Top pop, we share an anniversary, except mine is when I got GBS a year ago today. At least that’s the day I noticed it in my legs.
Drove camper home the 7th, could barely walk into ER the morning of the 9th. By 10th I couldn’t walk at all.
Been noticing more tingling in my feet lately.

Working at office this week.

No AC at the farm, but was manageable with fans running. Outside in the shade during the day.

My sister had told me of a brick oven pizza place near Cumberland Md. we stopped on the way to Ohio, and got about the best pizzas I ever had. So on way back to MD we picked up 2 more.

Uneasy rider is my favorite Charlie Daniels song, RIP.

3 more months of pictures dated and labeled tonight, probably did about 600 or so. 2 more months to get caught up, then start scanning more photos from my parents. Too hot to work outside.
Stormed all around us, but none here. Grass is drying up.
I hear RVs are selling well. Hope you get a good price Drew.
I still need to install new awning on mine. I bought it, never opened the box yet.
Wife made blackberry jam today. Tomorrow she’s making sour cherry jam.
Got some sour cherry juice, but haven’t tried it yet.

Good evening all. 76F for the start, overcast rain in area, light breeze. Periods of showers, light wind day, and high temp of 85, feels like temp 92F. rain soon after breakfast messed up mowing and riding schedule. Worked on sink that would not drain, it builds up black gunk on drain plug. Did get mowing in, did get nap in, did not get ride in spacing of rain showers not good.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson unchanged
Dennis sounds like nice day, just watched 1 video.
RS flowers looking good, FL must be smiling, ribs looked good.
Kyle yo have had your issues with compressors. I enjoyed my glider time, 6 ft wing span called the Drifter II, power was an 049 with a 1 oz fuel tank, would run 15 minutes. I could glide another 15-20 minutes after that, then would loose focus.

Don, I put the rain gauge on my fence and very little sprinkler water gets in the gauge. I don't recall any rules for WS placement around here, and they have rules for about everything :confused2:

Mike the aluminum fuselage is new to me. Had my best 3 channel luck with a scratch built designed by my boss at the time, plywood fuselage and foam wing with a .15 Supertigre engine. Flew it until I got too cocky and had wing failure

Don’t know how many pieces of white shelving I ran over in the left interstate lane tonight, they were spread over 2 lanes and had no choice but to run over. Glad I wasn’t behind the vehicle when they came off.

71 going up to 92 today. Some powerful thunderstorms around dinner time last night,
really gave the area a soaking which was needed.

Kyle good luck with compressors, sounds like you will be busy but you have a good plan.
Always impressed with how many hours those rotary screw industrial compressors could rack up.
Inexpensive home units can make such a harsh irritating noise I now know to buy them by the DB rating.
I had a Quincy 3.5hp unit in my barn and was always satisfied with it. I would have gone 5hp but was amperage limited

seems my rv dealer is now interested in buying back my motorhome after ignoring three calls from my brother and one from me.
Text came in saying so sorry it took so long to get back to us...super busy. Studied their website, yup both of their identical new units are
under agreement for sale and no used ones left. So now they are interested in mine. The question is how much they try to lowball me. They will make
it easy, which they are banking on, will come and pick it up, leave a check. No response yet from rvtrader and craigslist ads, except for one Craigslist inquiry but that
guy never called back, so I'll probably have to come down a little to sell the unit to dealer. I sure have experience doing that lately...

Quincy's are good. Scrolls are good, hydrovane are good.

Drew, tell your RV dealer that they already made a good deal on you buying it from them. Offer to have them sell it for a $500-1000 commission. And you have final say so over price. Be sure to tease them that you may purchase another in the future.

The sheetrock repair is painted and ready to test for movement, all we need is some 20˚F weather.

Kyle I use this Mrs. Wages Salsa Tomato Mix, Medium, W536-J7425 at Tractor Supply Co.
to make my salsa. It is easy and very good and can be found at tractor supply or Walmart. I do not follow the first step of scalding and peeling the tomatoes, it is unnecessary. Just cut the tomatoes, ad the mix and vinegar and cook for 10 minutes. I picked another 6 pounds of tomatoes yesterday and am going to make another batch of salsa.

I might just try that. My wifey has been making chunky Pico de gallo. Good luck on those sheetrock repairs. They often don't hold up. I remember my house on the limestone in Cedar Park. When it was new, you would hear stuff popping and creaking as it warmed up in the morning.

Today is our one year anniversary, that girl has been my rock through all my health issues I love her dearly.

Went to see wealth management guy today, Ellen has to roll hers out of the Perdue/Wells Fargo account after 40 years, and I have to invest the lot sale proceeds. Haven’t done much of this in years, my brain wanted to mush up. I heard terms I didn’t know existed. I’d just happily left mine alone, but I’m told that was imprudent I believe was the term. LOL

I have plugin Wahl clipper that came with a small battery powered trimmer. I can do a decent job, but Ellen is much better. Of course I just use the smallest guard and buzz it.

Went today and bought a fig bush to plant, also have a Mimosa.

I just got through blanching, peeling and de-seeding another 8 quarts worth of tomatoes. Ready to turn into sauce tomorrow.

I got the Speedaire's cylinders honed today. There are still some stains on the walls, but pass the fingernail test. Took the head into work so I could wash it good in the wash basin, and blow out all the nooks and crannies. (bet y'all haven't heard that in a while)...

On the buzzbomb, I went ahead and bored the aluminum cylinder. It was in really rough shape. I had to bore at least .015" out of it. It is nice being able to bore on a mill with a Criterion type boring head. Now I have to figure out what I can make a compression piston ring out of. I've googled oil less compressor rings and no one says exactly what they are made from. The old one is molded, and it's almost like it has some copper in it? I will probably make one out of teflon or Peek if I can find a piece big enough.

Didn't get to do much today. Planned out a work table for the hobby shack, took some measurements, and made a materials list. Then went to the local lumber yard.... took 1 1/2 hours to get one 24", and one 12" wide piece of particle board shelving. That took what seemed to be a half hour. The kids in the warehouse building kept getting 16" shelving... no one had a tape measure... not that you couldn't look at a board and know if it was 2' wide....

I needed 1, yes only 1 ---2x4x8'.... not one to be had... they had to get the guy who operates the saw to get a 16' to cut in half.... he kept bringing banana boards.... even though I kept telling him that I needed it really straight. That took another 1/2 hour.... OK, just 2 -- 1x2x8' needed...Great..back to the kids nope.. only 16' , so they had to find the saw guy again...

The last time 2 times I went there, I had paid for materials at the counter, only to find when I went out to the yard, they didn't have what I paid for. They cancel the invoice, put a credit back on the card, then bill you again for the replacement items.... drives me nuts how they do that!

I was so frustrated by the time I got home, I was not about to start cutting stuff up. I would surely make a mis-cut and have to go back for more materials.

I decided to stay inside in the A/C and take a "rehab" day. I will get a fresh start tomorrow.

Sounds like you folks need a Menards too. Good to take a rehab day.

70F and mostly clear @ 00:30. High reached 93F today.

Spent most of the day outside in it ... although I tried to stay in the shade for the most part. It seemed hot ... and not much breeze.

Got the cow manure and compost applied to the blueberries first thing, ground is still showing that it's wet using the moisture/light/pH meter so no watering, pH is still high ... so probably vinegar in the next watering. Hauled the branches from the pruning up to the burn pile.

Watered hydrangea (4 gallons) which was wilted ... that perked it right up. Unloaded clay tile for bird bath from van.

Got the kerfs cut in the Gilwood Slot nest box roof and got the rest of the nest box drilled and screwed together. Still have to install the front door and roof (with caulking) and install the pipe flange for mounting.

Got the steel rod cut for one mealworm feeder and the holes drilled in all 8 posts to install the rods (will need to pick up a second piece of 1/8" rod to complete the second feeder though) Posts got BLO applied. Holes drilled in the mounting blocks and those painted, along with the bottom of one of the bases.

We checked nest boxes #1, #2, and #4 a few hours before sundown. Three wren hatchlings in #1, unable to see into nest box #2 (nest box is filled close to top and cup of nest is too deep - will try an inspection mirror and flashlight next time) - but there was a house wren that flew out when we approached, and five bluebird nestlings in nest box #4, including three with theirs eyes open. Probably within a week or less of fledging so likely will not open the nest box again. Saw one of the parents. The parent bluebirds do not seem to taking advantage of the mealworms I've been offering - there were still ones left in the feeder today ... not sure what's up with that.

Refilled bird feeders after that, saw a gold finch feeding at one, also put some mealworms out for the Phoebe ... but did not see it. Also have not seen a second Phoebe ... just the one.

good morning all. 75 degrees out, 90% humidity, showers this afternoon, normal summer stuff
up very early, slept too much yesterday, plus got to thinking about crazy high bill I got from pharmacy supplying the
assisted living place I'm at. My normal drugstore copays are 70 dollars a month, Medicare part D. Got a bill for almost 400 dollars,
researched pharmacy, a specialty chain dealing only with nursing homes and assisted living. Hmmmm.

Time to discontinue "prescription management" which already costs me 600 dollars a month, and go back to local drugstore.
I expect to get driving privileges back next week and will sign up at local Walgreens which is in same shopping center as Food Lion, 1/2 miles from here.
I think current setup is big convenience to assisted living and very poor value to patients, many of whom can't understand the billing. I can...
Need to confront local "health and wellness coordinator" who is simply not doing her job. I'm supposed to be on baby aspirin to prevent blood clots, have mentioned it to her in writing twice, including last Thursday morning, and Friday she takes off for long weekend and hadn't done anything. Thankfully I have my own supply...which they don't like at all. As of end of day monday, still no aspirin on med list. Might be an unhappy meeting this morning but I have to manage my own health and not rely on others.

hoping my call to rv dealer today goes well. Yes Kyle, thank you, already have the "you already made one good profit off me" approach prepared. Plus I know you have no inventory and one of my rvtrader calls came from a guy in dealer's home town, so I know folks are looking. Unfortunately that guy had two kids and needed a second berth, not my dual recliners.

Haven't heard back from buyer of my farm after inspection yesterday, honestly waiting for some ridiculous demand for something based on their track record. House was left spotless by cleaning service, barns and sheds swept/blown out by conscientious neighbor. I will be very happy to get this behind me, dealing with unreliable poorly intentioned folks makes me very uneasy. Buyer asks his realtor to find out what internet provider I used, I told them and then (jokingly) said anything more would cost them... They are missing out on a lot of helpful maintenance info on the tractor, mower, orchard spraying, etc etc.

time for a shower and a second cup of coffee. Chemo must be giving me dry skin as I'm peeling/flaking all over, time for some skin lotion.

that's a nice way of putting it, thank you. Sometimes I think I'm overly demanding but one thing I learned being caregiver to my wife for 7 years, is that medical
profession makes a lot mistakes, some minor, some not so minor. Hospital was concerned enough about the aspirin to leave four messages for me...worried about blood clots.
Clearly that worry did not transfer to the folks who were supposed to be handling it...
Plus I have a finance background, do numbers well, and can tell if things are "off". At the same time, always try to use honey instead of a stick, always try to de-escalate,
talk in terms of solutions, and avoid making things personal. This is what I learned managing my own businesses and then someone else's as GM with 186 employees reporting to me. Always look for solutions, and always give compliments for job well done. But when things aren't working, need to stand up for myself.
Trust but verify...
Or as I learned in the 60's, question authority. Authority doesn't always mean right...but questioning authority doesn't have to be obnoxious or impolite either.

I think the tractor hanging the flag was just marvelous. Perfect use for a FEL!

Looks like we are in for quite a bit of rain today.

Not sure what effect that will have on the level of the water in the pond that has been draining down for the last week or so. Yesterday it had gone down about as far as gravity will take it. I would like to get on with putting in a concrete sluice this summer, but was unsure about the time it would take to go through whatever approval process was needed. There are several different public organisations potentially involved, the water people at the environment agency have been ok to deal with in the past, but it was looking like they only take the lead on rivers, this was more likely to need local authority consent, which can be .... interesting.

I spent a few hours on the internet to try and discover what was likely to be involved and then came up with this little gem (attached), which appears to be an amazing piece of common sense legislation that will make the sluice bureaucracy exempt. :cool2:
