Any time you can make someone feel better about themselves, even a thank you, I think the world is a better place.
And Drew you have made this world a much better place for many of us.

Keep on the PT and dominate.

When my wife was in periods of despair after her two strokes I used to goad her that she used to be able to leap tall buildings with a single bound, and now she was just down to medium size buildings.

And part of the problem is as that recovery often takes a long time and during that time (especially for those of us past the 60 yr old mark) we naturally age and some decline in physical capability is expected.

I'd swear my 10 lb sledge hammer has put on 2 lbs over the last 5 years.

I just try to be friendly with everyone and constantly thank them for what they do.

I would always thank my nurses when I’m in hospital/ rehab.
Glad you are up to posting more.

Not "Gentle" Jim Reeves. It was "Gentleman" Jim Reeves, wasn't it? And he was, and still is, one of my favorites.

If I recall he was killed in the same crash as Patsy Cline. Love his voice.

Both died in plane crashes, but not same one. She died March 5 1963
He died July 31 1964 coming back from a patsy cline tribute show.

Got a few tack welds done on the LPGS side plate ... and then wondered why I was seeing spots ... looks like the helmet batteries have died. Have to dissect and see if they can be replaced.

Finished wiring up the 6th 8’ double fluorescent fixture that I hung last year ... much brighter in here now ... especially over the welding table ...

Got the rest of the channel screwed down and the sliding doors installed:

Lots going on.. comment on defunding the police, the issue I see is the police unions have too much control. The police depts are forced to keep the bad cops when in any other job they would be fired. Too many times I read about a cop that used excessive force being reinstated with back pay. The officer that had his knee on George Floyd has decades of history of excessive force.. He should have been encouraged to find another line of work years ago. Perhaps by defunding the police and setting up a different public safety force, the union would not be in control.. one can only hope.

Stay safe, prayers for all.

Good evening all. 73F, mostly clear sky, calm wind. Minor cloud build up, light wind, high temp 93F. watched chapel online this morning, puttered on computer, no nap :( . Wife decided we were not going to stepdaughter's house for dinner, So I took their share of dinner over to them.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson unchanged.
David sorry about the fence.
Drew, I always thought with the lettuce, spinach, etc it was the pickers hygiene that was important. As for your last statement all I can say is Amen!
RS I did not realize the lens on welding helmets used batteries now.
Hawkeye haven't heard from you in a while. With my cynicism the union will jut take over the replacement :confused2:
prayers for all, especially Drew
stay safe and healthy

Found my bench ends, thanks LS for another project.
Only rust on one end, had more dirt on it than rust. Hit with wire brush, but haven稚 sprayed the rust restorer yet.
Has all the original bolts still on it, but they are rusty, might have to cut them off.

Update: got all but 4 bolts off with impact. Cut 3 with hacksaw. A brace bolt couldn稚 get with hacksaw, so grinder came out. Few sparks later all was out.
Decided I need to wash good before spraying, another day.

Are you challenging to a completion race? Just kidding. They look older than mine by the shape.... I know mine are 37 years old. What are you going to use for the slats? I am going to use red oak, I think the original slats were maple.

Did not do much today, except for the 5 hours total needed To drive to and from the Home Depot in town, fighting a crowd in the store, and gathering materials for 3 hours. Got everything needed to keep me busy for the coming week...

Mini porch roof and deck on the shed, complete the electric hookup, wood walkway from house out to the shed, insulation and wall coverings in shed...
Think I will get all that done? Wishful thinking on my part, but I am gonna give it a go! As long as Mr. knee will cooperate.... its really complaining after the walking today.

Everyone have a peaceful evening.
