Ron, that Ian of London YouTube drone guru recommends always flying within visual range of the drone, and watching the drone, not the screen. That puts the k-bosh on a lot of stunts people pull with them, but I'd rather follow his advise and get it back every time.

FWIW, I had an anxious moment the other day when I fired up the Mini inside to check out one of the Fly app's menus. The drone didn't have a GPS lock and it was dark enough the camera couldn't see the ground, and it was flying itself straight into the bigscreen TV. :pullinghair: Mashed both the down and back levers and got it landed without further excitement, but next time I try to fly inside it'll have the propeller guards installed!

Sorry about your boy's drone, Randy. Most of DJI's new drones fold up pretty small now; did I understand correctly that he has a Mini? It folds into a package about the size of your fist. I you go over to the DJI website to look, be careful you don't come home with one.

Yes, he has mini he carries in his truck as a backup. He sold his big drone because he didn’t use it enough to justify his investment. It’s a side business, he does insurance and real estate related stuff mostly. He did shoot that Virginia promotional ad a couple of years ago with it.

Glad you found the key Drew
Frustrating when I’m looking for something that actually looks different or different color than my mental image.

I have that same problem because I don’t retain color well, I’ll think my buddy had a red Camaro years ago, and it will have been yellow.

By the looks topical will travel dead center for us starting tomorrow late afternoon into early Wednesday AM,sure hope it doesn't pack the punch like topical Irene did years back...Wednesday and maybe Thursday will be clean up day one form or another.

Same here.

after being told by MB dealer I had to drive to Raleigh in person with ID to order replacement keys, and then when they came in, had
to have rv towed all the way to Raleigh to program keys, I just knew this was going to be an insane cost. One last thought, I emailed my prior
next door neighbor, and asked him if by any chance he had the ignition key. He laughed and said I had it in my pocket. Say what?....
well....the big black fob which I thought was a dumb item with just lock and unlock on it has a concealed compartment where if you push the little button
on it, out pops the ignition key. Geeeezzzzz. He had tucked it away, which I never had... sure felt like an idiot, but a very relieved idiot.
too late to go get propane so I'll just stay put.

I have another project done! The park bench turned out very well, already put into its place. Wifey is happy.
Some pics of the final assembly and the finished bench out by the pond.

Very nice LS. What did you finish the slats with?
I haven’t got the rust reformer on my ends yet.

Took over an hour to catch up on today. So I’ve forgotten most of it already. need to make list of what people said.
Big storms today. I was at work and didn’t notice. Still raining when I left, but radar said big ones were past. This is not from hurricane yet.
Here is mini drone folded.

Can still see scar from a ruger slide 23 yrs ago.

When I need to run a temperature test on some of the devices I test, I put them on the dash of my car. Easily gets over 120°F for the test I’m doing. Our electronics get tested from -18C to 71° C (0°- 160°F) and sit at the extremes for 48 hrs. Will also get tested at 95% RH for 10 days, among other tests.

Working from home tomorrow.

Wife cut the cabbages this morning. Going to vacuum seal and freeze. Very small and bugs were terrible this year.

Woke up early in the chair this morning, didn’t hurt too bad so was able to lay in bed and sleep another hour. Hurts now after working all day, but getting better. Have a Dr tele video appt this week.

Drew, hang on tight!! Glad you found key.

Young man working with us who has cancer finished chemotherapy now on radiation

Prayers for your coworker. I’ve had 2 young coworkers pass from cancer in their 20s. Not fair.

spent Saturday tracing out the leaking pipe for the pool. Still have not found leak- digging by hand is getting old.

and dog helped me celebrate birthday- had fresh lobster and the wife baked me cookies!

Stay safe and be well

Hope you find leak soon.
I remember when I was young our water line between well and house had a leak. Dad handed us shovels and said have it dug by the time I get home from work. We only had to dig the wet spot.

Wife brought home an anniversary cake for us today. Anniversary was in April, but Costco wasn’t baking cakes then.
Dog is cute.

Thanks for the link.

My generator is dual fuel, but I've only run it on LP...hoping to avoid the starting problems I've heard others have with old gummy gas in the carb. It only puts out 8100 Watts peak on LP vs. 9000 gas, but I mainly used it to keep refrig and freezer food from spoiling, to make coffee, and to run the microwave oven so don't need the extra power from gasoline. With a diesel mower, I don't keep much gas around except in the winter, for the saw and splitter.

Glad you got your firetruck on a good trajectory.

Heaven forbid we not be able to make coffee!!!:laughing: ....knowing the intensity you pour into your java.

How is your daughter doing Kyle

Thank you for asking, and thanks for all the prayers. She is much better. Much better. Back to her sassy self. :)

Prayers for your young coworker.

too late to go get propane so I'll just stay put.

first rain coming in, heavier stuff after lunch. Forecast is now expected to be a minimal Cat 1 hurricane, with gusts to 70+mph. This should be an interesting night
tonight. Rv is all chocked up and I'm in the lee of three larger motorhomes on three sides, which should help block some of the wind.
Path of storm is just West of me, basically right over my head.

RNG, cute friends!

Drew, glad you found your key! Now where was the spare again? Also, I'd be tempted to keep the nose pointed into the wind.

Glad you found your keys Drew! Do you have enough propane to get through the storm? There will probably be power outages....

Ken, I have 2 knee braces. I will occasionally wear them, but they usually only make it feel better for about 30 minutes. After they are removed, the pain usually gets worse and / or range of motion gets decreased. My orthopedic surgeon recommended to not wear a brace... he really tries to avoid having any of his patients wearing them.
Did the pup at least get a piece of cake?

Hoping your fall's fallout bangups are getting better.

I've been meaning to get a propane kit for my Honda generator, just haven't gotten a round tuit. Did you convert your generator yourself, and if so, what kit did you use?

I'm looking at one from Nash Fuel right now...

Sez the guy with the huge cummins LPG genset....I'm hoping you only use the honda for camping or outback lizard hunting lighting. You need to run your cummins regularly for a while. Let it charge the batteries on cloudy days.

Was 66ーF and cloudy this morning, going up to 75ー today. Rained pretty much all weekend here.

Spent the better part of Friday at a friend's place in St. Charles MO Helping him with some keyboard programming. He's the keyboard player from the Sammy Hagar tribute band I used to play with, and he bought the same Roland synthesizer I have. The guys in the band have been giving him grief over taking too long to find sound patches during shows, so I went over and helped him program everything he needs into sequential user locations. Now, User 1-15 contains everything he uses. No more scrolling through six different banks of sounds, a little over a thousand in all.

Saturday was rainy all day, and I don't think I left the house all day.

Sunday was another rainy day. I ran a few errands early, then settled into my studio and got some guitar and keyboard tracks recorded on a couple of songs. A productive day. Made tacos for dinner, too, which is always a good thing.

Happy (belated) birthdays, Randy and Ken.

Glad you're feeling better after the fall, Ted.

Kyle, I just finished a book that could have been subtitled "How To Write Lists." The author must have suggested nearly a dozen different lists. I've never been a list guy. I've tried, but I can't even fathom the number of grocery lists that never made it off the kitchen table.

Batten down the hatches, Drew.

PJ, I find myself scribbling lists depending on how many chores I have to do. Also for groceries. I can turn a corner walking into the barn, and forget what I went in there for.

Prayers for those in need. Stay safe if your in the storm's path.

rocking and rolling, woke me up, worst part is coming in, currently 30mph winds ESE
power still on, no leaks but no way I can get back to sleep with this going on
so....Heaven forbid we not be able to make coffee!!
yes, first thing I did was put a pot of coffee on...
Figure if I lose power, which is pretty likely, at least that will be done.

Wind is hitting side and front of rv now, making it rock a little
reminds me of a stormy night on the boat in Florida
Just keeping my ears open for unusual noises

Been light rain here so far, but just picked up. I can now hear it now on skylight. Eye of storm now over Drew just west of Greenville NC

I’ve been up since 2:30. Tried to sleep in bed, then rolled wrong way and pain woke me up. So back in lazy boy. Can’t sleep.
Just went out and put my rain gauge up, stuck it in ground out front.
I’m working from home today.
