Are you certain your chain pitch is .325 .. and not 3/8? Measure between the center points of 3 rivets and divide by 2.

If you use Oregon Chain .. you can look it up on their website.

Yes I am. I bought 2 identical chains and took the measurements directly from the unopened one's container.

Good morning! 78˚F before sunrise, Feels like 78˚F, wind 1mph WSW, Humidity 88% no dew, dew point 74˚F, Wet Bulb Temp (if you jump in the pool and get out it will feel like 75˚F.
This is going to be a hot day, heading to 100 again, still no rain (more than .01") since I put up the weather station.

Cedarcide day I'll see If I can go 2 hours, just too hot.
2-3 roofs a day are being replaced in the neighborhood after the hail storm 6 weeks ago, I don't see how they do it when the temp is in the 100s every afternoon.

Gray2 came strolling into the backyard from a neighbors house with another mouse to show us, and then quickly ate it before I could grab it from him. He is banned from the house till he digest it. There is always a good chance he will barf it up since he gobbled it down so quickly.

Good morning all. My trusty McNaught K32 had eaten through my last tube of grease yesterday, so I had a trip out to buy another box.
It cost much less than it could have, thanks to Covid-19. There is a small but generally well stocked tractor bits shop in the next market town, only this time there could be no wandering around and being tempted to impulse buy any of their special offers, a barrier across the open door kept customers and hopefully their nasty bugs outside.

"So sheep are get stuck artists as well as escape artists?"
Big time, for example, as lambs get older, they don't give up when their head no longer easily fits through the fence where it did last week, they just twist and push harder until they can nibble the grass on the other side, with not a care in the world that they may not be able to get out again until someone responds to their bleats for help. Fortunately ear tagging regulations only require sheep over 9 months old to be tagged, by which time they have either learned that lesson - or been sent to market.

Drew, you should notice quite a performance difference if you change to a solid state disk. As BEF says It is easy to do with some free software and a cheap disc caddy plugged into a USB port while the disc is cloned. Easier still is to take your PC (or just your hard disk) in to a local shop and ask them do it. If it is the disc that is making noises it may not have long before it dies.

Well .. mine should be in the mail box by about 2:30 this afternoon.

I have a mix of both .325 and 3/8 chains. I'll let you know how it works.

big Audi gotcha showed up yesterday. Dash said my subscription to Audi Connect expired, which involves hands free phone use, which I never use, and hands free navigation which I use a lot. Their voice recognition works very well. They referred me to website to renew. $599 for 18 months subscription! I don't think so, I'll be happy to enter the nav address on the keyboard. 33 bucks a month for that feature is absurd

76 going to 91. Flood watch.

Wish you guys in NH would get some of this rain. We were parched in July, and soggy now.

I bought one of those Timberline chain sharpeners discussed on TBN a few years ago, and am very pleased with how it sharpens the chain. You buy the right size carbide bit, attach the unit to the bar, and hand crank for each tooth two or three spins, sharpening it. But also have to use a flat file for the depth gauge. Takes a little longer, but always happy with the result.

Eric, glad you are getting good use of your K32.

Bird, sounds like a very productive day after persevering..I need your example today for motivation.

Mostly, "family circus" sounds interesting. Coco is not up for long hikes right now.

The Carolina wren chicks fledged from the nest on our porch yesterday...glad we protected them from the black snake...which didn't come back the last time I took it for a long walk.

I need to scrape the underside of the mower deck today after cutting so much moist grass. I'll get the cha ching out for a good radiator cleaning.

I'm sure I'm making this sound harder than it is, a number of you have swapped out hard drives easily. I want to be proactive here and not reactive to a failed HD.

I can't speak to the specifics of how to migrate your data to a new SSD (Solid State Drive), Drew, as I don't "do" PCs.

What I can tell you is that you will see a substantial speed improvement in your laptop after the migration, one that will leave you scratching your head that you didn't do it sooner.

The safest approach I've found is to find an external USB interface or enclosure that will house an SDD that is compatible with your laptop. Then use cloning software (I think there's a PC program called Ghost that does this) to make an exact, byte for byte copy of the hard disc in your PC. Then boot from that clone while it's still in the USB enclosure to make sure it works and has all your data in it. Once your happy it's OK, swap the two drives. Put the old PC drive and USB enclosure aside for a while to make sure nothing untoward happens while using the SDD, and after a while you can use it to backup your laptop.

For a guy that was about to dive head first into an iPhone battery swap, the above process would be a piece of cake once you have the details in hand. If one of the inmates here can't help you out, Google and YouTube are probably all you need, or find a PC shop with good Yelp! reviews. Stuff like this is their bread and butter.

Good morning- 80 going to 85 with a "feels like" 96 and sunny. Forecast is "unstable" for next few days.
We had over 5 inches of rain in the last week, and the ground already feels dry.
Helping wife do lower cement deck power wash today-cleaned out some vines I killed to make the garden look nicer.
We have a LOT of peaches this year, but they are 1/2 normal size...

Got a lot of the cleanup done and started making the "gate" for the upper deck so my dog can roam. The one I am building was one I saw on the Martha Stewart show. The only one I've ever watched. Interesting to see how the other half lives.

Wngsprd - how is Coco?
Drew-glad to hear your Dr. visit went well-$599 for gps-get a new phone with Waze for a lot less!
Jay - Where are you?

Stay safe and be well
