60 and rain...moseying up to 67 later on.

BEF, 1800 second nap sounds busy, like it would be harder to maintain a restful sleep, than 30 minutes....and since Eric isn't fond of fractional naps, I'm sure he couldn't get to sleep if he was counting sheep but thinking about 2.08% of a day.

Hi there, workinonit!

Was out hunting skunk at 5am...turned on the spotlight and saw one behind the toolshed...when I opened the side door to go after it, it took off under the shelter...didn't see it come out the other side, so left it alone...no need to stink up my lumber and log splitter. Went looking after it got light, and didn't see anything but there are some good hiding places under there. At this point I let Coco out and she didn't seem to sniff anything.

Took a load of trash and recycle to the dump...trying to beat the rain, which I did...rode past the school where my sons went...very busy with school buses and cars dropping off kids...made sure I stayed within the 25mph school zone speed.

Eric, if you ever visit "the States" you are welcome to come here and shoot as many handgun rounds as you want...get your fill for a while...bring Max and Julie, too! But our oldest church only dates to 1639...

we collected pine cones one Fall and my wife dipped them in colored melted wax, not only made great firestarters but flames looked nice

We need to try that!

bought my Stihl brush cutter from one of the Histands-he never looked happy.
He was very friendly with me, but no he wasn't happy with the place. His father, the old guy in the corner office with some serious Alzheimers wasn't dead
for a week before he had the place sold to Eagle. I bought my Kubota L5740 from them, mechanic named Nick Charry lived a mile from the farm where I grew up, nice that I knew
who was working on my tractor.

I see Paul Moyer in Doylestown sells Husqvarna, they've been around forever but never seemed overly motivated. Pipersville L&G, the Kubota dealer, is also another option with me being up in Solebury now. Simplicity makes a nice mower but gosh they are expensive, right up there with 3-5-7 series JD. I was super happy with my JD X750 diesel, but I was mowing almost ten acres of lawn on farm, now just a nice back yard and a little around the house, but too much for a walk behind mower. At least in beginning until I find a decent mower and am sure of my health, glad to pay someone else to do it. Plus all my tools are gone, impact wrench, grinder for blades, cordless grease gun, etc etc, would have to start all over

68°F and .26 inches rain.

Helped wife get some power washing of the concrete yesterday, but she did most of it.
I installed the new Emporium Vue energy monitor in main distribution panel. Tight fit in a live panel so I had to be extra cautious and take my time. Didn’t like the fact it doesn’t really mount so I made a mount using a couple zip ties. Now I have a few hours data to review. Need to tidy up the sensor wires and close up the panel.

Need to visit PO, new Ubiquiti network gear should be there.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

72F and sunny @ 12:30, headed to a high of 79F for the day.

Ten day forecast has been revised (I was hoping): Rain showing to be likely on Tuesday only (still less than 50% chance) instead of three days, temps also (slightly) warmer for longer ...

Apparently yesterday's festivities tuckered me out ...

Unsure what I'll get into today, but I'm pretty sure the bird feeders need refilled.

Have some pallets of block (four ?) I need to move around back and set on the concrete surround around the frog pond. Thinking about consolidating them onto fewer pallets, and then using the pallets that are freed up to stack firewood on. Shouldn't need to move entire pallets any more ... can load a couple dozen blocks at a time in the FEL when I actually start doing the retaining walls.

Have one azalea I need to move from the west side due to inadequate sunlight, over to the northeast planting bed. Hole is already prepped, just need to refill the Water Buffalo and dig it out.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

who buy things and then realize it takes work then go hire out and park up whatever they bought.
My oldest and best friend bought a brand new JD LX280 garden tractor, mowed his new home's lawn just once,
thought back yard was too bumpy...,and then put mower in roll out basement garage and there it sat
for almost ten years with him paying a lawn service. Why he didn't sell it I have no idea and I wasn't going to embarrass him by poking at the question. But when I bought the home before the farm, and needed a bigger rider, we were talking and he said he might have just the thing for me. So I bought a 5k mower for 3k with 7 hours on it. Equivalent to 3 series JD, nice Kawasaki engine, it now lives in Delaware with another lifelong friend. Musical mowers among friends.

found the original pic of that JD as I found it in his basement, with Detlan sticker on it

Looks like a nice place

thanks Dennis, I think it will be. Very small house but I don't need much at this point in my life.
Back yard has lots of space for garden next Spring.
Pic doesn't show addition in rear, so two bedrooms, one bath plus small living room. And a separate garage for my car.

I think 30 years ago I used to insure this house for the grandfather of my carpenter, who was in fire company with me.
All good small town living.

Wouldn't that be an Irish whorehouse, RS?:confused2::laughing:

Nah ... French whorehouse ... with manly Irish patrons ... :D

I've got an extra quick attach plate laying around, and after seeing your root bucket, am thinking about making one of my own. Got any photos showing it in more detail, maybe with a tape measure in view?

I can grab some for ya.

I can tell ya though it's modeled on a WR Long product (their smaller one) and it has a reach of 30".

Since you have a much larger and more powerful tractor, you might want to go with a longer (36") and slightly wider unit.

The sides and bottom are fabbed out of 1/4 plate.

One thing I would recommend (and plan on doing myself) is to notch the top edges of the sides with backward facing teeth to rip roots.

I've found it to be very handy ... although it does work much, much better if the ground I'm using it on is fairly moist (I spent probably an hour or more yesterday digging out that oak ... which was in extremely dry ground ...)

Glad your air has cleared up ...
