Yeah, same in Vermont, but these folks are escaping restrictions in NY, terrorism in the city streets and such. They're definitely screwing up home prices in the rural areas of Vermont, new Hampshire and Maine

When number homes are purchase in area like ours property taxes go up but the city services don't. :confused3:

60F @ 17:30, showers in vicinity, winds howling.

Blower moved up to shop, fire started, furnace blower running, one wheel removed and size verified.

Going to clean up the old wheels and slap a little paint on them and call it good.

Two fresh Carlisle smooth tires ordered from tires4u.com up in Troy, MI. Price was right, free shipping, and they were fairly close ...

Hopefully have them by Monday.

Back up to the shop for more festivities ...

Back home from Vet, Dr happy with little guy’s growth, back in 3 weeks.
Made a side trip to cottage tenant’s house build. Concrete pour today. Major expense day - at least 10 trucks, the large pumper, 1 dozen workers. Just guessing but I’d guess about 25k.

Won’t be home for long as taking wife to early dinner back in town. That also opens door to visit brewery to replenish keg(s). Last 2 trips only got one due to lack of selection.

After got unloaded at the house I ran back out to pick up the pet store order (wet cat food, cat litter, and of course: treats) ... but before I did that, I ran over near Kent to have a look at a piece of equipment ... and look what followed me home :

It needs some TLC, a couple of new tires, and new deflector chute ... but the bearings and driveline seems pretty solid ...

Just in time for the fall festivities ...

Any idea what brand that it? Gonna be a **** of a leaf blower!!!
Found a blower like that on Craigslist years ago when we still lived in PA. Thought about it, but didn't really have a lot of use for one at the time. Kind of wish I had that blower now though...cut my leaf removal to about 20 minutes!

Happy Anniversary Sophie and David! 37 years, great!

Nice job, LS...that top link looks like a valuable addition to your family. :)

RS, congrats on that brawny looking blower...I've never seen one in action...I just mow our leaves and let them mulch/fertilize the grass...but we don't have so many as to become an overload.

Nice bright, almost full moon just came up a few minutes ago...I'm wondering what the Ronshot will be tomorrow?

Screen Shot 2020-09-30 at 10.23.00 AM.png

Well, it's not a RonShot, but it is a screen capture taken from one of the fire cams closest to the northern arm of the Northwest Complex Fire. This shows a large plume that developed around 10:30 this morning as the fire burned through tall timber and brush on the edge of the containment area. Hard to tell just where, but the maps now show the fire bounding on the east side of CA70 where it enters the Elephant Butte tunnel. From what I've heard today, it was too smoky to fly aircraft, so most of the effort was put into keeping it east of the highway. If it jumps, it'll only be six miles north of where the Camp Fire started almost two years ago. All we need is another "wind event" like the one a few weeks ago, and Paradise and the surrounding communities will be in a lot of trouble again. I'm waiting to join an online Community Meeting where those in charge will attempt to answer questions submitted by the local residents. I'll be curious to see if they have any plan to put this thing out, or just sit around hoping they can keep it in the containment boundaries. So far, they haven't had much luck at that...

Looking4new, enjoy the well deserved time off. I'm glad is isn't Covid time off.

But get ready I hear lots of Americans are thinking of trying to escape north if things don't work out for them in November.

Maybe you guys need a wall.

Chris
