Good morning!!!!

Good morning. It was 81° this morning with 85% humidity so .. feels like 93° already. Our high is forecast to get to 98° and a very small chance for some rain.

Looks like we might finally get some rain over Labor Day weekend and even a few days with highs in the 80’s.

I needed to move the Corvette yesterday and the battery was dead. This is an AC Delco, that I installed at the end of May 2019. I couldn’t get it to even charge enough to use my battery tester on it. I took it into town, to the auto parts store, and the manager said he’d have to test it. He just left me a message that it was indeed bad and come get a free new one.

I need to get some yard mowing done this morning while it’s still cool (relative) so .. battery retrieval can wait until this afternoon.

Gas / diesel prices still reasonable here. Diesel for under $2 is still easy to find and I just paid $1.60 to fill my red diesel bulk tank.

Today .. marks the 75th anniversary of the signing of Japan surrender on board the Missouri, on September 2, 1945, and the end of WW2. Please take time .. to remember those who gave all during WW2.

Hope everyone has an excellent “hump day”.

Prayers to all.

70°F and cloudy with light fog this morning, going up to 84° today. We finally got some good rain here yesterday. We definitely needed it.

Found out yesterday that my favorite uncle died Monday. He's had a long ongoing struggle with emphysema. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance Thursday, tested positive for covid, went on a ventilator Saturday, and died early Monday morning. His wife, my mother's youngest sister, has been sick as well. She claims it's only a cold, but she's waiting for her test results, too. No idea yet if they will even have a service for him. My cousin's wife indicated they may not. Good guy; kind, generous, goofy, and turned me on to some wonderful music back in the '70s (most notably Eric Clapton and Steve Miller Band).

Got gas this morning at $2.29/gal, which seems to be the steady price around here recently.

73F and cloudy @ 12:00, high today around 82F, with some clearing possible later.

Already had two heavy downpours this morning, nearest weather stations (north and south of us) show 0.4 and 0.52 accumulation so far ... so looks like inside day for most part.

Ten day forecast shows lower chances of rain after today (nothing above 50%) ... but forecast is always a crapshoot that far out.

Sun making an attempt to peek through now ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Medcram 105 on Youtube was kind of technical but with all the b.s. flying around these days I enjoy the real information on Medcram.

I sprung for the fancy one. Probably way more capability than I'll ever use, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Like a lot of other things in life...

Nice scope. I think the connector block on my Tektronix was bigger than this whole device and had a much smaller screen

Good afternoon, Cloudy 76˚F
A before and after remote campsite #23 clearing. Temps were in the 70's and instead of wet with sweat we were wet from rain. We worker through it and the last hour the skies started clearing. We finished the 25 campsites in three weeks and next week we will be heading back to the trails.

It rained .18" at the house. Bird must be squeezing the clouds before sending them South.

Happy Happy! Joy Joy!
Floors are done and look great! Just need to clean up the mess and wait for the new furniture saturday.
Furnace was just a stuck one way valve letting water circulate even though heat was off.
And the best news of all is we have a working air conditioner/heat pump!!!
After numerous phone calls we found out the book and install instructions are wrong. We finally got thru to someone well versed in this model and he stated he had the same issue and fixed it by removing the white wire from the outside unit and jumping two leads in the thermostat. Instant success! These two units are recommended to be used together! You would think someone would fix the manual or publish the problem and repair!
Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Paul the covid really moved fast in your Uncle. Condolences to your family.
My BIL is in his 10th day after diagnosis and 12 days after a family gathering where at least 10 people were close to him. He continues to have no symptoms and no one else has symptoms, a few have been tested but tested negative. The different effects of this virus on people is really bewildering.

Rick, have you been able to evaluate the chain weed eater blade?

Buckeye, fun to watch your project move along, hope it works perfectly when you fire it up. Springs, circlips and ball bearings always did
me in...found that egg cartons made good holders for parts. I was initially wondering why you would fix a big box disposable mower; then looked carefully at
the picture and saw a nice fabricated deck; clearly a better model and worth fixing.
.

Just got home in the nick of time. Severe storm warning. Dumped .7” rain from gauge which included the .5” from yesterday. Hear the thunder, getting dark.
Mower was from dealer. They did sell smaller version of it in box store with stamped deck. I wanted the larger welded deck.
ZT is hydraulic steering, and easier to hold than a wheel. Definitely easier on my arms.

. Their gas had gone up to 1.85...about a dime more than last week when my wife filled up.

BEF, that transmission looks like a nuke or a space shuttle segment to my untrained eyes.
.

Costco gas was $2.05 this morning.
They just extended storm warning till 7:45. Deep thunder, still to the west. Phone giving lightning alerts. Getting windy.

If I hadn’t done the axle a couple years ago I probably wouldn’t have attempted this repair, but it’s really not hard.
