Good morning!!!!

Good morning all 45 going up to 70 and sunny.

Kyle - glad the engine fix was easy- those airflow sensors can get pricey

Seems a lot of wood comes from asia now.....

Eric - sheep cooperating - time for champagne
Ron - sounds like a good day and as usual great picture
txdon - we had a neoghbor come and roll up some barbed wire we found along the trails at my uncles place. I probably would not have survived
Drew - glad you got your walk in, and toe is getting better - that VW might be the one I saw many years ago up on Long Island, if I remember correctly the drivers seat is pretty far back.
Looking - too bad you had to pay so much- seems all used equipment is getting snatched up fast

Had final fire yesterday on the oak stump, need to break it up and bury it today. Very happy another one down.
Seeded and covered the pool pit I dug for pipe checks.
Today need to re-tighten the dog run cable.
Doe and baby buck are back today- her son is now bigger than her.

Stay safe and be well

55 out with light mist/rain in the air. Went for a walk and now enjoying the autumn colors. LOL.

Kyle, fascinating for an insect that size to be able to get in there and screw up the airflow sensor. You should be able to keep those scientists at your work happy for days in pondering over the question of "Does a moth's body on a hot platinum wire act as an insulator, or a heat sink?" :confused2: :)

Might depend on if the wings are folded or spread.

nice walk this morning, a bit nippy.
VW buggy had Cool Guys Garage logo on door, and Wyoming plates
Googled that, got Facebook page, what do you know, a video on likely this car with a 454 up front.
Cool guys garage - Home | Facebook

Interesting comparison in that second picture;
one vehicle an extremely modified hot rod with what looks like an independent rear suspension in a front V8 engined VW bug,
then right behind it a Prius.
The VW would be a lot more fun.

Drew is it street legal?

It wouldn’t be here, the one that came to the big Ocean City show had hood and fenders and looked semi stock body wise except for the slightly raised and lengthened hood and custom grill for cooling.

Don, I have no idea, certainly would need lights, signals and inspection sticker, which I doubt it has. I wonder what those side pipes were off, whole thing looks like a
JC Whitney special, or perhaps just a lot of hard miles. I'm guessing off road only, particularly with that exposed fuel tank in rear.

Phil, hope you are enjoying your day.

53F and sunny @ 10:30, high headed up to 69F for the day, 0% chance of precipitation ...

Called Akron Bearing yesterday morning and spoke to them about a new yoke. Quite possible they may have it in stock.

Then went up to shop and got fire started and started working on removing yoke. Figured out that set screw in yoke was actually a roll pin and drove it out. Suspect yoke will probably come off easier now ... but it's still not budging. Soaked it with Blaster and let it set overnight ... although I imagine it's going to require heat to get it to actually come off.

That will be a bit tricky as it's about 1" away from 4-bolt pillow block bearing. Probably wrap the bearing with a wet towel before I hit the yoke with the rosebud ... :confused3:

Then headed outside to start finishing up landscaping for the season. The Woman finished trimming up the forsythia and I hauled two bucketloads of trimmings up to the burn pile.

Planted another 15 or so hosta sets in the west planting bed then hauled down three bucketloads of mulch for that and spread it out there. Still some fine tuning to do on the spreading of that.

Then switched over to northwest planting bed planted another dozen hosta sets there to replace ones that didn't make it. Used brush cutter to trim down weeds there and we got that raked up and out. One load of branches to the burn pile and one load of debris to the compost pile, with another one still waiting to be picked up this morning. Hung four half bars of Irish Spring. Did some weeding and trimmed large azalea and lilac.

Moved down to east planting bed and drilled holes for hosta, The Woman planted another 25 sets there.

And there's still more hosta sets left in the bucket ...

Since it's supposed to be nice out today, probably similar on tap ... have one good-sized oak tree to dig out and transplant, more hosta to plant, and mulching to do.

Grass needs mowed, but will probably wait until tomorrow when it will be a little warmer.

Today is the first day of early voting in Ohio, polls opened at 8 AM ... local news said people were starting to queue up at 6:15 ... lines were loooong ...

Jim, I've been gone for a few days. So sorry for the family. Prayers.

Thank you Kyle and everyone else. The folks on this forum are the kindest people around, that's why it's my favorite by far.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 7:44AM. Abundant sunshine. High 87F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
AQI 67 and 174, inside and out. Last night's fire report had them burning more control lines last night, and the air shows it this morning. They also said this would be the last of it until the storm passes, and that tomorrow they expect sustained southwest winds over 20MPH, not a good direction for them but the best from both air quality and fire danger for me and my neighbors. On the other hand, if the lines hold, the fire will bump up against them and be out of fuel.

Took most of yesterday to mount the new 6" wheel spacers on the M62. They're very nicely machined aluminum rings with eight holes and eight studs, so installation was fairly straight forward. But the instructions say to contact them if the factory torque specification is over 140 lb. ft., and the owner's manual calls out 196 lb. ft. Their (Motorsport Tech) tech expert said use 160 lb. ft., so it's on them if something lets loose. That was a LOT of torque wrench work, and Mr. Back wasn't at all happy when it was done. Celebrated by making a fresh batch of salad and grilling a nice piece of salmon. The new top'n'tilt valve is supposed to be delivered today, so that's on the agenda for tomorrow. Will need to dig out the photos that show what hose goes where.

Headed south this morning to drop off my old security cameras, then head to Apple Hill for some cider, then to the smog shop for the retest, then to a buddy's place for a nice Italian dinner and BS around the kitchen table. First time I've been away overnight in quite a while, and it feels strange.

What does the Irish Spring do?

The deer apparently don't like the scent of it, supposedly they avoid areas where they can smell it and thereby leave the plants alone.

Watched a couple YouTube videos on it from growers who were trying to prevent crop damage.

Specific scent may not matter ... just something perfumey (aka "stinky") ... :confused3:

45°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 78° today. Need to get out for a bike ride sometime today.

Had a contractor stop by this morning to look at the pond and give us an estimate on an aeration system as well as a small fountain. Said he should have a quote to us by Friday.

Talked with The Wife this morning, and she may be coming home a day earlier than planned. She was planning on leaving San Marcos and stopping to see her cousin in Quinlan for a day on the way home. She said when she talked to him last night, he told her he hasn't been feeling too well this week, so she may not be stopping there after all. I told her none of the animals here (including the long-haired two-legged one) would hate getting to see her a day earlier.

70°F and .0 rain last 24 hours.

Trip to PO this morning. The pieces for my Ubiquity Wi-Fi upgrade should be here. Not nearly as sophisticated as RNG, no video cams.

Good progress on the end wall framing yesterday. Hope to get those squared, plumb and anchored today.

Have a great day

Hope your message went well.
.

Not sure how it went, everyone did get up and walk out. eventually.
It’s on FB.

My dodge truck would just shut off occasionally. After I sold it to my BIL, he had something replaced that fixed it. Then he totaled it in a wreck.
