Paul, with your musical talents, does that bother you much? When you aren't thinking about it...
remember the story a ways back where I went to the Ram dealer and ordered a new door speaker, sure it had blown out.
No, it was the tinnitus. I have 80 percent hearing loss in left ear, not good on the "stereo" effect...headphones help though.

Not gonna lie ... yes, it is a considerable hindrance. When I was still playing live, it wasn't too bad. The only practical issue was if someone on the other side of the stage to my left was trying to talk to me.

In a recording studio, though, it's completely different. I can't hear many higher frequencies at all, and many others are severely limited. Some of that is due to the natural deterioration that comes with age. But, the damage/tinnitus plays a significant role as well. So, when I record something, I have to be mindful that I'm not overdoing (or overcompensating and under-doing) the high frequencies in the tones of whatever I'm playing. When mixing and mastering, stereo imaging is always a challenge. I have a good monitoring system in my home studio now, and spend a lot of playback time turning my head so I can hear with my less-damaged right ear, putting my head directly between the two speakers, turning around 180° to listen to it from behind, and sometimes walking down the hallway and listening from afar. I can also switch easily from stereo to mono in the recording software, and do that a lot, too (get the mix right in mono, then start in on adjusting stereo panning).

Ultimately, it's just another challenge to work around or through.

Drew, really good news!

You asked RS about his loader, I can’t help you there, but mine is a matter of folding the stand down, removing 2 pins, unplug the hoses and back out. Takes about 5 minutes. But I found I can mow just fine by just dropping the quick change bucket so that’s all I do anymore.

I’ve had tinnitus since starting an aspirin regimen in 1995, some meds like prednisone make it worse, but it never goes away. You learn to deal with it. Sometimes at night on the deck I’ll mention how loud the crickets and frogs are, and Ellen will tell me they aren’t singing.

MFW a little far out for us. Should have minimum of 5 inches 21A pug mill stone asphalt 9.5AL for surface mix. I recommend 2inches compacted asphalt any more is just taking your money. Paver preferabley 20000 pounds three to five ton roller for compaction of mix. If you are planning to use heavy equipment on it specs would change. I also prefer low rap mix if possible. Hope this helps

PS I am about 4 or 5 hours from you

Buppies,

Yes sir, you are unfortunately WAY TOO FAR away to help me.
Be well sir!

David

Technically they were fully approved. I've kicked out my tenant, I've bought another house. Technically I can sue them and force them to close. I only get their small earnest money immediately if I release them from litigation.

NO, buyers should not just change their minds at the end of a deal, and we should not allow it. Breaking a contract for no reason is not cool.

But I agreed and let them out of the deal. I get the EMD, and last night I had 5 showings.... Hoping for good news today...

Be well,
David

David with mortgage rates so low hopefully you will have no trouble selling your property again. In my neighborhood it looks like houses are selling in a week or two. That's how it was when the market was hot several years ago. I can't understand this economy. It looks like the economy should be in the dumps but it seems to be off to the races. Good luck.

Chris

Here is how it came out in the living/ dining area. I hope they can do the same with the bedrooms. All will be 3/4 thick boards.Walnut to tile and walnut to oak boards. The oak installed myself when we built.

Digging hole for pole turned out to be a non issue. Yesterday’s rain made soil soft for easy digging. One of the poles that support lean too on pole barn had rotted at ground level. Put new pole next to it. Bolted and used adhesive to tie them together. Thought another pole was bad. But only need some fresh dirt around it. Was back in house by 9:30.

RNG, good bad joke. 🤠

Drew, I have same tractor as RS. I use FEL to raise front wheels up high enough for MMM to roll under. Mower has swivel wheels at 4 corners. So it rolls easy on concrete floor. Then I drop FEL back down. There are 3 hook up points that take a couple of minutes to hook up. Then hook up mid PTO. Taking FEL off tractor is like Randy said. I also just drop bucket sometimes also.

Chris, I found it very helpful thank you and motivated me to send some suggestions for HEPA filters to my Quaker Meeting so maybe we can finally open up on Sundays.

Toppop, your Massey is a very modern design, like a modern swiss army knife, not sure RS's older tractor works that easily. Let's see if he says five minutes...

Ron, thanks I remember trying to do this on lawn and not concrete and it was a hernia producing event.

up in middle of night to take some tylenol for headache
Drew good news from hospital, how long before tinnitus settles back down?
interesting fact I learned this time, positive effects of chemo and also concurrent negative side effects peak at ten days after infusion.
Was told the headache came from one drug, foot nueropathy(tingly and feel warm) from another and I'm sure hair loss from all of it.
Hair loss is supposed to stop one month after last infusion and start coming back, maybe.
Have no idea on tinnitus, they simply don't have any cures for it; I start prednisone today for five days and that may help a little
I need to remember to put noise cancelling headphones in car, even road noise in a fairly quiet car is unpleasant.

Kyle, was told the B52's that could not fly were at least being put into hangars. Question is how will the hangar do...
My friend's brother down there is seriously worried about his new roof on home. I hope he has a backup gen.

I'm running a little late but your mention of hair loss with chemo reminded me of when we were going through it with my wife's breast cancer. We got to know some of the people in treatment and most lost their hair and it came back afterwards. Some had bald or thin spots and my wife has a small thin spot on the back of her head and her hair changed from blonde to a light brown. There some who never lost any hair and one lady who's hair just got curly.I guess that's like with most things in life, everyone has different reactions to whatever life brings our way.

I'm really glad that your treatment seems to be working well.

thanks Jim. My late wife went through chemo three times and the first couple of times she loved the fact her hair got curly, like a free perm!
I was going bald up top already so I don't have any strong expectations of much coming back.
I think women are much more concerned about this than men and I understand that.

Thomas, great pics! You should start advertising as a wildlife preserve and charge "donations" for critter food.

77F @ 17:40, down from the high of 89F.

I had just about finished mowing the front when the next gauge wheel on the MMM bit the dust. By the time I was finished raindrops were starting to fall.

It came in a couple of waves, with two heavy downpours so far. I think the rain has stopped but I'm still hearing rumbles of thunder ... hopefully we'll get some more ...

Did not get the side and back yards mowed ... :(

Before I started mowing I unloaded the culvert and the two pallets of retaining wall block off the truck. Got the culvert cut with the Sawzall and then moved all three pieces back into the woods near where the crossing is.

After that I moved the auger rack out from right in front of the garage, and loaded the three auger bits in it. Need to raise the cross bar, due to the augers now sitting lower in the rack (due to the addition of the 4 x 4's on the bottom ...)

The Woman is on her way home ... she did not stop and get any good homegrown tomatoes for BLT's ... :( ... although she still has a shot here by the house ...

It's pretty much as top (and Ron) describe it ... less than 5 minutes to drop the entire loader.

Probably about 5 minutes to put on the MMM and hook it up ... it is a drive-over deck ... which is what I do. Used to do it like Ron does ... but it probably requires more effort on asphalt than it would on smooth concrete. Four connections including the PTO shaft.

At any rate, it's not a lot of fun doing it in the hot sun ... but it's not too terribly bad ...
