the tractor, or standing at a bench or crawling under something.

Hopefully in the process of cleaning up the Steiner you'll gain some insights into what might be ailing it, Kyle. Or at least figuring out where the important bits are hidden. Sort of like an Easter Egg hunt with a bucket of soapy water and a hose.

Usta make one day there and back trips to Albuquerque from the SF Bay area, Paul, one time for a meeting nobody bothered to tell me was cancelled. Made for some very long days, and I don't miss doing that at all...

Good luck with your doodle search, Buppies!

Mother Nature must of heard you were getting low on sand at the bridge, and decided to make sure you had plenty more to dig, Bill.

Were you able to find a shop vac that was both quiet and had good tool storage, Drew? They seem to be something of unicorns, at least from the hunting I've done. Don't bother with HF bungie cords, either, unless you plan on replacing them regularly.

Will those new fish help in the battle of the weed monster, Eric?

I thought you were a bass player, Paul. That one looks like it has a couple of extra strings?:confused3::laughing:

Glad you'll make it out of the deep freeze this weekend, Ted. Hope the water does some good for all your new plantings, too!

Happy to hear your paintings have come to light, Drew. My experience with delivery drivers isn't that great, either. It seems like putting packages where they'll be safe would be common sense, but common sense seems not to be so common these days.

Regretably, "chasing my wounded (insert animal of choice)" is the excuse most trespassers/poachers use, Ken. See if you can get a license plate number or photos, and pass 'em along to the police or game warden. Otherwise the bad behavior will only continue.

Productive trip to town yesterday, and got everything on the list. The allergist recently halved their office hours for injections, and when I got there for the 1:30PM opening time, the office was already swamped, no one honoring the CV19 distancing requirements. Fortunately there's a nice park bench outside the door, and I had it all to myself. I even heard the nurse call my name; she had a good set of lungs on her. The fella at the hydraulic shop had the fittings I needed to plug the unused lines to the defective tractor valves, continuing their streak of having everything I needed in stock. And I got out of there for less than ten bux! The kid behind the counter at the BMW dealership had never seen a motorcycle with a headlight on/off switch before, so I unwrapped the one I was picking up so he could see it. I usually ride with my headlight on, but there are times where it only serves to drag the battery down. The postal clerk remarked that I saved ten bux when I put my bad valves in a "fits-it-ships" flat rate box; he seemed surprised at how much they weighed.

Used the duster part of the RG to blow off the red bike for today's trip when I got home, got everything packed, air in the tires and topped up the oil, and it's all set to go. Just need to eat a little breakfast while it warms up a bit. I'm packing a camp stove and freeze dried meals this time around, as most of the restaurants on the coast seem to be either limiting their hours and number of tables, or are outright closed. I'm also packing a cooler so I can keep fresh food from the grocery store cold. The KOA where the event is held has put on a nice smorgasbord in recent years, but that's a victim of CV19 this year. We also have to halve the number of tents in each campsite. But the show must go on!

Connectivity ain't that great over there, so hope everyone enjoys the weekend, and I'll check back in again Sunday or Monday...
