47F and rain @ 21:30.

Got the 3 sunflower seed feeders refilled, about half the fish tanks fed, and about 1/2 the water for pwc's moved into the fish room.

Dishes put away and some kitchen cleanup done.

All the rest of the boards for the squirrel feeders cut, including angles and slots for drip edges and the clear plastic windows on the the front. Even managed to sneak outside during the brief lull in the rain to un-tarp and use the radial arm saw. Only thing I lack is a set of hinges for the lid ... and those were on the Menards order I placed today. Have some more cracks in a few pieces that I need to run a little Titebond III in, which I'll do here in a little bit ... along with coating the outside of the boards with BLO.

Amazon delivered pump for parts washer ...

TSC and Menards orders placed and they are ready to be picked up tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Would love to see a pic if you get the chance.

It arrived intact. Needs some setup work to make it more playable, but it sounds good. I am pleased with it.

Heard rain in the night, and Rain all day. Looks like about over. Close to 1.5” in gauge.

I ordered an ambient weather station and it comes tomorrow.

When I got home last night, wife said water was leaking under the main bath sink, soaked everything in bottom of cabinet. But when I looked, the water lines and drains were dry and no obvious leak.
Today she txted me that water was on floor again and bottom of cabinet soaked.
I left work early, and there was another large pool of water in front of vanity.
Took the two drawers out , turned on water and could see water spraying from the underside of faucet. Of course, one shutoff would not shut off, so turned off water to house. Removed faucet, replaced bad shutoff with a new quarter turn valve I happened to have, then could turn house water on. Hooked faucet back up, with faucet sitting in the sink bowl, and saw that water was leaking out of the bottom of the faucet valve. This was a rather new delta faucet.
Went to Lowe’s and got new faucet and a few more quarter turn valves to replace some others. All my original water valves are the old screw shut globe type style, and most don’t work. Going to turn house water off again and replace some more.
Also bought a 3/4” ball valve to install as the house shut off. It’s a globe type valve and starts leaking around the stem when it’s used.

Just sat down to relax, and they started smelling something like it was overheating. Think it’s the satellite tv receiver, it was very warm so unplugged it.

Good morning folks

34 and rain now no snow yet, only supposed to get around an inch if any.
Any precipitation is good if it helps with this drought.

Wife and I got voting taken care of Wednesday, easy peasy only one person in front of us.
Got the plow ready to put on the tractor if needed.

Picked up grocery order yesterday and helped do some cleaning around the house.

Nothing planned for today just take it as it comes.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning, the temperature is 18°F and the high will be 32. Wind NE 6 mph. Mainly sunny.

There is a trip to North Bay in the cards for today, then maybe dig out the front mount snow blower. IF the guy in Timmins wants it to adapt to a Kubota, then I will need to remount the BH to get it out of the way and get at the blower.

I phoned MK Martin yesterday, they discontinued the front mount blowers a few years ago and don't have any, but they still have the information for them.

Have a safe and healthy day all

50 and rain just stopping. Looking for sun later and 55, then 30s every night for a while.

Kyle, looks like you've got a nice project. Should be a good engine with parts and manual available.

Mostly, just a good thick filter that fits the carafe just right for pour overs.

Fun looking at all the cat pix...we haven't had cats in last 25 years, but used to have quite a few, and still the occasional stray comes by to hunt.

Too much rain...creek is flooded and looks like a white water canyon ride...I told my wife we have waterfront property for a while. Wind never got too bad, but 10-20 miles away took down trees and caused power outages.

Eric, how's the fishing?

good morning all
much colder morning, 44 with rain continuing until noon, then clearing out, frost warning tonight.
Never heard much wind, think we dodged that bullet.

spent half an hour trying to track my shop vac, both UPS and Amazon pointing fingers at each other.
Finally googled Amazon's customer service phone number (they sure make it hard to find...) and after another 20 minutes
with CS lady clearly working from home due to background noise, she admitted unit was lost and a replacement vac was ordered and should be here
next Tuesday. We shall see...

have first appointment with primary doc this morning, looking forward to it. He is a generalist with a specialty in senior care, should be good fit for me.
Then tonight I go to relative's house for dinner, looking forward to some home cooking. I told them I had to wear mask and they said they will too.
Problem is you sit down to dinner table and everyone removes mask, a real weak point in the process unless you are sitting far from each other which at most
tables one isn't.

My sister told me her kids and family are coming for Thanksgiving and both sons agreed to get Covid tested before they came. Nice that testing is more
available now.

Hope you all have a good day and you Northerners dealing with snow, take it slow and safe.

Good morning all. While many of you have put up beautiful landscape pictures of trees, full of the colours of autumn, my contribution is going to be far more modest as the only trees cooperating around here are a couple of tiny acers, growing in pots on the patio. Instead of the wind whipping away the falling leaves, last night it seems to have been at work spreading them out for the rain to stick in place.

Acer leaves.JPG

More rain on the way, pointing and drainage projects seem to be on indefinite hold. Did manage a few hours of tiddler fishing yesterday, 2 buckets of fish transferred.

"I'm now older than any male member of my family has ever made it to"
Bird, congratulations, now keep on standing and set the new record at a figure your ancestors would really be proud of.

Drew, pleased to hear your family paintings are not lost after all.

Kyle, the steiner looks like it will give you hours of fun - wouldn't be half as interesting if it was all in working order ;)

PJ, have fun with your new guitar. Wish I had some musical talent, just never was to be.

had a "light" EM just now with 90 calories, 0 sat fat, .5mg total fat, 150 sodium and 0 sugar.
Put no sugar added marmalade on top. Very healthy, yet, for sure, muffin had less taste than normal.
However I have to cut back somewhere, need to lose 20 pounds

Ordered an Alaskan Mill from Granberg - time to make a coffee table

Ken, I have been tempted so many times to get one of those. Please let us know how you get on with it.

I once cut some large pieces of elm freehand with a chainsaw with something similar in mind. The homemade jig I made to flatten them with a router revealed they were nowhere neat as flat as I had thought, they took hours to level. Using the jig inside was my biggest mistake, chips flew everywhere and buried everything around, I was still finding pieces months later in every nook and cranny.

Nowadays I have a slightly different approach to working with wood. I still cut freehand, carefully store the timber for a few years to slowly draw out the moisture, then - put it straight into the woodburner

Poured first cup of coffee. 34° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with some sun in afternoon. Got garden pond is ready for the winter. Filled feeders and cleaned up a little more in cellar yesterday. Never got to Trak-Vac. May not be needed . Forecast for Sunday calls for 30+ mph NW winds. Grocery shopping today. That will be enough.
Not sure what these birds are. About the size of a Sparrow.
