Any idea what brand that it?

It's a Jacobsen, model B-40 ... part of their Turf Equipment line (used to care for golf courses and similar venues)

Gonna be a **** of a leaf blower!!!

Yeah, I'm hoping to go through it, fix any issues, clean it up, and paint it eventually.

Drove the bearings and seals out of one of the wheel hubs tonight, got the other hub removed from the unit (There were bent nails in the castelated nuts on the axles rather than cotter pins ...)

Clean and de-rust the hubs tomorrow and see about slapping some paint on them.

Found a blower like that on Craigslist years ago when we still lived in PA. Thought about it, but didn't really have a lot of use for one at the time. Kind of wish I had that blower now though...cut my leaf removal to about 20 minutes!

There's one on the Hartford, CT craigslist currently ... looks to be pretty much complete and in supposedly in decent shape.

Jacobsen B4 Leaf Debris Blower 3 point Hitch Tractor Side Chute -...

Tad on the pricey side though, at $2995.00 ...

B-40's come up periodically as low as $300 or $400 ... although they maybe in rougher shape than the one linked above.

The B-40 Plus might be a better unit ... it's a newer model and uses a double belt drive (as opposed to the double roller chain drive on mine) ... probably quieter.

Also search for "debris blower" on eBay or sites dedicated to turf equipment.

RS, congrats on that brawny looking blower...

Thanks ... been wanting one for a while. Should make leaf cleanup a bit easier here.

I've never seen one in action...

Here's a couple of videos. First one might be comparable to the blower I have, second one is quite a bit larger with a much larger tractor powering it:

I just mow our leaves and let them mulch/fertilize the grass...but we don't have so many as to become an overload.

They said that the last time if Trump won, they never left.

Shoot, been promising us relief since Bush, yet they are still here, have to wonder how our northern neighbors keep them out for so long.

Thanks guys
Back from quiet, but nice celebratory dinner. Restaurant quite different that 7 months ago, menu very limited, but my companion was awesome.

Canada Customs weeds out the undesirables, the same as U.S. Customs and Immigration does.

good morning all. 56 degrees this morning going all the way up to 79 today in full sun.

Sounds like a nice morning for a walk but I'm not doing any walking this morning.
Woke up with what seems to be gout in my left big toe. Went online and read about it, never had it, sure seems like it.
I have very bad osteoarthritis so I know this is related but?
Weird, I drink no alcohol, have lost weight, eat little meat, and currently my juice of choice is diet cran-cherry. Only thing I can think of is I'm not drinking enough water.
Which I will surely do today, and stay off my sore foot. Hopefully this will go away promptly, really don't want another doc appointment at this point.
Going to try a couple tylenol and see if that helps, or some celebrex if I have to. They say prednisone is the best cure, but I'm already on low dose steroids.
It's like I'm doing everything right, but clearly my foot/toe is unhappy. Started last night several hours after dinner.
Have read this is pretty common; for those of you who have had this, was going to a doc necessary?

Long ago I read that this occurred in historic England from the folks there eating too many eel pies.

Didn't have much planned for today, now even less. Guess I'll call my arthritis doc and get his opinion.
Would rather be watching the Hosta Man blow leaves into the next county!

One thing I do have to do today is call Board of Elections in Doylestown PA and find out about voting. My absentee ballot finally came in down here, which means,
I believe, I can vote legally in NC until the day I leave, next Friday. At issue is can I get registered and vote within three weeks once I move to PA. Just don't know how fast things
can get processed there. My vote means more in PA, a "swing" state vs NC. If the law says I must be a resident of NC on Election Day, then my only choice is to try to fast track
voting registration in PA.
