Poured second cup of coffee. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° with lots of sun. Need to check engine mounts on lawnmower. May be part of problem with tension springs. Both springs are were broken. Not a hard job to replace. Going to try to get a couple small projects done today before heat send me into house.
Birds use my waterfalls for bird bath.

Drew, special prayers and best wishes for a complete recovery.

Don, over the years I had to replace fuel line on my Stihl saw a couple of times. There is better fuel line than OEM.

Eric, while the the zoomed in picture looks like a large frog. It was 3" in size. No way could it pick up the 7 lbs camera and lens. Many people overlook good pictures that can be had when viewing the small frogs. I do have a monster bull frog that visits pond. But never for a photo shoot.

Buckeye, great pictures. I use the 3 little dots in upright corner of each post. If a political post shows up the poster or post is deleted from my news feed. My feed is over 95% pictures.

RNG, hope your concerns are getting straighten out.

Buppies, sorry to hear Cousin passing. Prayers for family and friends.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning. It's 71° and very foggy here with 100% humidity. Our high will be near 90° this afternoon. We got a very welcome 1 1/2" of rain yesterday afternoon. T.S. Cristobal is building down in the Bay of Campeche but, present forecasts take it way east of here, this weekend. Doubtful we'll even get any rain from it.

I spent yesterday morning rearranging our VFD storage building as we start receiving some of the materials, for our new VFD Building today. They'll be delivering 35 rolls of 48" and 72" wide R-13 insulation for walls and roof. I hope it's well wrapped.

Dependent on when the truck shows up with insulation rolls, I'll continue with spring pressure washing of porches and patios. Won't be able to get back to pasture cutting for a day or two after yesterday's rain.

Buppies .. Sorry about your cousin.

Drew .. keep on .. keepin' on!

Don .. nice work with your clearing.

Hope everyone has an excellent day.

Prayers for all.

Good morning! Lots of virus killing sun early this morning. Our county is on the downside of the curve and Texas is on phase three, (starting yesterday) more things open and restaurants up to 50%.

Thanks for the suggestions on the Husqvarna chain saw leak. The West facing garage was 100˚yesterday afternoon and it was easier to trouble shoot on the web and TBN. Now I'm starting to think I was getting too hot and missed the tank - It was the third tankful yesterday morning I was cedarciding like crazy and had 5 people taking the branches and trees to the piles while I was staying ahead of them. I'll fill the tank this morning with the chainsaw on it's side to see if it leaks and check the lines on why the new bulb does not fill. I did not notice fuel on the saw while using it.

I need to get out and about early to beat my arch-rival for seat time.

Drew, remember YOU are in charge and can walk away anytime, but you will be AMA. Have them to explain the delay. Prayers sent.

Ron and Eric it took me a few seconds to figure out your pics this morning. Funny and nice.

Morining 72 going to 90!
No power we got hit with that storm-trees blocking many roads. Almost whole county is without power, told me 3 days before I am back on line.

Generator holding up so far. But can't run AC or do Wash or Pool!

Buppies - my condolences on your cousin

Drew - kick their ***! Just make sure you have a place where you can be properly taken care of if you get tired.

Stay Safe and be well.

Sorry about your cousin Randy, 63 is way too young.

Got grass mowed yesterday and the heat wasn’t too bad. Another couple of days in the 90s before getting back to close to normal.
Going to visit Ellen’s brother this evening, he lives in Delaware about 80 miles away, not looking forward to the drive.

Drew, like Rick said, you can decide when to leave, but be sure you’re ready. I spent 10 days in rehab last year about this time, no fun, bad food and hard work. Hang in there.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High 101F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Unfortunately, what you're experiencing is a lot like what happened with my parents. Things change for no apparent reason, day to day, even hour by hour. And no explanation, just a shrug or they stare at their feet while they deliver the bad news. That's where it's important to have someone advocating for you, it sounds like your brother is already in your corner and fighting for you. Make sure he's aware of what's going on so he can take steps to deal with it and keep you on the right course. Having no control over your life, or of what is happening to someone you love, is one of the hardest things to endure. Yet that's what happens every day to people with medical issues, and I'm sorry you're going through this.

Glad you're OK after all that bad weather, Ken. And that your generator is seeing you through.

Having five people clear away the prunings sounds like a slice of heaven, Don. Hope you find the cause of the leaks.

Your water shots have me thinking about using one of the abandoned sprinkler circuits to feed a birdbath/water feature, Ron. You know, for when I don't have anything else to do...:laughing:

Glad to hear that, unlike the squirrel, the kittens had enough sense to stay out of the paint, Thomas.

Looks like those vise jaws will be better than new when you're through, RS. I've never seen vertical notches in one before, and they look like they could be very handy.

Sounds like the same guy that took six weeks to fix my tractor is working on that lathe, Kyle. :duh: And that you're a very handy guy...

I didn't stand a chance yesterday. The electrician showed up with only one helper, down from the four he started with on Monday. I told him I wanted to run through the single line drawing with him shortly after he arrived, and he agreed it would be a good idea. But his real motive was to finish the installation that day, wham, bam, thank you, mam. He got it all put together, then it wouldn't work. For the last hour, he had power going on and off, but no battery charging. The panels make power, but he blamed bad charge controllers. All outback equipment, except the battery. Which I notice has a 12/2018 build date on the cabinet name plate. He blew that off, too. Last time I checked, I noticed he's routed the 2" flex conduit to the battery cabinet out the side, and now the blinds on the glass sliding door in the garage can't be closed.:confused2: So I'm still on the grid, we never had our talk. I have a call in to the salesman, and as usual, I've heard nothing back. If I don't hear anything by noon, I'll try the owner of the company. Just too many shortcuts being taken and Bandaid fixes leaving me with not much faith in the reliability of the result. I'll get it there, but this isn't the experience I was sold.

I did get the big trench filled in yesterday, using most of the dirt that came out of it and a lot of what came out of the cut for the shipping container. And the rock pile got a LOT bigger, too. Still need to set the grade of the bank between the garage pad and the pump house location, and the fire truck is in the way. It's been a while since it ran, so it's probably time to untarp it and get it going again, anyway.

First, though, I need to mix a tank of herbicide and spray weeds, so that's on the agenda for after breakfast.

Up very early this morning and noticed the very orange moon setting.
2020-06-03MoonSet.jpg
Caught it just as it sank behind the top of the canyon, but auto focus just couldn't lock on and it was too dark to work the controls manually.

Really looking forward to cooler weather tomorrow through the weekend. Yesterday was a real scorcher, and today is looking the same. Thanks goodness for wicking materials and wide brim straw hats.

Roy, the .300BLK should be good fun. Do you already have a scope for it ? I imagine a reticule with a few elevation marks would be handy for that looping trajectory when shooting more that 60 yds with sub-sonics
No, haven't got a scope yet. As you're probably aware, the Ruger American rifles have no sights, so an optic of some sort is required. I have the same rifle in 5.56 caliber, with a sight...might yank that one off and put it on the .300BLK rifle.
The Ruger American rifles are comparatively inexpensive rifles. It's going to be real easy to put more money into the accessories then the rifle's cost. Just a suppressor costs 2-3 times as much, and that's not including the $200.00 tax stamp!

   / Good morning!!!! #113,152
Roy, nice looking rifle. How long does it take to get a suppressor these days?

Before COVID-19, about 8 months...no tellin' now.

70°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 84° today. Expecting rain most of the day (so much for that two weeks of dry weather).

Stayed up waaaay too late last night piddling around in the studio. Had a moment of vocal inspiration, and had to get it out. Left part of it unfinished, but got the basic ideas recorded before shutting down to shave and shower. Finally got to bed right at midnight. That 05:00 alarm was rude this morning. Probably do it again tonight ... because I'm a glutton like that.

Nice, colorful pics, BEF.

Eric, that's a very illustrative picture of Max saying "What?!", muffled through a mouth full of bunny.

Condolences on the loss of your cousin, Buppies.

Hang in there, Drew. You'll get through this, and come out the other end with some entertaining stories about it.

Quote - - Kyle - - LS, is that the new "dog house".

Yes, it could be if I do not play my cards right.... at this point, I cannot recall anything that could end me up in there, but you never know...

Good morning to all ! Low was only to the mid 50s, a calm breeze, so not too bad. High today up to the lower 90s... too hot in my book. More for tomorrow and Saturday, a big cool down forecast for Monday.

Bruce, yes the house was in the sun again.... storms all around, but not overhead. Radar shows them coming right towards us.... nada, nope, not gonna happen.....

Drew, sorry to hear they are keeping you for an extended stay. Like others have said, ask why.... it is good to have a good advocate as a liaison, but you will be your best own advocate. Prayers and thoughts are with you, stay strong!

Today’s agenda is comprised of prep and painting. We ordered the shed specifically without paint so that we could paint it to match the house and garage (wifeys OCD... all buildings have to match). I do have to admit, I like the final look.

Second painting project is spraying the cast iron park bench legs / frame. I did one side yesterday, but had to wait until that dried so I can flip over and do the opposite side. I did not think that through, I should have taken the few minutes needed to just hang them up so I could haves sprayed them completely all the way around. Well, cannot think of everything....

Hopefully the paint projects will be completed between today and tomorrow.

Ron, nice pic of the cardinal taking a bath. We have been watching the birds here taking turns in the pond.

Buppies, my condolences for the death of your cousin... too young for sure!

RS, yesterday I went to use the vice for a quick fix of something and I could not get it to cinch down.... ? ? ? .... sure enough one of the screws was backed out and the other was really loose... then I see your post / pics this morning..... strange.

Thomas, glad you got through one phase of your painting project. I am fortunate that wifey likes to paint inside the house... she is definitely better than me cutting in around stuff.

I have to get it in gear and get moving... daylight is burning! We want to quit for the day when it gets too hot...

Heard PA got whacked by a derecho yesterday. Those storms are unreal. Had one came through this area a few years back, it took weeks to clean up.

.

I remember the one we got back around 2013 maybe. I have pics of the radar image from it, a fast moving front stretched for hundreds of miles. Looking at the radar last night, I saw nothing resembling a derecho over PA, but there was a massive single storm cell between York and Lancaster that I’m sure caused damage.

Glad you got your hay in.

68F and pouring rain (the WB screen on my phone that is reporting the temp says 30% chance of rain ...), calling for a high of 78F.

70% chance of storms tomorrow and 50% chance on Friday. After that it is supposed to be mostly clear sailing ...

If we get any more rain over the next couple of days, the grass should really be impressive by the time I can start cutting it ...

Was up in the shop until almost midnight.

Got the rest of the capscrew heads cut down, remaining holes in the other half of the vise drilled, and the jaws drilled for countersinks.

Then got the first half assembled with blue, medium-strength thread locker ... and then ran out of the juice before I could do the other side.

So running down to the hardware and picking up a tube of that will be the first order of business today.

Hope everyone has productive, enjoyable, and safe day ...

Made a bracket with adjustable screw for tension spring on Kubota 72” MMM. Much easier than using hook to pull spring in place on a pin.
Also checked engine mounts on JD mower. All is OK. Ready to cut lawn Saturday.
