Different type of picture today. My DS shows his Mustang Shelby. He has a made a bunch of stamped door props for club members. His say Shelby Cobra, I offered to help him making part that goes on the door side of prop. I have made a couple bolts so far. But I thought I would ask here if anyone knows what this stud is called and where to buy them. It is .245" diameter X 1" long, Threaded end is 10-24. Head diameter is .420".

I honestly didn't care about the size, there is always another day.

You're only beginning the addiction. Next step is tying your own flies and catching fish, then you start to explore tying on smaller and smaller hooks and having enough patience to land fish on them. My oldest brother was the best I've ever seen, he could catch cut throat native trout an 16 size flies that he had tied.I had to use a magnifying glass to even see the hook. Then you get hooked on buying the feathers and threads, peacock herele etc til you could fill a medium sized room with all your paraphernalia. Been there, done that when I lived in Colorado and had access to some great trout fishing.

Good morning to all! Low finally dropped of to 52 at about 5 am. Last night at 10 pm, the temp was still 82 and that smoke was thick! We left the a/c on and the house closed up tight!
This morning, about 3/4 of the smoke has cleared away, the big cold front is approaching, so opened up the doors and windows, the whole house fan running on high, bringing in the cool air.

Yesterday's plan to supervise the boys unloading the pellets didn't pan out as expected..... I cleared all the oak boards out of the way, organized a new home for the tool box, and started unloading the pellets. I did 38 out of the 50 bags before son #1 showed up.... he did finish off the rest.
Son #2 Was being as elusive as Eric's whopper fish..... he did surface about 4 hours later..... the oddity of this son is that he has a "fitness room" with a few very expensive workout equipment pieces. He "works out" everyday for a couple hours.... I/ we (#1 son) still kick his butt when it comes to "real life work". That's OK.... everybody can't be rough and tough.....We compare ourselves to equipment/ vehicles: I am classified as a CAT D-5.... #1 son is a Peterbuilt 379, .... #2 son is a porsche 911... Just fast and easy on the eyes....not much more....

The neighbor came over late yesterday afternoon with his BH, hoping I could get his Thumb mounted. It will have to be cut apart and modified to fit. (He purchased it before he even had the BH). We determined how we will mount it and what needs to get cut, so that will be today's project. A little bit of cutting, little bit of welding, little bit of cursing,..... should be fun!

The most recent weather forecast has a high temp of 45 for tomorrow, low tonight of 30. We have chances of snow mixed w/ rain tonight and tomorrow....

69°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 85° today. What was a clear forecast has now transformed into chances for storms all afternoon and evening. I'm OK with that, as we could use some rain here.

Boss stuck his head in my office door Friday just before noon and instructed me to "Get out of here," so I did. Got home just in time for The Wife to leave for her scheduled trainings. Got a whole lot of nothing done the rest of the day.

Saturday was too wet (with dew) to mow in the morning, and by the time it dried, I simply didn't feel like doing it in the heat. Mowed Sunday late morning, and the pasture beat me up sufficiently that I didn't do much else the rest of the day. Was going to finish the line trimming Sunday, but was still sore from Saturday's beating.

Wife decided to redo the sunroom again, and found some new furniture she wanted. So, we hopped in the truck and went to At Home (formerly Garden Ridge) in O'Fallon IL and picked up a new loveseat and chairs. The old wicker stuff was sold on Facebook Market place within a day.



I did get a new hat for mowing, since RNG was giving me some grief awhile back about my goofy tan lines. In addition to having a large noggin, it's quite difficult to get a hat to fit with a thick ponytail. Most of the ponytail hats are, well, chick hats. I finally found one on Amazon last week and ordered it. It came with a neck flap and a face flap as well, but I cut off the front one for the face. I used it Sunday, and it worked great. The Wife called me a dork when I put it on ... and honestly, I can't argue that point. I also discovered that it's not as easy to take a decent picture of the back of your head as one would think, at least without a selfie stick.



Saw a friend post on FB yesterday that they are expecting snow in Colorado Springs this week. They are hopeful it will help clear the air of smoke and ash. Their skies look like Ted's.

Speaking of Ted, now I'm going to have to check my bucket when I get home tonight. I don't recall it tapering in towards the back.

Drew, not sure I remember the last time I used the phrase "treat myself" in regards to McDonald's. Don't over-treat yourself there, or you'll end up with the McGurgles.

I believe RNG is correct, Don. That definitely looks like a stationery binding post. They come in many sizes.

Black and gray squirrels foraging around the bird feeders, northern flicker was on the nugget feeder just a bit ago. Downstairs cat had been let up for a visit when I got up, Squeak banished to the garage ...

Suspect the ground is pretty wet outside at this point, probably best to stay off of the lawn with the tractor. Might still be able to make the daily hosta quota though ... :laughing:

So it might be a good day to make the trips to TSC and Menards. Unfortunately, the Kubota dealer did not have all the parts for MMM on hand so those had to be ordered, hopefully have them by Friday.

Got the front of that tank cleaned off yesterday ... only to find that the fish in it - a couple of Julidochromis marleri - had grown up, paired off, and spawned multiple times. Scads of little fry all over.

The patchwork of holes (dark/black) in the algae cover on the front glass is where they have been grazing.

RNG, that’s 2 my son owes you. After spraying TPMS connections with Doxit. His problems with truck started to go away. The real problems of a bad dash cluster and DEF sensor were read properly. He now has 10k miles on it without a fault.

Thanks for the pointers, Eric. I'll try just connecting the probe, and leave the ground lead off. Still looking for the magic recipe to clear the memory buffer, set the sample frequency and duration, and get the results into a file. Back in the early '80s, I designed and built data acquisition systems and wrote the software that drove them, so this is well plowed ground for me. But the modern implementation leaves very much to be desired.

Sorry to read about Sassy's problem, Ron. A friend of mine used to care for his neighbor's dog when they were on vacation. They mistakenly told him that the dog got horrible gas from Alpo, so that's what my friend fed it for its last meal before they got home. Some friend, huh?:laughing:

I lost the feeling in my lower legs for a long time after using cheap knee pads while laying tile several years ago, Dave. If I ever have to do that again, I'll use a kneeling pad instead.

Played musical motorcycles yesterday, draining the gas and pulling the battery on the most recent acquisition, then moving it off the front porch into the shipping container, and putting the lift back into the garage before parking the next most recent acquisition back on it. Just after I did that I realized I'd have to move it again to work on the Honda generator, but it's a pretty easy on/off. And with the weather the way it is, I'd just as soon have everything inside with the doors closed just in case there is a fire. Also got the covers back on the big generator, again just in case.

Speaking of which, there were a chain of fires last night on the main drag leading out of Chico to Paradise. More stupid people doing stupid things.

Tried a couple more things in an effort to tame the o'scope, without success. Then noticed Amazon offers tech support for it through a chat service, but that didn't get anywhere, either. So I'm down to calling the North American branch of the company tomorrow.

Got word that my buddy's offer on a place in Klamath Falls was accepted, so he's about to join the ranks of the perpetually broke homeowners. He can't wait to move out of California, and in many ways I can't blame him. And of course, I've been invited to help him move...

RNG - Ground to ground or you have a floating probe and it will not reflect the correct waveform. The ground is the reference point to allow the differential to appear on the scope. Have you figured out how to do a triggered capture yet if the scope allows it?

... For many years, Billy, there's been talk of completing the road to Mono Hot Springs the rest of the way over the Sierra to US395, but so far it's only talk. Kinda hope it stays that way, because it would ruin the charm of the Springs, but then again maybe the fire has already taken care of that. Anyway, the Springs aren't that far from Mono Lake, geographically, but it takes the best part of a day, and maybe two, to drive from one to the other. Some fantastic scenery along the way, though! ...
