I'm going in for an abdominal CT scan on Tuesday (01 Sept). My doctor is concerned about a 25-30 pound weight loss over the last couple months. I'm not trying to lose weight, but I've had little appetite since I had my teeth (all of them) pulled a few months ago...and, I just can't eat anything but soup with my dentures.
I've had other abdominal issues since my stroke in 1999...strokes don't just paralyze what one can see...there can be (and was in my case) internal paralysis as well...really screws up my digestion.
Sure hope they get you fixed up. My wife could not maintain her weight on a soup diet.

Drew, got the water bill straighten out yet?
I think so...call yesterday told me my account was turned off and so was automatic deduct.
But they do not prorate the minimum water bill, which is about 36 bucks monthly. That minimum came in when they installed the electronic
readers six months ago and guess they had to pay for it somehow...

went for a nice walk, then came back and vacuumed and washed floors on rv
my Makita cordless vac is one of my pride and joy machines, I thought it was discontinued but apparently Home Depot
still has some. PEP Page not a big seller, too expensive for the market, but I have/had all Makita cordless tools so it made sense for me.
This one has some good suction and is so well made, clearly they built it to a quality standard and not a price point.
That seems to be getting rarer these days...

Good Morning.

69F, overcast, with light rain @ 07:45. Cooler today, with the high only expected to hit 78F.

Looks like rain is just about done here and ready to move out.

Saw meteorologist on the Cleveland ABC affiliate report last night that this area (Portage Lakes) had the highest reported rainfall total in the Northeast Ohio area: 4.7 inches

Apparently having a bit of a reaction to getting nailed by that yellowjacket/wasp yesterday - good-sized lump on my left forearm and some slight pain/sensation/tenderness in it. When I woke up I remember thinking that I couldn't have poison ivy because I hadn't been in any ... then I remembered getting stung.

Dunno ... maybe becoming more sensitive to stings as I age ... :confused3:

Looking like today might mostly be an inside day ... unless it really clears up and dries out, in which case I might tackle changing out the gauge wheel on the MMM.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Roy,

Hope your CT scan goes well.

Hear ya on the dentures ... I find mine to be next to useless for eating ... (and I rarely wear them ...)

Don't despair however ... you may regain some of that appetite as your mouth heals up ... and as summer ends (my appetite always seems to go way down when it is hot out)

While there are certain things that I just can't eat, like say whole nuts (basically anything really hard) ... anything that will soften up is not a problem (think Fritos, Doritos, potato chips)

Good morning! 78˚F heading to 100˚F only planed activity besides walking the Whip is a swim session in the lap pool. More indoor work today, The UPS is set up and everything is back on line except the M-cell. My phone can use wifi calling but my wife's older phone needs the m-cell for good reception. AT&T has already notified her that her phone will be obsolete in a year so a new phone instead of messing with the M-cell seems right.

BIL has covid. No symptoms, (he has "O" negative blood if that make a difference) he found out when he went in for a procedure in the hospital where they test all patients. It was confirmed yesterday with the results coming back from a second swab test and a blood test. That canceled our little Labor Day visit with the family as we wait for the rest of them to either test or quarantine, no one else has symptoms either. Seems like an invisible virus.

In our county we have our first human case of the West Nile virus. They found it in mosquitoes about two weeks ago in our neighborhood and since then 12 other places in the county. The first person infected lives in the southern part of the county, we are in the middle of the county.

Still dodging bullets. . . but they seem to be getting closer and more frequent.

Mostly, this article popped up today on colon cancer, and rectal cancer which finally took my wife down at age 55. Seems we need to start
screening for this at an earlier age. I wonder how much of this is diet related. My wife was a big meat eater and not so big on veggies.
Taught me a big lesson...more granola and less red meat.
Colorectal cancer cases going up among people younger than age 5, researchers say - CNN

The big news on the nutritional front is the American Medical Association says meat and Dairy should be optional on the US dietary guidelines.
