Good evening all. 74F for the start, overcast sky, light breeze. Wind south 10-16, sky slowly cleared and high temp was 92F. Took wife to town for skin inspection, all good. Bike ride, lunch then nap and bike maintenance, Trek ready for tomorrow. Get my Volagio back as soon as I can pick it up. Need to make some test ride on the 10-sped replacement
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson 550 confirmed cases, active cases 69
RS always enjoyed the cool off from the thunderstorms, thanks for the bird update.
Dennis yes all the beer was caught and fish continued to drink, catch and release on largemouth bass, he was great fun on flyrod. Will have to do some crappie fishing wife wants fresh fish :) Awesome clouds with the sunset
Eric, green popping bug. Enjoy the pubs reopening
Drew Android guy. no help here. I suspect many of us are frustrated with some of the events going on in our nation. You have less opportunity to talk among friends than we do, so don't worry about the post
Buppies glad you are getting a chance to dry some, sorry about the heat.
Buppies glad garden is working, yes good fight, wasn't sure if leader was up to it.
Drew voting by mail in the runoff election for the first time. Great story on the dog, had simular happen stepson's Australian Shepard got into a whole ham, stopped her before she got much but lost some glaze :(
Roy stepdaughter and her boyfriend have kayaks, and a dolly that lets them tow both to lake by golf cart.
Ron Have fun shopping, nice hummer pic
Thomas I take it that was not BooBoo.
Dennis sorry to hear about cat.
Mike thanks, a lot of bread for the trees, glad A/C fixed hope they were not too proud of circuit board. Don't you wish you had video of storm?
Rand not bad trade housework for seat time, just does not sound like you are getting ant credit for what you have accomplished already
RNG sounds like quite the trip to town and you are still plugging away on solar install. What is your humidity like there?
Don hope Stihl repair goes ok, sounds like garden is coming in well.
Rick hope change over goes well.
PJ sorry about the humidity, had problem with reception intermittently , change carriers, now all is well.
Dennis hope they work out something on cat.
Dennis hop neighbors party goes well and your cat is better.
RS sounds like most of your projects are under control.
prayers for all, especially Drew and Jay and Country
stay safe and healthy you all.

Good Dr appointment today. Wife’s ophthalmologist pleased at this point. Given his reaction when he first looked in her eye, I believe him. Still a way to go, but tech was pleased with her reading the eye chart, which she couldn’t do last week. Dr increased her steroid regimen and another followup next week.
By the time we finished errands, got home and had lunch just decided to take remainder of day for energy conservation.

good morning all. 69 headed up to 91 today, headlines say some bad storms coming but won't reach this area.
Consistent 90 degree days means thunderstorms can get pretty severe.

coffee is brewing, had a decent night except for some strange dreams.
About only thing on agenda for today is doing laundry, not an exciting prospect.
Mostly, and others, thank you. Hopefully getting a little wiser each day, sometimes not sure.

Good news David.
have a great weekend

Morning everyone!
57 going to a sunny 79 and then 3 days with rain in the forecast. We need it bad. Ground is dry 4 to 5 inches deep.
Had my last yearly review this week and am working on my separation paperwork. Oct. is coming quick!
Going to burn up some vacation time in July so it should go even faster.
With the wife furloughed from work we have been practicing our retirement life and are getting along great.
Hope Jay joins in here soon. Drew I'm glad you seem to be doing much better!
Hope everyone else stays safe and healthy!

58 right now...high today in the mid-70's.
Since I spent half the day doing job related activities (customer webinar, responding to a quality issue with a supplier, other stuff), my vacation day yesterday wasn't much of a vacation day at all...
Hopefully, I'll make up for some of that today...
Chores: Definitely a dump run....and definitely a haircut (had to make an appointment). If the rain (much needed) holds off, some weed trimming. The grass could use a trim, but IMHO, it's too brown...probably let it go for a few days.

I served with the pilot, James H. Flatley, in 1972 through 1974. The outfit was VF-31 which flew (at the time) F-4 Phantoms. Cdr. Flatley was the best skipper I ever had

Good morning. Our hot weather has been replaced with something slightly cooler and a lot more humid. I wore a goretex waterproof jacket (from my cycling days) to keep off the rain showers as I did my morning rounds of the fields, though in hindsight I reckon my tea shirt would have stayed drier without it.

Last year we had a handful of orchids growing on the damp ground between the big pond and the hayfield. They must have found it to their liking as this year there are dozens in bloom.

Phil, pleased to hear the trial retirement has been going well. Has that helped your wife decide when to quit work too ?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 67° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with partly cloudy skies. Got shopping done and stairs done at neighbors. Then sat on his porch and watched storms go every direction other than out places. Did get 1 1/8" rain overnight. Back to barn door project today. Trip to Menards for couple of hinges.
CV cases keep adding up in Michigan. 398 yesterday, 1 death. Oakland County, 8754, cases. 1043 deaths. My township has had 48 cases and 3 deaths. Population 20,000.
I have been trying to get this Hawk picture for awhile. This is the one that got Squirrel population under control. It is about 24" tall.

Drew, best wishes that you keep getting better.

Jay, please check in.

Phil, I remember my retirement about the same time of year 16 years ago. That feeling of I am free. I had 5 weeks of vacation to use up before I could retire. Wife retired a year before me.

David, good news on Sophie's recovery.

RNG, hope the hard start capacitor solves your problem.

Buckeye, hope cat is doing better.

Wngsprd, Coco doing better today?

Don, good that repair on chainsaw is going be easy.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

69 going to 92.

Wind just won't slow down enough for me to feel safe spraying. It's dead now, but everything's covered with dew. Tractor and tank are ready, maybe we'll get a brief spell later today.

Glad to hear Sophie's eye is on the mend, David.

Hope your cat is, too, BEF.

Eric, it was worth your time to provide us that great pic of your wild flowers. That's a great find.

Ron, nice photo of that red-tailed hawk. That's the kind that nests in out pines every year, and follow me while bush hogging to catch the field critters.

Thanks for asking about Coco. Not a good report from the vet yesterday. New meds again, and back Tuesday.

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 4:45AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. Hot. High 98F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Handsome bird, Ron. Red tail?

Now up to 143 CV19 cases in the county, up 10 just yesterday. Starting to think it's the price to pay for demonstrations, where people gather too closely and scream their heads off.

At least you're in good enough shape now to do laundry, Drew. And you don't have to worry about it sprouting legs and wandering off, like you would in a public laundromat. Granted, not as nice as having your own laundry room, but you'll get there.

Wonderful colorful green, Eric. Some of those flowers look familiar, but I didn't see any orchids. Thanks for sharing!

Tree work ain't cheap, is it, Mike. But it's money well spent if it keeps you and your home from getting banged up.

The run capacitor swap yesterday was easy, but it didn't make any difference. Found a gen-u-wine Carrier hard start kit at ebay for about half what everywhere else wanted, and with a little luck will have it by next weekend. Installed a new UPS on the entertainment system, so don't have to worry about those components anymore.

Spent the rest of the day reading knowledge base articles and poking around the web interface to the solar power system, and was able to figure out where the settings are being made and more about how they work. It's obvious that in blistering weather like we're having now, the solar panels have a hard time keeping up with the demands of 24x7 A/C, but they are offsetting almost all of the power during the peak demand, and most expensive, time of the day. For a worst case scenario, and not much tuning of the settings, I think it's a good start.

Not sure what I'll get into today; it's an opportunity rich environment!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Had a red tail hawk flying overhead as I mowed recently. It was so pretty. Love watching hawks, and I have too many squirrels around.

RNG...I am amazed at your skills and understanding of that solar project.
That is a lot of effort your putting into it.
Good for you.
