Good morning!!!!

Good morning. We found the sun again, enough to heat a full tank of hot water yesterday. It's gone shy on us this morning, which is fine with me as I can keep cool while getting on with a long promised tidy up by my welding table. I hate to throw away metal offcuts, not sure if may-one-day-come-in-useful-itus is a recognised medical conditions, but I seem to have been afflicted with it for most of my life :)

Congrats on getting the farm sale through Drew, when you look back it sold fast and relatively smoothly considering there happened to be a pandemic running rampant at the same time. Good luck with the next move.

Randy, my wife thought her corn was growing well, now she says her plants look stunted after looking at that pic of your uncle.

Kyle, king of the compressors! Our lesson of the week on what perseverance (and talent) can do !

RS, when we hostas in our garden they were always getting grazed off by slugs. Your leaf thiefs are a lot easier on the eye.

Prayers for all

good morning all.
up very early, composing long letter to family telling them of my plans and the reasons behind them.
Plan to give two weeks notice on Monday to assisted living and move into rv.
I expect to get some pushback but I have reached the point where I have to make decisions for myself.
They would be more comfortable if I was in a facility where there were folks supposedly looking after me, but even the local hospital
wrote me up as qualified for a "home environment". My home will simply be very small for awhile. The campground I have chosen also brokers larger
diesel motorhomes (I particularly want a washer/dryer) so I'll keep my eyes open. Will not leave NC until I get another PT Scan saying I am doing ok, probably
in early September.

73 going to 93 here, hot muggy day. Hope you all have fun things to do on your Saturday and go slow in the heat.

74 outside this AM. Heading into the 90's. That's officially, I looked it up, 17 days of in the 90's, straight. Long term outlook is for another 10 days. That would mean a new record. No rain for us with that storm that caught most everyone's attention these past few days. Lots of pretty clouds though.

Good for you on the plan, Drew.

LS, I'd like to see some hanging planes. Hobby shack is sounding really cool.

Hope all have a good start for the w/e. Be safe.

71 and raining right now...high in the mid-80's and a possibility of rain and/or T-storms all day.
Other then a haircut this morning (hopefully, all the barbers will show up) and wash clothes at a laundromat. After that, take the day as it comes...

70 going to 93.

Too cloudy for the comet watch this morning.

Yeah, Rip, we got only the pretty clouds from that storm, too. But we did get a pop-up after I went to sleep that left a nice gift of 5/100s of an inch in gauge, enough to settle dust and motivate me to get the Zero turn out later this morning. Yard is shaggy.

I second Eric's proclamation: Kyle, King of compressors. :proposetoast:

RS, I'd call that a Sparrow Palace, rather than a trap. Nice build job.

Still trying to wrap up my MIL's taxes...found some good info that will help her regarding tax deductibility of certain assisted living expenses.

Good Morning Everyone! 77 degrees and humid this morning.

Have to load the Branson up this morning to take in for it's first service. I have always done my own service so this is a first for me! Just trying to support my local dealer some.

Hope everyone has a blessed day and stay safe!

70F light rain humid mid 80's for high chance t storm late afternoon.

Outside chores done E muffin time. :licking:
Plans for today...Take Mrs. to super market and putter. :confused3:

Enjoy the rain all.

Good morning! 70 now, supposed to get to 91 today. Had some rain yesterday which cooled it off nicely.

I had to rebuild a mower deck spindle yesterday and was going to install a set of Gator blades. 2 of 3 bolts broke off which meant quality time with the drill press. Lower bearing came out in pieces. Then the Gator blades physically wouldn稚 fit. So need to return those. There are times I truly despise keeping lawn care equipment alive. But gotta do it.

So nothing else I planned to do didn稚 get done yesterday.

Not sure what I am gonna get into today....

Everyone stay safe out there

Me too! you might have to eat it with a fork but warm homemade cornbread, plus bbq, yes that sounds finger licking good

90 degrees out at 7:30pm, yikes. Friends in Delaware and PA said huge storm came through, headed into New York now

We got that storm too.

Still trying to wrap up my MIL's taxes...found some good info that will help her regarding tax deductibility of certain assisted living expenses.

My mom might be needing some deductions regarding assisted living in a year or two, please share. It might make her decision easier if she knows there is any tax deduction.

Good morning! 76˚F heading to the low 100s. Trash day for mom, and front yard mowing is all that is on the must do list today.

Congratulations on the successful closing Drew and your self escape plan. Yea, no helicopter needed Rick, stand down.

Any day the helicopter escape is not needed is a good day.

Going out to mow before it gets hotter, already hot. Headed to 91, 84 now.

Drew, great plan, if you need help let us know.

Have a good day.

Coffee is done brewing. 62ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84ー with some sun shine. Canceled shopping and went to check out a tent renting place at local state park with my aunt. TentRR. Seems a little expensive. Then thunderstorms came in. Got .27" rain with a lot of lighting. Prep tractor to cut back field if it dries up enough today.
House on side road next to me I posted about little over a week ago has sold. $363k.
Starting 7/13 every business in Michigan must enforce no entry unless wearing a mask. That ought to start a few protest. Because percentage of positive test has jumped from 2% to 3% of those tested. :confused3:
The Rodent.

Drew, glad you got the sale done. Washer/Dryer in a RV is a problem. Many have a all in one. If you want something that has to run all day to get a complete cycle. Otherwise find a RV with a stacked set.

Riptides, way to many 90 degrees days. We have had 8. Back to normal Michigan weather staring yesterday. Mid 80's.

RS, Menards 11% until 7/18.

Kyle, good work on compressor. I have 4 of them. 30 gallon oil in shop, 20 gallon oil less in pole barn. Other 2 are are portable oil less in garage and animal barn. I need to some maintenance on shop compressor.

LS, you know that we need pictures. :D

PJ, 4 day work weeks would work for me. That why retirement has worked so well for me. No work days. Just projects.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning to all! Low of 65, going for 99 today. I am sure it will peak into the triple digits again. Records being broken daily all around.

I will get some pics of the hobby shack today. There is a "wall of planes", I was trying to avoid any on the ceiling, but I think one or two might end up there....no more room elsewhere.

Drew, sounds like a good plan. I think you are very good at making your own decisions. Glad no helicopter is needed.

RS, good luck with the sparrow trap. What prevents other birds from going in there?

Ron , a good pic of the resident rodent. How close were you?

I am going to get started early this morning, so cutting this short....

Everyone have a great start to the weekend!

Good Morning!!!! 76F @ 6:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 104F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad the real estate drama is done for you, Drew, and that you've set a direction for your near future. Hope you'll take us along on your new adventure! FWIW, one of my fellow motorcycle club members retired about fifteen years ago, bought an Airstream trailer, sold his house, and has been "homeless" ever since. Seems like he's never more than a few days in one place, bicycling, hiking, kayaking, and doing tourist stuff is his new full time job. "Going where the weather suits my clothes" is a good way to describe it. Seems like his "gang" usually has about a dozen people he does these things with, and the faces change regularly, too. So "homeless" doesn't mean you don't have a home, or apparently, a family.

Kyle and Rich, you never know what you'll run into when you start taking something apart. So you roll with the punches and just git'er done. Whatever it takes...

Yeah, Ted, it's HOT! And getting hotter...

How much wood did that woodchuck chuck, Ron?

Hope business picks back up soon, Paul. Before you get too used to four day work weeks!

As of yesterday, we had 338 confirmed CV19 cases in the county, 118 recovered, and 4 dead. Doesn't seem like much, but the number has doubled in only two weeks.

Pretty much confirmed that the valves on the top'n'tilt are causing the leak down. Haven't been able to find a spec on what Kubota considers an acceptable rate, and I really don't want to lose the ability to float those valves as would be the case if check valves were installed. Too hot to do much about it this weekend, so that's put off 'till Monday.

Got a new credit card in the mail with an updated expiration date, and spent some quality time updating all the automatic charges that go against it each month. Oddly, a number of the accounts already reflected the new expiration date.:confused2:

Pizza steel showed up yesterday, too. Nice smooth finish on it, but will need to clean the oil off before it gets used. Slow cooked a rack of baby backs yesterday afternoon on the BBQ, that Sweet Baby Ray's stuff is the bomb!

Ordered a tambour door for one of the cabinets on the van, something I've been meaning to do for over a year. The company also makes roll up shutters for doors and windows, and I'm thinking they'd make a good addition for the house, too. They're not cheap, but what price peace of mind?

Also ordered an adapter that turns the folding bed/back seat in the van into a rear facing seat. Another one of those too long put off things.

Figured out that the suction line on the firetruck is threaded 2 1/2" National Hose, and started looking for a hose supplier. That stuff isn't cheap, either.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today; it's an opportunity rich environment...

My mom might be needing some deductions regarding assisted living in a year or two, please share. It might make her decision easier if she knows there is any tax deduction.

Look at page 12 of IRS Pub. 502...

"You can include in medical expenses the cost of medical care in a nursing home, home for the aged, or similar institution, for yourself, your spouse, or your dependents. This includes the cost of meals and lodging in the home if a principal reason for being there is to get medical care. Don't include the cost of meals and lodging if the reason for being in the home is personal. You can, however, include in medical expenses the part of the cost that is for medical or nursing care."

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p502.pdf

I read some other articles from Elderlaw, TurboTax etc. that give more info/detailed explanation. So these costs would be added into other Medical expenses to help get over the hurdle and based on her situation, possibly beat the Standard Deduction.

69°F and .08 inches rain.

Need to start cleaning out small equipment side of the tractorshed, get everything there reorganized, make room for the stuff being relocated from the container. Not exactly a task I look forward to but necessary. A multi day event for sure.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
