He's just making sure you do a good job.

Good Afternoon all!

I'm a bit stunned, I just got a call from my realtor. The first group to look at my house/property Sunday wrote me a full price offer, with no home inspection...

WOW...

I'm moving!!!

God is good...

Be well all of you.
David

70°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 82° today. It is, in fact, 82° right now here in beautiful North St. Louis City (sarcasm alert).

Been a busy few days. Took off Friday from work to use a personal day. Wife wasn't feeling well, so I did some stuff for her around the house. Saturday morning was a bike ride with The Wife, errand running, then mowing the rest of the afternoon. Never did make it to the local Gravely dealer this weekend. Sunday morning was another bike ride, by myself this time, then dove into the tall grass and weeds around the back side of the pond with the walk behind line trimmer. Some of that stuff was 5-6 feet tall, and that thing took it down with little effort.

Been super busy at work this week so far, so finally got a moment to jump on here and get caught up.

Condolences on your loss, Ron. At least you got to enjoy all those years of companionship. How wonderful is that?

Neglected to mention that I completed my 54th trip around the sun this past Saturday, which was why I took off work on Friday.

David/MFW, marvelous, hope it all goes easily.

Paul, those walk behind string trimmers are fun to use, just beat the crap out of everything, very powerful...

nice surprise this afternoon when I tried the voice activation on Audi nav system and it started working again.
I guess they were trying to pressure me to pay for the extra service which I don't need, don't want, etc by turning it off temporarily.

couldn't find a PO drop box in any local shopping center (were they removed??...) so went to one of the Greenville PO offices and dropped off
a bill payment. Was close to ECU campus and lots of students walking around. Only 15 minutes to get most places for me, really convenient, took a new "back way" home past a variety of manufactured housing developments, lot of lower income folk in this area.

It痴 neighbors SIL that needs lots of prayers.
Sassy is smaller dog in picture. She is almost 18 months old.
Roxy is 8 months old.
Family member may take her. I was asked if that did not work out would I consider taking it.

Strong prayers heading her way!!!
The pup couldn't ask for better loving home than what you shall offer Ron.
I very much enjoy your wildlife photos...do keep them coming.

Awesome news, congrats, David

I agree, Ron. But for the past few days, I've been getting warnings from the electric utility that there will be rolling blackouts due to high electrical demand and low supply. They're doing a very good job of stirring people up; I got a text message at 2:30 yesterday afternoon, an email from them at 6:30PM, and then a freakin' robot phone call at 9PM, just as I was trying to drift off to sleep. So it looks like I'll get to test the power system even if there's no fire, all due to PG&E incompetence and more mismanagement.

Just to add more salt to the wounds, I got notice yesterday that the trust PG&E set up to pay fire survivors from the bankruptcy has a new questionnaire ready for us to fill out. I submitted a fully documented claim first time around, so why the heck should I have to submit it again? More incompetence and mismanagement.

Sorry to go off like that, but their behavior just makes me sick to my stomach.:yuck:

Here's more salt....California is finding out that solar and wind energy are not enough, and now they have brownouts/blackouts due to insufficient energy.....Ya GOT to have dynamos spinning.

Got another shipment of parts for the network yesterday, and got two new security cameras installed. That prompted me to download copies of the app for the phone and tablet, which made aiming the cameras easy. Not thrilled with the video quality; it's 1080P, but I'm still as ugly as I look in the mirror...

You're going to make it hard for me to sneak up and feed the lizards....

We got another .35” of rain around midnight, low was 64, high today 86, dew point is down to 66, not perfect but better than 76-78 like it’s been for a while.

I’m going to try out my new pressure cooker/slow cooker combo today, have a 6 lb broiler thawing in the sink. I somehow lost my old pressure cooker when built this house 8 1/2 years ago, haven’t had one since.

You guys have a lot going on! After 14 months of issues I’m starting to get more strength and stamina, it’s been a gradual climb with some bumps along the way.
BEF and Drew are amazing how they bounced back from their health problems.

Wngsprd, when I was a kid in NC, we had a sow bear that came up to the backyard and ate dog food and beat up the pan something awful. She would bring her cubs sometime.
We also had a coon that would come up and look in mom’s clothes basket while she was hanging out the wash.

Speaking of coons, Ellen caught one her cat trap last night, she released him back to the woods, it was very docile. She’s kept the traps out trying to catch one last kitten, but I haven’t seen him since Thursday night, so I think she’s wasting time.

Enough rambling, have a good day.

Prayers for you and Ellen my friend. Glad you got some rain. Hope the new cooker works out well.

Good Afternoon all!

Moss, that is great news! As for the first step... you better get a packin'!

Paul, happy belated birthday! I always tell the wifey..." I think I am worth $100 bucks a year"... so in your case ---- $5400.... right around the price of a new mower! :D:thumbsup:

Thomas, sounds like padlocks might be the next step.... maybe a couple of them for good measure!

I was able to get the water tanks down to the local place.... one at a time... the second one wouldn't fit on the trailer by about 2 feet off the end. It was bad enough that they wouldn't fit on between the rails, hanging over about 2 feet off one side. I figured it would be safer one at a time. They were much bigger in diameter than I remembered.

All was good... by the time I got the second one loaded, the first one sold! I am seeing a plasma cutter on the horizon...... or top and tilt cylinders.... oh no.... hard decisions....

I also completed the fence unroller.... the neighbor was very pleased with how it turned out. He won't get a chance to try it for about a week... he still has about 50 posts to drill and set in place.

Here are a few pics...

60F and clear @ 22:30, high for day was 77.9F ... very cool now though ... Low tonight is predicted to be 54F ... good sleeping weather.

Got started cutting down weeds up at the front of the shop with the brush cutter first thing, got that completed and all the debris picked up and put in the compost pile.

That morphed into continuing to clear some bushes that had grown up in the hosta bed along the side of the shop. Not sure what these bushes are (they have small dark purple berries when ripe) but they spread by root and the roots are pretty invasive and extensive. Spent most of the rest of the day pulling these up with a chain and the FEL and trying to dig the hostas entwined in them out ... got two buckets worth of hosta plants out of the roots, with plenty more still left in the bed.

The only downside to removing the bushes is that the west wall of the shop is no longer in shade in the afternoon ... :(

These hostas have done reasonably well in that spot for 20 years ... but they really get too much afternoon sun in the summer causing them to burn and yellow. For that reason I'm just going to dig them all out with the shrub bucket ... probably tomorrow. They will be replaced with lilies - which were already planned for the area in front of the shop where I cut down the weeds.

Did get a little trimming done on the rhododendron on the back edge next to the house but I still have to top it to get it out of the wires.

Also did some more work incorporating grass trimmings into compost pile.

Ordered 80 block caps for the retaining wall(s) ... which will be enough to at least get started ...

Hope everyone had a great day ...
