GREAT Idea!!! At some point soon I will offer to host a Virginia TBN Meat & Greet where we run a couple BBQ Grills and we potluck style a get together.

I bet we'd get a good turn out.

Be well All!

, hope replacing mower transmission is not a big job.
l.

Nice picture as always.

Going to rebuilt the transmission, bought new hydraulic pump and motor from tuff torq.

Enjoy the memories of Betty.
We don’t know what’s in store for us. I never expected to get GBS last year, but am very thankful it wasn’t something worse.
Really has me thinking of retiring. I worked 20 yrs at my first job and took a deferred retirement, and can start drawing a retirement this fall. The problem is health insurance, and the fact that my retirement salary is based on my salary of almost 20 yrs ago which was pretty low. So can I afford to retire is the question. Not without good health insurance, that’s for sure.
My dream is to move back to the farm and help dad, but my wife doesn’t like that plan.

Started on the mower. As cool as it is today, still very humid in the garage. Gonna have to put my window unit in.

I didn’t set any nascar records getting the tires off. At least I knew how since I had the transmission out 2 yrs ago. Unfortunately there is no drain, you have to remove the air vent plug and flip to drain.

Not going to be a very productive day. Wife decided I(she) has put up with my back/hip pain long enough and scheduled me a Dr appnt for 1130 this morning.

If you have extra melon you should try this recipe we found for watermelon jerky. All you need is a dehydrator, watermelon, knife, and parchment paper. After removing rind slice watermelon in strips about 1/4" thick, place on parchment paper covered dehydrator trays and set at 135 F for 18-24 hours. It's done when it breaks if you try to bend it. A really great tasting snack and very healthy. I think even Tx Don would approve.

Good morning!

81 here with a heat index of 94! :fiery:

It's going to be another hot day. I got overheated Friday and took the weekend off to recover. Been working on the 3910 for what seems forever but I only work until lunch. After that, it's just too hot. A good clean, metal repairs and paint along with adding remotes (3) and rebuilding lift cylinder. A new top and fan going in too.

Have a good day and hope yours is cooler.

Heat exhaustion is a killer. Know your limits. Once you get it, it comes back easier the next time. Be careful. EEEES hot!

70°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 87° today. Looks like we may have some storms moving in Tuesday and Wednesday. We could use some rain here.

Shop was closed at work Friday, so I went home early. Got home to find the contractor finishing up their work on the pond project. They smoothed out the few rough areas left, did some last minute leveling here and there with the skid steer and dozer, dragged a harrow through everything and spread some grass seed and fertilizer on all the bare areas (with a JD 4066R cab, for those keeping score), and finished just as the skies opened up ... but only for about 5 minutes of moderate rainfall. The end result: it's finally DONE!!!!! (doing the happy dance here)

Now that the big stuff is done, we still need to install an aeration system and a fountain in the middle, and toss in some koi. Then, it'll be truly done.

And, it only took 17 months and two contractors. I let the contractor know that we appreciated him completing in 7-1/2 days what the other guy couldn't get done in almost 17 months. Nice to finally have that one off the list.

So glad you all got it done to your liking. 17' is deep. Peaches sound good. I love peaches.

I wish I could get a nice cab tractor.....these "feels like" 114F days are debilitating.

That's a BIG watermellon, no wonder you have back pain....Hope you get some relief for your pain. I love your pics with the ocean in the background. You for sure have the world's largest swimming hole in your backyard. (not talking about your pool).

BEF, I need to do my tranny. I'm onboard to watch. It sucks that Tuff Tork quit selling the cheaper individual parts. You can find some on ebay.

RNG, hope you get your brownouts figured out.

Ted, like the cart. Looks handy.

I have my annual physical tomorrow. Already got my lab work done, everything looks decent, but my glucose has been "hanging out" around 100 now for 10 years. It was 101 last week.

Good morning all

51 now dew point 48 high of 74 today.
Sunny couple of days ahead.
Did some extra dump runs this weekend
Some general cleanup funny how junk can multiply all by itself

Enjoy your day everyone

Luther

Junk is my favorite 4 letter word. It always seems to follow me home.

RNG, not sure how much more they'll spend on the old compressor.....But they are claiming they need the desiccant dryer for the best air for testing fuel cells. I'm not sure just how low of a dewpoint they need, but also coalescing filtration for oil free air too.

Jim that sounds awesome. Unfortunately my past experience with electric dehydrators not great. Maybe the fact we are off grid and I’m not really keen on running power stuff at night. Tried bananas a while back and came out sticky ad rubbery.
