Temperature dropped 24° in little over 1/2 hour. 1” of rain. Now 66°. Worst of the storm hit to west of me. Do not see any damage at my place. Power was out for a few minutes.

Are you going in for continued PT or as a resident?

No when I leave I leave. I will be religiously walking local sidewalks every morning for long time. Walked 40 minutes today with no cane, man am I tired though...
if raining, will walk inside hallways, but walk, walk walk. Medicare might offer some PT, shall see.

almost sounds like a party outside my room, really looking forward to quiet after move.

Drew, glad to see you improving, body and mind.
It’s been in the 90’s for several days with no rain, walking on the grass makes crunching sounds, and it’s turning brown. Looks like some rain showers tomorrow.
Got some more adjustments to my meds today, haven’t gotten them right yet, no Afib for a couple of weeks, but feeling like crap, especially mornings.

I measured some window for some friends this morning, I had to guide him through what would and would not work.

Have a good night. God bless.

Hey Randy,if I remember right you are on blood thinners after your valve job. When I had a botched stent procedure I was put on thinners and really went down hill almost daily. After about a month my primary doc looked over my latest blood work and said " You're anemic and need a transfusion A.S.A.P." I fought this for a little over 2 years getting 10 transfusions, probably 15 iron infusions and several other treatments until I finally saw a cardiologist who knew what he was doing and told me to stop the thinners immediately. I did and now my hemoglobin is normal again and I feel much better.
Just a thought that may have something to do with your feeling lousy.

I don't know how long you have to stay on the thinner after your procedure but with my stent it was only 1 year.

Good evening all. 60F for the start, mostly clear, light wind. Wind kicked back up today, did slow down this evening, sky stayed mostly clear, and high temp was 88F. Back in 90's for rest od 10 day no rain, humidity rebuilding. Cleaning lady prep this morning, followed by bike ride, and nap.

Unfortunately correct. I went to renew a couple of plates about a month ago, and the lady told me I should wait on the trailer sticker, as there were rumors that would be going back down. It didn't happen, so I renewed it this past weekend. $118 for a one year renewal on our Rice utility trailer (3K lbs and under). Our gasoline tax was raised last July, which doubled from 19¢ to 38¢/gal.

It is often quite maddening to live in Illinois.
About $75 here. Title application is about $30ish. For Trailers.

Cannot disagree with a single word here, David.
That ... is a beautiful story.
My coworkers are surely wondering why I'm laughing out loud here in my office.

I've always found it entertaining that probably 90% of my long-haired musician friends are conservatives, completely opposite of what most people seem to expect from us.
Got a chuckle out of that.

Here's the nest the Carolina wren built in my hat. I don't think they are going to use it...the male often builds multiple nests and let's the female pick the one she likes. We all did that for our wives, right?
another chuckle. :)

Took the carb on the rider apart again. Actually looking at the needle valve in the scope. It does have a small concentric ring where it fits it's seat. Kawasaki does not sell a "Kit". You have to buy the parts individually...which is cost prohibitive if the ebay carbs are decent....OEM carb is about $200, Ebay about $70 I have yet to try out the mower to see if it helped. I keep getting air bubbles in my fuel filter. It has new fuel lines, and I checked with a vacuum pump and it seemed to hold vacuum....

Good day overall, just a bit long, especially at Dr office, but wife is ready for surgery 6/20.

Lunch was a very unexpected treat. By chance we decided to swing by one of our favorite Japanese restaurants and found out today was their 1st day back to dining in, we were 2nd table seated. Food excellent as always. They had taken the opportunity to make some physical improvements like refinishing tables, adding a nice outdoor area. They did take out previously but apparently thrived doing so during shutdown. This was the first restaurant we ate at in Hilo before moving, so seemed a bit special. Enjoyed the appetizer specials of tempura soft shell crab and a sizzling mushroom platter but fell back to my old standby of tempura and sashimi combo. First time eating out since March.

TSC was sold out of hydro fluid, must have been a good price, so I picked up 15 gal at regular supplier, but I don’t know the price, will get invoiced.

Walmart was a bit of a madhouse, but wife’s prescription refill was ready and able to get travel size sanitizer for trip.

70F @ 00:00 ... high hit 88F today.

That line of strong storms came through earlier ... we were under a severe thunderstorm alert, 60+ mph winds, heavy rain ... looks like that storm spawned a tornado - warning was issued for Columbiana, OH due east of us. Wind blew a lot here ... but I didn't hear any branches breaking or trees falling.

Called and got a price of recharging and recertifying the three 10lb fire extinguishers, need to drop those off later today.

Started working on the doors for the last (bottom) row of shelving and I ran into a problem: There are three triangular shelving brackets I use to store steel mounted to the outside of the shelving uprights and the heads of the bolts would likely drag/interfere with the sliding doors. So I ran down to the hardware store and picked up 9 flathead Philips screws and counter-sunk the heads, replacing all the original bolts.

Amazon dropped off the Dr. Scholl's insoles earlier today ... I haven't opened the package yet, but I'm liking the look (and the thickness) of them ...

Wearing the new boots, my feet did not hurt at all today.

Haven't had tempura in ages ... hopefully will dream about it some tonight ... :D

Good morning. Was hoping for a drop of rain overnight, unfortunately it looks to have missed us.

Just before total lockdown I took the Subaru in for a service. A new battery should have been fitted, but got missed and by the time I noticed two days later they had been shut down. Yesterday was my first chance to go back and get it fitted. Instead of being annoyed at having to make the almost 2 hour round trip, it was a real pleasure to be back on the road again, I had forgotten what fun it can be to drive a car. I came back on country lanes that were this time devoid of cyclists, possibly because it was lunchtime. Seemed strange to pass normally popular pubs that are all closed, as are cafes and restaurants and drive through a village that usually attracts lots of tourists without having to navigate through chicanes of parked cars.

Newbury, you are lucky if your wife can't snap her fingers - you don't have to jump like the rest of us :)

"Here are five words and I'm going to ask you them again in ten minutes after discussing all this other stuff"
Drew, if they were five random words, I would have to get a pencil out and write them down. Ten minutes later I would be wondering where I left the paper ...

Temperature dropped 24ー in little over 1/2 hour. 1 of rain. Now 66ー. Worst of the storm hit to west of me. Do not see any damage at my place. Power was out for a few minutes.

The only thing that dropped around here yesterday was ME. We got our annual expected rainfall in the first 5 months of the year, so the lakes and reservoirs are full. But no more rain in the forecast for the foreseeable future. Our electricity was off from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. night before last for unknown reasons. Anyway, I didn't get much sleep so was a bit tired yesterday, but I strung out my garden hoses and watered the lawn a good part of the day. But I tripped on one of the hoses and did a nose dive in the back yard. Fortunately, it was nice clean, dry grass that I fell on, so no serious damage; just a bit sore today.

good morning all. 75 degrees in Greenville NC, going up to mid 80's in thunderstorms this afternoon, which looks like the ten day forecast on out.
Summer time.

Bird, hope you are feeling ok this morning. This hospital is absolutely paranoid about falls, seems to hurt a lot of folks and keep the insurance claims up.
I always worry about slippery floors in showers. Particularly if at home without grab rail. They really ought to make grab rails mandatory, then you get the non slip plastic floor mats that seem way too slippery. I want all the grip I can get.

Ok night, spent half of it peeing in urinal and losing sleep, gosh I'm sleep deprived, maybe getting one hour here and there. Hope that improves when I move out.
Until then, another day full of walking, balance tests and mental agility tests. The latter I like the least. I have a big pad where I write everything down, sure works for me. Once a day I call in meal order for next day, but first I write it down. Done it enough times I can look back at past meal orders and just order same thing. Not like there's that much on the menu. Tonight will be NC pulled pork and mashed potatoes again. Not worrying about fat or salt content for now, just trying to find something edible. I really want to get on a scale, think I will be surprised how much weight I've lost.

I dream of fresh vegetables, fruits, none of which I can eat because it doesn't go well with chemo, seems counterintuitive to not eat good food while trying to get well but that's the body enzymes I guess. Extra mashed potatoes and gravy? You bet...;)

You all have a great day, on this June 11, 2020. I get asked what the date is every day. Been here one month today. Onward.

75 outside this AM. Heading to upper 80's. Humid out. A/C has been running all night, upstairs. T-Storms moved through late yesterday. Micro-bursts of wind and fire hose like rain. Did not amount too much.

Electric guys showed up yesterday. Part of the tree work campaign. They cut some branches away from the powerlines up to the house. Left me a nice pile again. Did not take the tree down though. They never do. I think this one in particular, they could have made one cut, felled it and moved on. But they spent an hour topping it and piling it up for me. The wife actually said "...we should get a grapple for the tractor...". I must have had heat stroke, cause I did not say anything about grapples to her. But, ahh....with all this tree work...I told her I agree. It was a one bottle of water, two bottles of gatorade job just moving that stuff to the burn pile. I completely lose my appetite when working outside in this heat, so dinner was light.

Looks like pool cleaning is the order of the day. Still thinking about the front porch.

Neighbor on my back forty just put his house on the market. Just shy of seven figures with 1/10th our land. Wife, this is her farm, told me about it as she saw me working up a sweat with the trees. Our little space is getting super expensive. With all the development around us, busy too. Times are changing. Wonder how long before I cannot keep up or cannot afford it. LOL.

Have a great day all. Be safe. Get well soon wishes for you guys. Seems a lot of us are in a minor health rut right now. Keep pressing forward!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 58° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 77° with partly cloudy skies. Had a couple more power outages after storms passed. Woke up this morning at what I thought was 5:30 am. Clock next to bed must need backup batteries. It was actually 1:40 am. Never went back to sleep. Take dogs into groomer and do some grocery shopping today. No other plans. USPS finally delivered a package that was shipped March 31.

Drew, had to do some checking what 400 square feet is not that small. I could survive in that. About double the size of my motorhome. I remember you said you were getting a microwave. Look into adding a Induction plate. Can cook things that microwave cannot. Will need pans with steel bottoms. Keep on getting better. Special prayers on the way.

Bird, be careful.

Eric, my Diamondback hybrid bike has that same angle top bar. Much easier to get on and off bike for an older guy like me without buying a ladies bike.

RS, my feet have been very sore lately. Your post reminded me that I was not wearing my inserts in the shoes I wear the most.

Randy, hope med changes help.

David, glad day went well for you. Any idea when filter will show up.

Wngsprd, lots of clover seed.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

I don't know how long you have to stay on the thinner after your procedure but with my stent it was only 1 year.

It’s a year for the stent, should be able to lose Plavix soon. But I don’t know about the valve I’ve got to ask that question. They put put me on Eliquis and stopped the aspirin about 2 months ago when I started Afib problems, they also put me back on Amiodarone and then doubled it, it’s a very unsafe drug and they since cut it back to half.
